    • From a USD point, it is the second cheapest it has been. The best real (as in available for several hours+, not just a few minutes) deal was the USD $150 for Black Friday & Cyber Monday.

Edit, realised I forgot to say includes the remote. Duh.

      • Yep, 2 instances it was US$150, then once it was US$200, which isn't that far off US$189 ;)

Just looking at Camelx3 it's been US$200 or less since mid-November.

So I stand by my 'that cheap' comment :)

        • I guess it all depends on what constitutes "that" USD $25 and even USD $11 is enough to send some OzB off tap.
A point of interest, or not, Camelx3 failed to notify during those $150 price points until they were already finished.

  • Very cool unit. I'm assuming it is capable of h.265 hardware decompression for 4K videos?

      Yes.

  • Interesting, seems it cannot be shipped to me.

    • Do you see the option for "Or ship to an Amazon Pickup location" below your address? If so, try that for locations near you thy will ship to.

      • I see now, at the checkout. Thanks.

  • Waiting for it to get 160 USD and below again. Is there much hope in the next six months? Don't mind waiting. Extra 30-40 makes a huge difference to my purchase decision.

Considering it has only been cheaper than this during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, probably not for some time. 6 months is quite a while though, especially in tech so maybe. However also note that many feel our dollar will also be weaker but it has been relatively stable recently.
      Crystal ball question unfortunately.

    • From what I see of Nvidia Shield Tablet which is more or less this device plus a screen discounting is pretty rare. Devices really are priced pretty cut throat - these are mid range prices for what is easily the most powerful Android device barring the other Shield devices and a couple of tablets with the same soc.

Upvote, but I still think the Nexus Player is a better value.

comparisons, not sure if its a fair comparison

Nexus is cheaper, but you dont get 4k, ethernet, and its not as powerful.

I guess its all depends on what you are streaming/playing, and whether you want to use it for games.

      • Couldn't agree more. To be honest, I use mine mostly for Kodi and game emulation. So there you go ha.

It's cheaper but I wouldn't call it better value. The Shield offers extreme performance so I think it would win the bang for buck.

    • I have both Nexus Player and Shield, happy to have paid twice as much for the Shield, I just got my second Shield and the NP is going in a box.
The Shield having a gigabit port and IR receiver were huge pluses for me over the NP. The NP will falter on things the Shield doesn't blink at.

      • want to sell the NP?

  • This is a must buy folks

  • This player is great got this deal for 235 delivered just before christmas

  • Got mine during the cyber Monday deals. all good except I can't get the pc games streaming to work.googled for solutions but no success.

    • Did you post details on the Nvidia forums? I don't use mine for gaming, so I haven't really followed what feedback is closely.

      • There are several post there and in other forum having the same problem. Tried the suggested solutions there but no success. been trouble shooting for the past days.

    • To use Gamestream, you've got to have a GTX GPU, whether in a laptop or a desktop PC.

      • I got a gtx 750 ti. GFE is showing my pc Gamestream ready.

  • +1 if you have a 4k TV with HDMI 2.0 amazing PQ with this unit at 10bit colour.

  • Got game streaming works after uninstalling bit defender using bit defender uninstall tool I downloaded from bitdefender website.

disabling or using Windows add/remove seems doesn't remove it totally from my c pc which i tried it before and game stream doesn't work.
