90

Full strength 1500mg (1 a day) tablets at 8c each.

Save $23 on normal shelf price $42.99 (ignoring ridiculous RRP $69.95)

MADE IN AUSTRALIA - which is an oddity I've observed as many competitors' products or even Nature's Own products don't have any country of origin info.

Edit: better price than the recent Woolies/Coles catalogues 120pk for $16.50

How so ? Family doctors recommend to their own parents & my mum, who finds it's helped over the years.

      • Placebo mate.

As a medical doctor, I do not recommend this. All current evidence points to insignificant improvements, and those studies that do show significant improvements are either flawed or controversial in their design.

Until reliable evidence is available, spend your extra money on a well balanced diet from your local supermarket.

I have had a lot of inflammation issues (knees being the worst) and tried this for a couple of months. I stopped because it made no difference)and started taking anti-inflammatory medication. They worked a fair bit. In the end I stopped drinking my 6 can a day Pepsi Max/Coke Zero habit and within a couple of weeks I have virtually no inflammation instead of crippling pain all day every day for many years. You can certainly do a lot by improving your diet. I know it's anecdotal but I didn't change my diet or activity level in any other way.

      Oink.

      • ROFLMAO

      • Funny how the 6 coffee a day drinkers are fairly normal isn't it? It's just a drink however I realised all the additional chemicals in diet colas don't compare to the relatively straight forward coffee drink. Thanks for your observation though.

    • So, summary of that page: it is a supplement, not a strictly regulated drug, considered safe on recommended dosages, and have potential side effects like every drug/herb/supplement in existence :-)

      • Just supplying the link, not commenting either way.

    • The first article was not a science-based argument, but consisted of opinions and views.

The second one concluded that "glucosamine sulfate shows an ES superior to (or at least equal to) the commonly used analgesic or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs… Therefore, based on the fact that glucosamine has low and rare adverse effects, it represents a viable option for the management of OA (as a symptomatic slow acting drug) but its administration should be discontinued if no significant effect is reported by the patient".

      • You missed further up: "At this time, glucosamine hydrochloride cannot be recommended based on the available clinical data."

The line you quoted basically is saying it might make a good placebo and doesn't seem to have side effects.

Would you like me to find a half dozen other studies that equate it to snake oil? You'd only argue them too.

fyi, this not a medicine. this is a supplement. might help for some but not effective for others.
my granny took a branded supplement and she felt improvement with her joint. funny thing the ingredient is mainly glucosamine just like this cheaper supplement. when she tried the cheaper brand she felt no improvement she said. perhaps placebo effect or marketing effect from the company

  • The reason why Nature's Own are not permitted to put where they make their products is because like 55% of the COGs to produce the product need to come from Australia as well. Otherwise as far as I know, 90% of there range is actually made in the Brisbane factory.

  • For me this stuff works great, but that's just on my experience.
