Up to 50% off (Mostly 5-10% off) Electrical Appliances (Large and Small) @ Betta [Eastwood, NSW]

20

A (genuine) relocation sale, Holmans Eastwood Betta Electrical store are relocating into part of the old Target store in Eastwood (Sydney), NSW and have discounted all of their floor stock.

There's a huge array (100+ items) of small appliances discounted, around thirty or more fridges (some pretty enormous ones) and assorted other televisions, washers, air conditioners, etc, etc. Pretty much everything in the store has a discount label on it like the one in my picture.

A sign at the front door says "50% off". I googled this fridge and found that their price is about $180-200 cheaper than everywhere else, so it's clearly not 50% off, but a bargain is a bargain, right? (The 'before' price on that sign seems to be manufacturers RRP, not the real 'before discount' price)

Deal Example: Westinghouse WTB5400WA $2089 $1108

Location is 14 Glen Street, Eastwood NSW 2122, right next to the upper level of the big council car park.

    There's only one available…

  • I haven't been for a few months, is the $2 shop that is occupying the former Target space still open?

    • It's called the Eastwood Homemaker center.

They sell lots of stuff — from 'quality' tools to plastic tupperware to generic batteries and ugly bits of homewares. And on the other side they sell furniture and bedding… of which most people wouldn't even touch since the brands there are all generic and of dubious origin.

Wonder how they stay in business, perhaps the rent must be cheap. Good thing that Betta are relocating in there because it makes that space less of an eyesore.

      • Thanks. Rent is cheap because the whole place is supposedly to be razed with new apartments on top but something has stopped that from happening. I got told this when the legends clothing store was closing down about 10 years ago… That's why new tenants have generally been low quality.

Its also funny that the OP mentions 'old Target store'. I bet you 90% of the people in Eastwood now don't even know there was a Target in Eastwood once (or Maccas, KFC, and BBC Hardware for that matter).

      • I reckon that it's a 'department store', like a dirt cheap equivalent of Harvey Norman or (to some extent) Myer and David Jones. Each department is a separate business in its own right. The $2 shop was the biggest tenant but seems to be progressively reducing in size. The furniture shop occupies around half of the space and there's another bloke doing floor coverings at the back. The space set aside for the Betta store is in the front-west part of the store, in front of the furniture place.

I like it, I wish DSE advertised like this :p
