$9 less at $20 for five more meters of cable and still 10A, this one is my choice:
Olsent Extra Heavy Duty Trade Cable Reel Four Socket 15M

      It's $44.## for me
      Which suburb is your store?

      • ACT Your local store is full price. Mine is $24 off. I was not aware these local variations applied, and so markedly with Masters.

    • Thanks for that BlueSkyHarvest , off to get 4 now

Can I use that code "Hardware" at checkout?

      • And yes you can, simply tell them the code when paying and she put it in

      • Seems to be phantom stock (the Olsent Extra Heavy Duty Trade Cable Reel Four Socket 15M at $20).

For my Click and collect I was given a MasterPlug 20M as a substitute. No Olsent were in the store. The MasterPlug 10M (first offer) was shorter then the 15M ordered. A 15M available did not have a heavy duty cable.

The on-line photo of the Olsent (https://www.masters.com.au/product/100430825/olsent-extra-he…) looks identical in all features (except branding) to the MasterPlug.

The store's last stock take was May 2015. Register purchases decrement inventory. However, in-store stock losses result in phantom on-line inventory. Over half of my click and collect clearance items proved not to be in-store. I double checked both the clearance tables and the aisles.

Great staff at Masters - I am pleased with the substitutions I got. Four items not substituted will be refunded by back office in a few days. As I used an eGift card, I guess from my Woolies experiences that I will get an eMoney code and pin with a year's expiry.

    • I would stay away from the Olsent brand. Have a look at how many different items have had product recalls: https://www.masters.com.au/diy-projects-ideas/support-help/p…

      • Will you be staying away from F&P and Samsung as well?

        • I don't know about F&P, but I am certainly staying away from Samsung whitegoods. Not every recall warrants such a reaction, but the way Samsung botched the 'fix' with plastic bag and tape just shows their complete disrespect for consumers. Add to that my personal experience with fridges with design flaw that led to a recall in the UK and a class action in the US while nothing happened here in Australia and I know where not to put my shopping dollars.

Regarding Olsent: the fact that they had to recall three different products in closely related categories shows clearly that they either don't know what they are doing or much worse…

        • @team teri: I'm guessing there wont be much left in this world that you'll use if you stop using every brand that has had a problem.

        • @Davros: It's not about having a problem. It's about how problems get dealt with. A company like Samsung that leaves customers alone with faulty appliances and does not stand by their products belongs at the bottom of the list.

  • Why no one mentioning 10% off BigW gc?
I used them in WW, WWpetrol & Masters, all good. Dan Murphy hasn't given me any reason to buy anything yet

I can't enter the amount when buying e gift card. Only option is $100+ min

  • Or you can get this from Bunnings for $28.90. http://www.bunnings.com.au/cordtech-15m-yellow-closed-extens…

It appears to be similar spec wise except it has an extra 5 metres and for those with a Bunnings and no Masters you can save on freight. Not sure about whether there's any marked difference in quality.

    • Thanks for the link. This look like a better buy than the stupid crappy Master go around to get a little bit cheaper without the hassle of driving extras Ks to a store.

  • "Heavy Duty" without RCD… umm no thanks :)

    • Wouldn't your house have RCD? Why would you want to double up?

      • +1

Not every homes have RCD, also if you use it with a generator, older gennies have no RCD.

Better to double up on protection that ending up with none.

        • With a house: if I was living somewhere without RCDs I'd quite quickly get out an electrician to fit one.

With a generator: most are not even earthed, so an RCD won't do anything.

  • Warning. Before you go and buy one of these test the plugs in the store. Just plug it into itself. I bought a larger one same brand and returned it after it wouldnt plug in nicely and kept cutting out on 2 of 4 outlets. I tested approx 10 others in store which felt the same and opted for another brand which works fine (orange one with metal frame).
