I would prefer 2TB seagate for $108 instead of spending $100 for Toshiba.

      I've got that Seagate, and yes I'm happy with it, but IMHO it's six of one, half a dozen of the other with these two drives; the Canvio is very well regarded by most people IME.

My 2TB Toshiba portable drive gets heaps of use and is still going well after a couple of years!
I would certainly buy Toshiba again!

Same. Been using a Toshiba Canvio Basics 2tb purchased back in June 2015 and have had no problems at all. Only thing I found is that it uses a special USB 3 cable. Cables from other external drives such as Seagate don't work correctly.
