    Air Pacific or V Australia!!??

  • jetstar is slightly cheaper on airfares .. only $262 return on some days…or $302 with 20kg baggage

    • VAustralia planes are nicer and are full service. I guess it depends if thats worth $40 or $80 to you.

      • I flew Virgin Blue to Fiji (before they renamed themselves "V Australia" and turned "full service") with the family and honestly the planes were great and I didnt miss the "chicken or beef" question. We paid a few bucks for a hot coffee and sandwich. I enjoyed that flight more than other full service flights that I have been on.

I suspect that if youre the kind of person to insist on "full service" then you probably wouldnt like the hotel that is bundled in this package.

  • Sorry about the confusion! Yes, flights are with V Australia. Thanks!

  • No departure from Melbourne?

Jetstar had flights to Fiji for $260 return just yesterday… It looks like plenty are still available.

BTW be warned, Beachside Resort doesnt get very good reviews. See the TripAdvisor Reviews

For $77/night 2 people can stay at Club Fiji Resort which gets much better TripAdvisor Reviews. This equates to $144 per person twin share for 4 nights.

So you could fly Jetstar and stay at Club Fiji for a total of $404 (twin share) and you'd probably have a better Fiji holiday and pay a bit less!

    • how about free transfer and free breakfast? have they included as well?

      • dragonrab, if you think beachside better value since they offering free breakfast, read the tripad rev as above, i found :
        - they advertise free breakfast but actually get only a free plate of toast or other mini offering and charge 8 dollars to upgrade to a warm breakfast and another 4 dollars for a tea or coffee

      • Taxis to/from Nadi cost FJD $7-10 ($4-$6)

According to one TripAdvisor review, at the Beachside Resort,

        • they advertise free breakfast but actually get only a free plate of toast or other mini offering and charge 8 dollars to upgrade to a warm breakfast and another 4 dollars for a tea or coffee
        • when we asked for hot water, it was 1 dollar per person charge

        And another review:

The 'complimentary' breakfast menu itself is absurd - fancy charging for tea or coffee separately!

        The management response was:

We originally included a free breakfast with tea and coffee in our rates in 2008,however we received complaints from guests who did not drink tea and coffee and were asking for a refund to offset the charge for tea and coffee. Which became a complicated exercise. So in reponse to the complaints we excluded tea and coffee from the free breakfast

Maybe with the $40 you save you could buy your own toaster & loaf of bread?

Sorry if this is negative, but the reviews of this hotel are rather bad, and people should know this before booking.

  • well, after reading the review, they have to pay me to make me stay there, really.. so cr*p

  • off the topic guys, any1 been to fiji ? is it true a lot of mosquitoes over there? i have mosqt

    • I have. I think mozzies could be bad in some places depending on where you stay and what time of year. I would dare say that if you stayed on the islands in the dry season (mid year) mozzies shouldnt be a problem.

  • is there anyone has ever stay at sofitell? westin or sheraton in fiji?
