What is Quick Charge 2.0?

Tests have shown that a 3500mAh battery can be charged from 0% to 60% in only 30 minutes for any compatible device using Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Both chargers also utilise a technology called VoltIQ that is able to detect the charging protocol used in the device to provide the fastest possible charge without the risk overheating, overcharging, short circuiting etc. This is useful for any device that does not support Quick Charge 2.0.

Some of the Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible models include:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung GALAXY Note Edge
  • LG G4, LG G Flex2, LG V10,
  • HTC One M9, HTC One M8, HTC One Mini, HTC Desire Eye, HTC One A9, One Remix
  • Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, Z4, Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet, Z4 Tablet
  • Google Nexus 6
  • Motorola Droid Turbo, Motorola Moto X, Moto X Pure
  • ASUS Zenfone 2 Series
  • Xiaomi Mi3, Mi4, Mi Note
  • ZTE Axon Pro

Devices without Quick Charge are able to be charged slightly faster due to the VoltIQ protocol (iPhone, iPad, Nexus etc).

The 6 pack of MicroUSB cables are not like a lot of other cheap microusb cables found on the internet, as they're made from high quality materials and are able to provide faster charging and data syncing of up to 480Mbps with error-free data transmission. They make a perfect companion for any Quick Charge 2.0 phone and charger.

  • Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge aren't listed on the Qualcomm or Samsung sites as compatible with Quick Charge or Quick Charge 2.0.

    • They call it something else but they are using QC2.0.

      • Bloody branding nonsense. Makes sense, Samsung love to do that.

        • Maybe they have to pay to use the Qualcomm name? That could add up when selling millions of phones.

        • @eug: If so they're paying for it on the Note 4 and Note Edge - those appear as QC2.0 compatible on both manufacturers sites.

        • @tantryl: they don't have to pay for it if they use a Qualcomm chip.
Galaxy S6 series only use Exynos chips but have a QC2.0 controller licenced from Qualcomm.

        • @tantryl: So maybe they learned from those phones. :)

    Any new discounts on the 5pack USB cables? 1ft, 3x3ft + 6ft?

    • +1

The coupon BRHPMMLN from the previous deal brings it down to $6.69 US

      • BRHPMMLN not working for me.

        • @Clear: Thanks.

        • @Clear:

          Thanks Clear!

Do you know if the ones linked supports quick charge?

          LaMMi

        • @lammi: There is no such thing as a "quick charge cable", but they do charge a lot faster compared to some of the cheap ones. I've had a lot of cables that are very slow to charge my devices and break after a few months.

        • @Clear:

ohhh ok!! Thanks for clearing that up! :)

          Putting orders through! Thanks Clear!

          @lammi:

          Are these 20 AWG?

        • @millzy: I would also like to know thanks

        • @linni:

          I think they are.

          http://www.amazon.com/Tronsmart-Premium-Charging-Smartphones…

That listing is the same model and same pack. They advertise as 20 AWG.
Good reviews but a bunch of people complain about the little hook part that locks into your device breaking after a few uses. I hope these last…

        • @millzy: Correct. They are 20 AWG.

Are these the cables with the nubs that wear out? After a few insertions they don't sit flush and fail to charge.

    • I got a 6 pack of the Tronsmart ones on one of the first Clear/geekbuying deal. They've been great.

    • yeah thats right. these cables dont sit properly on my Nexus 7 2013 after few insertions. but works well with others.

      • Hmm I have trouble with the nexus 7 also.

        • +1

Maybe the problem is with the Nexus 7 then?

        • @eug: The original cables and other cables are still fine over 2 years later. But after a month with these I had troubles. Guess its both together.

    • Yes the nubs do wear out. I bought Tronsmart cables and they were tight at first and clicked in, but now they easily fall out. Then again, I have yet to come across any micro usb cable, non branded or branded, that does not wear out over time.

Any quick charge wall chargers on sale?

    • Not at the moment, but I'd keep an eye on the daily flash sale as it may pop up there.

    • I bought one 5 port charger. Charging 4 phones at the same time and use the remaining port as USB night light. It can finish charging the phones within 2 hours.

  • bought it Dec 14 for the same price - Tronsmart QC 2.0 4-Port Car Charger
almost bought it again. one is more than enough
my brand name phones came with enough usb cables and ear phones for my family to share.

  • I bought a single port Tronsmart Quickcharger from you guys a few months ago and it's been great, now need to power a dash cam so glad you did a sale on the 4 port version!

  • Hi OP, Whats the difference between chargers? They both offers quick charging technology VoltIQ and QC 2.0 Which one is better? thanks

    • Any phone that supports Quick Charge 2.0 will charge significantly faster with the QC car charger than the one without.

      • Limit 1 per customer and cannot use both codes when ordering charger and the cables.

        • You need to make separate orders as you can't stack coupons unfortunately.

  • Any deal on standard small sized micro USB cables? Pack of 3-5?
After decent quality for faster charging.

  • Any Au quickcharge usb chargers for the house?

  • +1

Have you got any special for Type-C cable? Thanks

    • I can't get any coupons for a while. Hopefully it'll pop up in the flash sale.

  • Any deals on the 2-port car charger? Don't need four ports.

In addition, what's the difference between TS-CC4P and TS-CC4P1?

    • No deal currently on the 2 port, but it'll likely appear in the daily flash sale mentioned in the post.

No major differences between the 2. Just a revised design in the TS-CC4P.

  • I have a TomTom GPS, a G1WH dashcam and an iPhone, would you recommend the QC2.0 or the normal 4 ports would be able to charge them all? I'm worried about the dashcam, I heard they takes up to 1.5a.

    • Quick Charge will only work on devices that support it, so it'll revert to VoltIQ. I'm currently running a G1W-C, Win Tablet and Nexus phone off mine without any issues.

      • Thanks, bought 1 4 ports (QC) with AirMail, hopefully I'll get it in 30 days

  • Orders placed!!

Just want to thank you Clear from Geek Buying for continuing to support us with great deals! :)

    LaMMi

    • Thanks for the support! With the recent changes at GB I'll aim to have even better deals in 2016.

  • It's not much but tnere's a 5% off code valid for the next couple of hours if anyone plans on buying anything else today. VNWJBBZC

    • PMHUGADQ currently doesn't have an expiry on orders under 250 as well.

  • I keep getting stuck on checkout page. I put in all the details, address, coupon code and everything, and when I click submit —> The website freezes with the loading circle animation appearing for 10+ mins.

Happened on both chrome and internet explorer. Help?

    • Should be all good now.

cant order anything, any deal for wall charger?

    • Are you getting stuck at the checkout like CarpalTunnel was? Or is it something else?

      • tried again and it is fixed. Thank you.

        Any deal for wall charger?

        • Not at the moment sorry. I'm not sure when the next Tronsmart deal will be.

  • Is it still alive?

    • Sorry, the deal has ended. Anything particular you were after? I might be able to arrange something for my next deal.

      • Just that 4 port car charger with one of them QC2; thanks either way

      • I am also interested in the 4 port car charger (1 port QC2)
