Yardstore G78 Garden Shed, $347.25 (Was $619) @ Masters

500

Edit 3 (see Bargain Chaser's post below): Green colour is still available on new ebay listing Ebay (2 left):
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Yardstore-Garden-Shed-G78-Riv…

Masters currently have a 25% off sheds promotion: https://www.masters.com.au/garden-outdoor-living/garden-buil…

However, the Yardstore Garden Shed G78 (2.45w x 2.80d x 1.8h) is currently priced at $347.25 which is a saving of about 43%
This seems to be a great price for a fairly large sized shed, and makes the price cheaper than many sheds that are much smaller.

Available directly from Masters or via their Ebay store.

Click and collect is free, the box is about 2.2m long and 85kg.
Delivery is about $55

As a comparison (discounted) price, the same shed in Slate Grey is $464.25 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Yardstore-Garden-Shed-G78-Sla…
or the usually cheaper plain zinc for $569 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Yardstore-Garden-Shed-G78-Zin…

I can't find the Slate Grey or Zinc on Masters Website so maybe there is limited stock or its an end-of-line model hence the extra markdown.
I had no problems ordering online and picked it up after work this afternoon.

Edit: It appears that the Smooth Cream colour (main link from this deal) is no longer accessible on Masters website, links to the Green colour and both Ebay sales still work.

Edit 2: The G78 Shed has been removed from Master's website and their Ebay store, so I've expired the bargain.

  • How easy are these to put together?…Ideal size for what I need.
Also yesterday I bought something from masters and got given a receipt and the lady said there's a 10% discount on the back…Can I use it on top of this discount too?.

    • +1

The 28 page Assembly Instruction booklet says it's "Simple, Strong, Quick & Easy" - however I suspect my definition of "Quick & Easy" might be different to theirs … will find out in a few days.

      • Thanks mate…I reckon I'll pick one up too and see how I go.

    • I'm assuming the 10% discount is this one - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228794

      Starts on Monday 11th.

      • +1

When she handed me the invoice she said there's a 10% discount on it…It more than likely the same one.

        • hey buddy,
I recently purchase a sharp fridge for 1649(advertised in ozbargain as well)
The receipt tells I am eligible for a 10% discount for specific time. If you check the bottom part of receipt, you will find the detail.

    • I have two Yardstore sheds. Easy to put together? Huh, lets see… well it did take me a good 4 hours to put it together (with coffee breaks in between). And it's the first shed I've ever had to put together.

Some drilling may be required if the holes do not match up. and highly recommended you have one other person to help you (it's not possible to put one together yourself)

      • I bought this one today

I'd have to say took me a similar period of time 3 hours
But i assure you this was considerably easier than the two bunnings ones i bought.
Even though the holes took needed some pressure to line up self tapping meant i didnt need to use a drill piece except in the one spot they suggested.

This shed was quite good to assemble and for value
Firstly this came with good quality 2x 200 piece 3/8 self tapping screws
The instructions were bit odd but in good descriptive language including references to over hangs and lips. and close up magnification and full view images were very helpful

        The bunnings one
came with the 'exact' number of tack 'not self tapping' screws that were considerably less than 1/8
In the end i bought another packet of proper screws to finish my bunnings shed. adding $20
Instructions seemed to be in chinese then translated to english.
The pictures and notes didn't correctly identify front back orientation of support beams and rails.

    • I did a smaller one. It's not that quick and easy. Something this size is easily a day out more work for two people. Don't forget you'll need a foundation too. Ideally a concrete slab.

      • Yeah, also make sure the ground is level. Perfectly level, no slope. Otherwise the frame will distort and you'll end up with doors that don't align properly and won't close.

      • We recently had a section of our huge yard concreted so it will go on that.

Excellent news. Are you Italian or Greek?

        • +1

          @UncleRico:
Born In Lebanon…we love us some concrete :)

    • +3

These are a full day of work to assemble. Lots of sharp edges to cut your freaking eyes open on. A thousand screws - note not rivets… Don't do it in a yard with your kids playing around where you are working too many sharp edges. Consider the Value of your time when comparing these to stratco whole panels delivered on truck sheds. Example if you get paid $400 to do a day of overtime consider buying a shed that comes in whole assembled panels. It would be much more secure to have riveted one.

