  • up to 15 business days for it to be delivered tho

Is this original Maglite? Brand listed as Pinpoint…

    • +1

Who really cares??? $6 for 5 throwaways is fantastic

    • I think ur thinking Magnalite

      • Wouldn't want to be caught for false advertising would we? :)

5 "Maglite Solitaire" at $6.09 is awesome.

    • Pinpoint is the distributor/seller, not the brand of the torch.

  • +1

Great xmas pressie for the inlaws got 5 for $6

  • +1

If these are genuine maglite solitaires - your paying around 15~20 each

$6.09 for 5 of them is exceptional, awesome gifts!

    I've placed an order.

  • just ordered 5 for $6.09! dam thats good!

  • Thank you, just ordered 5 for a total of $6.09 delivery - I'm greedy but I have a lot of key sets!

  • Great find!

    • +2

not a great find, as it's posted by the rep,
      but a great deal :P
      ordered 5 too

    its maglite

i think pinpoint is the distributors (click the pinpoint and it'll bring u to otehr products it distributes)

i'm guessing this is a old and smaller model
and maybe the colour is not popular

  • just ordered 5
Now this is a good deal

  • +3

According to Shopbot, they were selling them for $15 each yesterday……

5 Duracell batteries cost more than $6.09!

    • Thats right! =)

    • +1

edit: 4 Duracell AAA's are actually $9.12 at woolies!

  • +1

Would be good if they didnt only do credit card, a choice of payment methods would be good also noticed something interesting , they do finance and the site is backed by Lombard finance

  • i picked up 5 of them for $6.09 as well =)

  • Whoop whoop. Ordered 5 too. Good one :D

  • ordered 5 :)
    so cheap!

  • these are probably the old incandescent types but still… $6 for 5… batteries, lanyards etc. are worth that

  • +5

Do you guys really need 5?
I’m not ordering any but you guys need to share the love.
I have one from years ago that never gets used.

  • Just brought some great deal.
Will check this site out more often now

  • sweet.

  • can someone confirm if these are actual maglite brand? seems to be a bit of confusion, not helped by contradictions on their website

  • +1

$3 for one is not a good deal, especially considering these are not LED. But 5 for $6 is a good deal! I still wouldn't waste my time with them cos I just dont use torches that are not LED anymore, but hey if you're old fashioned and like out of date technology then go nuts and order as many as you can.

  • Has anyone found anything for ~$10 with low shiping to use the "New Member $10 voucher" on?

    • I got that email too, might take a quick squiz, I guess that is what they want. :D

      • I did the same, their marketing strategy worked and I nearly bought something (XBOX Live 1500 point card for $23)until I realised shipping was $10 PER ITEM, if you buy more than three items you only get charged for 2 but still, that's $20 shipping for 3 of these cards, even with the $10 off, not a great deal (not horrible, but not great).

        • Yeah, the shipping costs are sort of high. Postage for a bluray movie is $6, making it pretty much what you would pay in the shops for the same item after factoring in their discount. Hehe, wasted 20 minutes on their site looking for a bargain but didn't find one appealing enough to bother entering my cc details again. :D

          • @sparkles: Yeah ditto….With the exception of the maglites, there seems to be little else cheap on this site, even when applying the $10 off.

  • was gonna order just one…but figured…eh…3 more bucks and get 4 more….plus my mouse is running out of batteries…so might as well…=]

  • Good! Don't really need one, but I guess it's good value to give away as random gift.

The order confirmation page says they have 98% success rate, what does that mean?

  • Sweet as tits. Bought!

  • Great Deal… Just bought 5.

  • Sweeeeeeeeeet. Lets hope they had a stock limit otherwise I foresee a lot of knock-backs

  • great deal.

Was going to place an order, but then I realised that I would never actually use them….

    • +2

No, I probably won't either….but that hasn't stopped me this time, nor has it stopped me dozens of other occasions since following this site!!!

  • +1

    Great Deal !!
Just ordered 5, great for pressies

  • +1

To bobsuruncle, your site isn't designed well for online business.

    1) Automatically inserts wrong details for billing address
    2) Has the same tab during account creation for billing address & postal address, without any indication of which
    3) Once created doesn't seem to have the ability to update any addresses.

    • Not only that, your postcode is your password (WTF?)

      • +1

And no way to change password - WTF?

        • +2

You can move to a different suburb !!!

      • +2

I spoke with them on the phone about this.

        1. There is no option to log out - either close the browser or wait 20 minutes without activity
        2. Email address and post code information security/privacy risk has been forwarded on. I also asked about removing this information and they will contact admin about it. In the meanwhile change your postcode on the website as I don't think it changes the order details although they weren't clear.

