  hows the software interface? I've a Sony KDL60W600B and its pretty bad. Takes ever to read a USB and also the app refresh is slow.

  Sigh. I keep telling my self I'll get a new TV next year but they keep getting cheaper and better so I keep holding out. I know it's not in the same league as what you guys are talking about in this thread but my gold standard for value for money TV is still the 50" FHD Soniq plasma I got for $350 in mid 2014.

  Of the Plasmas, LED/LCD TV's I've owned over the last 8 years, I've found my only bad experience has been with a Sony TV. A dead pixel in my FHD 3D LED TV popped up either not too long into its life, probably just within, or shortly after its first year. Then another. 2 now. I've since sold the TV…Also, when you touch the TV, its plastic frame creaks all over, making it feel extra cheap or had been glued together. Hard to argue with brand name, but going purely on 1 distasteful experience, I'll keep my ear to the ground for cheaper options from other brands.

  I'd recommend Panasonic, also their older panel plasmas screen burn is insane. Kinda did that to myself..

  just remember kids, all this years models will be shown at CES in 3 days time.

  Best time to buy a new TV-
  early adopters- March when they arrive in Oz
  Normal people- March if you want to buy last years model cheap, or may when this years models begin discounting seriously
