Doesn't release stuff so can't make custom rom and they are obligated to release them.

Thanks. That is a big problem in all Chinese companies. They follow the simple principle - use and throw.

  • Is this phone any good? Looking to get off the iPhone train now

    • +1

Probably, I have a redmi note 2 and it's excellent. Good battery life, dual sim etc.
Only problem with this one is non removable battery (I just chuck a new battery in when it goes flat) and I don't believe it has a Micro SD port.

    • go for it. I am using Redmi Note 1 for the last 8 months. I could not believe I could do all my emails, take GOOD photos (13Mpx) & 1080p videos and have a fast + RELIABLE phone for $240.

    No deal…

Everbuying, etc all have this at under $300…This phone is 1099RMB (under $235 AUD)…So I am not going to buy one until I see a $260ish price tag.
