anybody know what the difference in grade of willow means? the lower the number the "better"?
1 is the best, followed by 2 etc.
thought as much.. are these Impala bats any good though
impala are ok, theyre not a well known brand but they make decent stuff.
english willow is superior to kashmir willow so like kashmir grade 1 is equivalent to like a grade 6 english approx.
kashmir willow if you want to play in the backyard or indoor but if you are playing with real cricket balls have to get english.
@imtahir7: I don't think talking in grades is particularly useful in discussing Kahmir Willow vs English Willow. Willow grown in Kashmir suffers as a result of lower soil quality/moisture and higher heat in the region vs English conditions. The result is a lower quality wood that is cheaper to produce. In terms of cricket bat quality - English Willow; typically the sweet spot of the bat will feel bigger, the bat will feel lighter, you will feel less vibration in the bat handle, the ball sounds better off the bat (more of a woody sound… if you can middle it..) and the bat may last longer (Surplus of Kashmir Willow can mean some wood is left in suboptimal conditions for quite some time). On the other hand Kashmir Willow; bats can be VERY cheap and still be well made.

Provide more information if interested! Personally, I wouldn't even use Kashmir Willow for Indoor Cricket, because indoor cricket really values bat speed.
