  I still don't quite get why we have to pay to go to a place where people want to sell us stuff.

    I agree with you, but it's surprising how often we end up paying to shop.

    If you go shopping in an inner-city area, how did you get there? Did you pay for public transport, or did you take your car and pay for a parking space? Either way, you paid money to be able to shop. Even at local shopping centres, you usually still have the petrol cost, unless you walk there.

    I do think it offends our sensibilities though, when a venue is extracting money from both the sellers AND the purchasers.