        * I suggest you also write to [email protected] from Privacy policy and if there is a need to ring them up also mention it at the same time otherwise don't bother them so they can put on more sales :)
        * It's a large company whose done deals for several years they really have no excuse.

        1. Colour is blue - no other options.
        2. It's not possible to change orders after submission.
        3. Replying to email is useless - they're only fax or phone service only (besides privacy email)
  • Thanks for the tip.

Hey Rep, I wanted to select "Ozbargain" as where I heard about your web site, but I couldn't find that on your list when I created a new customer account.

  • Gotta buy 5 to make this a bargin! They have to be loosing money hahaha

    • Your order will most likely be cancelled, it says "Strict limit of 5 per customer".

      • Crap! How do I change it back to 5?

  • +3

FAR OUT! I can't pay by paypal!

  • dead link lol

    • +2

Yeah, I wanted to see the WTF Image, but it works, seriously, type in 999 in quantity and update it.
"Postage, Handling & Insurance Discount for bulk orders More info
If your purchase is over $500, you may apply for 6 Months Interest-Free. Call 1300 789 377 More info -$2,991.01"

      Haha!

      BUT I can't pay by Paypal! $#&*@!
      What is this!?

  • just bought 5 too. (1 for $3 and 5 for $6, and good for the random gift). that's great if it's real maglite brand!

  • +2

It says noting about what colour will be shipped….Fingers crossed I don't get 5 of this colour…

      Dude that's hot.

  • my dad needs these. :D should be a nice random pressie

    • -4

Can you help me out with my payment options? -_-!
Send your email to [email protected] (it'll forward to my real email) if you don't mind helping me =|
I got funds in paypal, but no CC.

      *($!

  • Bought 5, thanks heaps.

  • Great deal, bought 5 for gifts

  • ??
    ibought 5 just then
a few seconds later (literally) sold out! ?

Hope it went through (though dunno why i bought it in the first place lol!)

    • +6

None of us know why we bought them in the first place….but for $6, who cares!

      • My thoughts exactly :)

  • I got 5 too for gifts :)

  • I just ordered five, also got the email confirmation from them. Hopefully they will honor it.

  • too late :'(
wait I can still go through with the payment, why is it doing that?

  • Cheers bobsuruncle,

what a great promotion, I'll be checking out the rest of your site.

I had to put 2 orders in however (first order I accidentally didn't update the quantity). Hence I have one order for 1, and one order for 4. Hopefully this is ok. Feel free to group them up and send as one to save you guys postage Orders 22221 & 22242).

    • Hi bobsurncle, same here. order no: cc 21663 & cc-21689 (same postal address etc). cheers

      • lol - me too - 2 orders.

    • Don't think you can bulk buy on one postage fee of $3. The total just adds $3 for every additional one. Anyway, glad I got in before it sold out.

  • so if u got an email does that mean that you got the maglites?

  • sold out :)

  • not sold out for me, they must have found new stock as i just ordered 5 more! :)

  • Although it says SOLD OUT it still lets you add it to the cart. :S

  • Just ordered, and been confirmed.

  • Hmmmm. Seems like people are still ordering after Uncle Bob said it was sold out. I wonder whats going to happen.

    • +3

      The world will end ???

  • whoops! now you guys have done it! hahaha! no more stock-link leads to 'last minute christmas gift' page

    • but there are a heap of minutes left before Christmas?

  • must be christmas 2009??
    back to the future, again!

  • The ANZ falcon is probably circling Bobsuruncle now ;)

did anyone actually verify this site / company is reputable before giving them your cc details ?

  • +4

    See my privacy/security post. Excerpt:

Change your postcode on the website - your phone number & address is possible to find
    • it probably won't affect your order
    • an attacker needs to know email address and postcode to find your details.

I did a couple of internet searches on unique identifies such as company name;ABN/ACN;phone number with the various key words such as scam fraud and privacy and they checked out.

I'm still getting used to the trust metrics available on site and could of saved heaps of time by looking at the number of good deals bobsuruncle has already done in the ozbargain community over several years.

Although I did get caught out with the lax security on the site in regards to personal information but not financial information.

  • +1

maybe Bob's trying to order more

  • omg if my uncle knew about this he'd like create 50 accounts and buy like 250,
    he just loves these things

  • +1

from the reviews on the link before looks very hit and miss.. hopefully no issues for ozbargainers!

    • better luck next time?

    • Why not vote on the merit of the bargain instead of voting because you're a whinging sook who missed out.

    • +3

I was wondering how long it would take for someone who missed out to NEG this!

If you type "sold out" into the search box above, you will find another several hundred deals that have already sold out and can thus be NEG'ed (if we apply this logic)!

      • +1

you do make a good point , whats with all these bargains starting at 12

Surely after 5pm would be a better market for selling stuff, given his is a freebie
