          You mean pho real?

      • faux pho

        • Yay! Somebody actually worked it out 😱

Even the Vietnamese guy didn't work it out lol

    • Don't ask me, I don't give a damn.

      • Next stop is Vietnam!

I'm from Vietnam. Real "Phở" costs 2$AUD :)

      • how much is pork roll?

        • You mean "Spring roll" having pork inside? Normally 4 cents each. Here is the image: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=chả+nem&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjE7aOhnpXKAhWGKaYKHeScAKAQsAQIGw

        • @astroberryz:
Haha, it's "BÁNH MỲ". I don't know why people call it "Pork roll". It makes no sense. Not every kind of "Bánh Mỳ" has pork in my country, you can have beef, even chicken,…and of course, it 's much much much better in Vietnam. More delicious and only 1$ for one with egg + pork/beef/… inside or 1.5$ for a bigger one. When i was in my country, i ate "Bánh mỳ" every morning :)
For me, "Bánh mỳ" or "Pork roll" here is not real "Bánh Mỳ" and much more expensive.

I reckon its a roll and most of the time it tastes better with pork?

          Push it.

        • @billdre: sydney have best pork roll/sugar cane drink n pho and best yum cha as well :)

        • @2Poor4Ozb: Nah, Melbourne has the best restaurants in Australia, Flower Drum in China Town Melbourne is in the list of The best 20 International Restaurants in the World :)

        • @billdre: Bánh Mì, not Bánh Mỳ :)

      • $2 for pho? You got ripped off bro.

    • Depends on which restaurant you go to, i recommend Pho King and Pho Dat B..

      • Phở Lệ in ChợAn Đông is the best in Saigon,Phở Hùng Vương ín Springvale ís the best in Melbourne.

Breakfast - Free Range Eggs Fried how they do it best + Iced Coffee
*simple, but i am a damn sucker for it. eggs are soooo fresh!
*they most probably fry egg in lard

I have yet to have a bowl of Pho in VN better than my regular shop in Melb.
(Beef bones are costly there and Aussie land has some of the best meat)

Seafood Fresh - and the Vietnamese know how to treat their seafood
Clams and Shellfish are a delicacy

Crab Noodle Soup - Banh Canh Cua
imagine a bowl of fresh crab meat in thick crab broth with noodles
(can't afford the cost of labour for someone to shell crab as i eat it here… but in VN… wow!!)

    • Hi which store in Melbourne is the, can you pm me

      • PM me aswell thanks

      • Phở Hùng Vương in Springvale is the best in Melbourne, but try to avoid to go there at lunch time, unless you don't mind to queue up. If you are in Saigon,I recommend Phở Lệ at Chợ An Đông, I reckon it's the best in whole Vietnam :)

        • That def is the best in Melbourne. Lines are massive though, especially on a weekend.

        • @draistlin: Phở Dzủng in Richmond ís not bad either:)

        • Bro everybody have been talking about Pho Le I hated that place. The portion is big but the quality is pretty average.

  • I'm curious, how come I can fly Perth to VN return with a layover in Kuala Lumpur cheaper than a return flight to just Kuala Lumpur?

Can I just disembark at KL or is there an associated fee for missing the onward flight?

    • +2

the fee is your return ticket is cancelled

  • Anybody know if this AirAsia has any affiliations with their overseas divisions or is it a separate entity using newer aircraft, etc?

    • AirAsia and AirAsiaX are the same company, but different.

AirAsia has no issues, I've flown 100's of times.

    • You get what you pay for.

      • airasiax i think is their international flight branch, i use airasia but much prefer to price match and get my 10% off with jetstar, have a search of ozbargain there's an explanation. as long as it's the same day and same route they will beat it by 10%.

  • Unrelated topic but anyone heading to Vietnam in Feb I will be there. If you're not local I'll be your tour guide ;). I'll take you to da real pho of saigon ;). Sydney Bankstown and Melbourne Springvale got nothing on this joint i know ;).

    • The best phở is in the north ;)

      • Nah,the worst one is in the North, they have Phở with Chinese Donuts (Dầu Chá Quảy),where we normally eat with Chicken or Sea Food Congees :)

        • Couldn't agree more. North people have the worst pho ever. And a lot of them are rude as hell. Im surprise people still go there like its nothing though. Gg

    • Do you charge us anything ? Haha :)

      • Mate free of charge haha.

        • Ok, let's do it,when are we going ? Can't wait :)

I was happy at first as the price is about $285, but when I checked the transit, it will stop at KUL before flying to Vietnam.
This scared me and reminded me about the MH370. For me, I'll stay away from this flying path :-(

    • +1

Dude who cares about it. There are millions of flight everyday so the chance of you go missing is extremely low. You're more likely to be hit by a car than go missing like the MH370. I like Malaysian airlines cuz their foods are much better than Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

  • $112 for 20kg of luggage return ….. $549 with luggage ex Syd is damn cheap.
