No bargain for a 7 day pass once credit card surcharge/postage are factored in (in fact more expensive than the other seller I use).

Yeah my bad - saw this after I posted - you beat me before I could edit it. Geez ppl are quick with their negs aren't they!

        • +2

Haha yeah people are ruthless here!

        • Ironic, huh ;)

    • Who is the other seller you use?

    • Whats the best? I am going for 10 days at the end of the month.

      • Depends on where you are going oison. Go to hyperdia or jorudan to check out some of the costs of single tickets to see if a JR pass is worthwhile.

  • Any better pricing on buying multiple passes?

    Where is local pick-up from?

    • Hi Devil. We are in Thornbury. Can pick up after hours no problem. Can't offer any further discounts on multiple passes, sorry.

      • Oh not local for me unfortunately :(

        • If I get 3 x 7 days can you ship to Sydney for free?

        • Happy to discuss and work something out for you. Can you please send me a private message.

  • any expiry on this offer? i need to purchase one for a trip in late feb but don't have the money for another week or so.

    • Latest we can order at this price will be Jan 29. The Aus $ has dropped in value considerably this month unfortunately so this has affected prices.

      • yeah definitely, thanks for the heads up - ive been keeping an eye on this stuff the last few months :)

  • fyi for sydney siders, just did a trip to japan and purchased mine same day from sydney kinokinuya was $331 / $335 with credit card surcharge but you get it instantly.

      • yep sorry should of clarified, the travel agnet inside kino. just ask any kino staff where he is.

  • Hopefully you have another deal in a couple of months, not leaving till late May.

  • hi, is there a local pick-up from Sydney?

    • Hi Cawoll. We are based on Thornbury in Melbourne. No Sydney office.

Not really a bargain when you shouldn't be charging a surcharge anyway.
I'm after a rail pass for 3 months time and found a better price via flight center.

  • Ill be prob grabbing this in the next 2 months, just need to find a bargain for some sim cards that don't expire before my holiday.

  • Holy cow. I know everything is expensive in Japan, but a 7 day pass for $331?

    • +1

Everything is not expensive in Japan. Plenty of things are more reasonably priced than here. Including train travel if you compare what you're getting.

    • yeah unbelievable!
can buy 70 days of MYKI pass hey?
Does the train have bed/on-suite or something?

      • +2

You do realize you can travel between cities right? Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not.

        • +1

oh, not being sarcastic, never been to japan, dunno that it can be used to travel between city. in that case, it's not expensive.
          thanks for the info.=)

          @zsa82:

Think of it like a 7 day pass that lets you travel all around Australia via train.

The difference being that their train system kills ours and you can pretty much go Syd->Melb in a few hours.

          Definitely worth it.

Actually price of most things is pretty much in line with Australia, with some things being cheaper (accomodation) in my experience. Long distance trains are expensive there, but the infrastructure is amazing so if you're going to travel within the country these passes are worth it.

Japan being expensive is a bit of a misnomer. It's a bit weird paying more for a 2 week rail pass than return flights but it is what it is.

      • Common-enough.
I've paid more for a bus to a London airport, than the flight to Germany.

  • Hi, Can we buy online or need to contact your office?

    • Hi Dogfather. We don't have online purchasing facilities so you'll need to send us an email. We can give you a call to finalise the details. We just need to know the pass you are after and the names to go on the passes. We can email reply or give you a call, whichever is convenient for you. If you need a call after hours we can accommodate that also.

  • Sachi in Sydney will price match, just show them a website link, bought mine yesterday.

  • such a shame i bought mine for 707 here in melbourne. Nice deal.