      • I think Stratco can arrange assembly too right?

    • You cannot stack the 10% voucher, as it then becomes stacking promotions.

    Good shed for short people…

    • +1

      1.8m is approximately 6 foot

      • -1

Yep, so you need to be much shorter than 6 foot to work in there comfortably.

When I was looking around for sheds, most were 190-195 in height

        • +1

The dimensions posted above are from the online advertisement.
The front page of the booklet says: W2450 x D2800 x H2085 mm
… could be the difference is max Vs min height I guess.

        • -2

          @Wolfy:

Who knows what to believe these days????

        • Usually the door frame is 1800. Once you step inside it is higher.

        • +2

The shed is only 2.45m x 2.8, it's hardly a shed you'd 'work' in for any length of time. It's tiny. It's a storage shed, obviously.

        • @BamBam cheapsk8: @jv: the gable (is the the right word?) meaning the sloped roof is higher than 1.8 usually - often it goes up to 2m.

        • Given how valuable each and every brain cell of mine is worth, one bump on the head and this purchase converts into a false economy.

  • As this promotion runs until the 13th January, you might be able to stack it with the 10% discount which starts on the 11th January.

  • Does the fact you have get someone to pour in a concrete base make the actual price of install a lot higher?

    • Can put these on seconds pavers if your just storing things in them

    • +1

If you haven't got a wheelbarrow to mix $6 packs of cement in, then a DIY shed is not for you.

      • How many packs of $6 cement do you need? More like calling in a truck load

        • Hire a cement mixer and buy the items for concrete (cement, sand, gravel or what ever mix is good)

        • @Diji1:
Easier to buy slabs… and I have a cement mixer.

  • Review from Masters site:

avoid the yardstore brand sheds like the plague . The panel material is extremely thin so the retaining screws that hold each panel together are very easy to strip the hole so they wont tighten.
The steel is also of poor quality and corrogations in panels are not large enough making the panel to flexable and very easy to be damaged.

  • +1

I suggest looking at one of these in person before buying it. I've seen them in person when shopping for a shed and it's the worst most flimsy shed I've ever seen. It's not even worth it at nearly 50% off.

    • It's hard they are flimsy, but if you check any small garden shed or lawn locker for its impact integrity you'll be always disappointed. All small sheds ding easy and feel flimsy. Though solid panels that aren't joined by screws every foot gives some confidence.

      • +1

Not all are flimsy. The good ones can be put together quick with minimal panels and the colorbond panels are quite thick. You won't find these sheds at bunnings or masters.

    sold out?

    • +1

I think your tight top might be constricting blood flow to your brain

  • Might be handy for even the mother in law visits

Just put her out in the shed

    • but then where will the mower go?

      • +1

        Under the mower in law?

      • +1

        In the spare bedroom

    • Solidarity confinement - Just like putting her in the Cooler

      • Solidarity? You have a Polish Mother in Law?

  • Don't forget cash rewards for another $7 "off" (via eBay).

    • Rather pay with gift card that's 7.5% off

  • These sheds are rubbish. Buyer beware.

  • I have a confined space in a corner of my land between fences and garage. I wouldn't have enough space to try assembling it there. However I wonder if I can assemble it in the open area and then move it to that place to fix it on a concrete. Is this possible? Or do I have to assemble it at the place I am going to put it?

    • You could do that. But you would need a few people assisting you to move it. You also need to consider the wind as it is not the strongest shed.

  • the g88 is the only one that hasnt been marked down. mistake or the only exception.

  • This is still available from Ebay in the rivergum. Hence it has not EXPIRED.
With the 7.5% cashrewards link for gift card and the 10% off from Masters today and also the 2% from cashrewards this brings it to about $283…54% off.BARGAIN!!!…..Hurry only 2 Left.

    • Cant use 10% off code and gift card via ebay!

      • I rang them and managed to get the deal i described…Pick up from Burnside, Vic.

  • After showing this to a mate who's a bit of a handyman and him having a putting a few similar up, he advised against it. Instead he suggested steelchief sheds so will be going with one of theirs. 3x3m was a bit over $700 delivered.

    Looking forward to getting it.
