Availability

Paid shipping (dispatches 2-4 business days, sent Priority), Free Shipping (dispatches 3-5 business days, sent Off-Peak). See product page for updates, under "Availability". For bulk purchases (if available), please add 1-2 business days. Shipping time to your exact location may be additional. It is expected that at least 90% of correct addresses will arrive to most locations within the time indicated. Peak periods may add congestion to the postal system. See www.auspost.com.au for details. Any addresses rejected by Australia Post will incur a charge of $4.90 for redelivery, because the item will have to be posted again. Tracking is available if purchased but may not be added after an order is placed, as changes to coupon-based orders after placement are untenable for logistical reasons. $52.45 for Xbox one version delivered from beat the bomb http://www.beatthebomb.com.au/games/xbox_one/metal_gear_soli…
May not be the day one version but that extra stuff isn't anything special.

    • +4

$49.95 if you go through their eBay store

    • +3

Yep, and these days, DLC isn't exactly 'collectible'. Doubt it will even be able to be used in 10-20yrs time when it might be a collectors item.

      • +1

The DLC is $1.45 each too, besides it mostly being cosmetic.
At least the Collectors Edition actually comes with something like a replica of Snake's arm.

  • -6

Hi Guys :) Thank you for your comments. Buyers please note: Many sellers sell a different edition. This is not a deal for that edition.

Perfect for Collectors…voted best game of 2015(metacritic.com)
    * This is not the standard game
    * This is not an import

This is for the official Collectible Australian Day 1 Edition

  • +5

shit i just checked ebay now and ppl r selling it under $60. just paid $68.88 for this one. hope the extra $10-$15 is worth it :(

    • -3

The price probably works out the same because we're not charging you freight, and being one of the first orders…you get a free upgrade to Receipted Delivery :) Yay!

    • Good job!

  • +4

I remember when MGS 4 came out, I was working at GAME. We had like 30-40 day one editions in stock for months and months.

Good on you for trying to clear out your stock.

    • +1

Yes, well, we tend to do that type of thing a bit, haha :) as long as people get amazing products (and we like this one!) at a good price, with great service and a friendly smile, then it's worth coming to work!

  • +10

Hey rep, how about you offer something that's not more expensive than your ebay store?!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Metal-Gear-Solid-V-The-Phantom-Pa…

Discount is clear as day on there, get 5% off, brings the price down to $66.29 delivered from YOUR OWN STORE!

Even if it wasn't for that, the eBay listing is only 90c more than this OzBargain coupon… cmon…

    • +4

or on clearance at my local target for $50 new for the day one edition on ps4 / xbox one…

      Mod: Removed personal attack.

    • @spackbase — It's pretty tight, either way. I think you of all people know we run things as low-priced as possible. It may not be a completely fair comparison though….what is it showing including receipted (meaning + signature) freight?

  • -4

    Xbox 360 and PS3

By the way folks…we didn't really advertise it, because a certain retailer going out of business did their import version pretty cheap at Christmas (not sure if it's the same edition or not) but the official Aussie (yes, I know we say that a lot!) Day 1 Edition for the:

    • Xbox 360, and
    • PS3

are at our lowest ever price right now too! Some prices out there may be quite competitive for those ones, we didn't check (because we're advertising the Xbox One and PS4 versions) but at least from us you get official product, packed by professionals and where everything is done right. And the price is way under cost on those, so I hope that helps someone :)

  • +5

I wouldn't call the Day One Edition a collectors item, its just extra digital content.

    • +3

On a piece of paper with a use by date.

    • Perhaps neither would I, strictly speaking, from a "game only" perspective. Except that buyers who are collectors tell us they care about this sort of thing, with Y-fold seal, Aussie Edition etc. That's why it's there. One said on a recent deal of ours he gets more when he later sells the games. If he can bear to part with his games, that is :)

  • +5

HI Sellingoutsoon… I just want the PS4 edition dont want the XB1… Could you do half price since both is $68.88??

    • +3

      It's not $68.88 for two.

      • +1

Ouwhhh.. Ma bad… I really did think it was for both games when i read…

"Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain Australian Day 1 Edition for both Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4), and Xbox One (X1)"

        LOL

    • +2

      Haha…. :)

  • +4

You've been posting decent deals lately, but this is not great.

Also, $40 off? So you normally sell it for $109?

Bring back the good SOS bargains.

      1. Yes, we have been posting great deals lately :)
      2. Why is it we only hear from you when you've got something negative to say, Pinbot?! WE'd like you to participate all the time, when we're doing our best deals!
      3. No we don't. Our normal price has varied between $99 and $108ish, both of which are lower than the RRP — I know OzBargainers hate the RRP, but we didn't make it up!
      4. Well, we don't have to 'bring them back', we're averaging 40+ votes per deal, and they're quite well received because we work harder, but some are just going to be better than others, because of commercial realities…which doesn't mean this one's bad. It just means to get the #1 game of 2015 we have to pay more, and if we do, you do too. It might be different if the circumstances were different?

So far, not one person has shown a verifiable link to a deal where someone else is better…if the deal is not good, why is nobody else better?

      • +5

So far, not one person has shown a verifiable link to a deal where someone else is better…if the deal is not good, why is nobody else better?

        Your own eBay store

$68.39 Shipped with Parcel Post + Signature, $66.84 Shipped normally.

Come here acting like you're offering us a deal, when it's cheaper through eBay, with listing fees etc.

        • +1

          Ah….

          where someone else is better…

And you didn't answer my other question…about the price with Receipted Delivery…which is what we're offering here, and costs more on ebay

        • +3

          @sellingoutsoon:

It's your own eBay listing! You come here acting like you're offering this site a bargain, when you're selling it cheaper on eBay!

With the 5% discount clearly shown on eBay, it's the cheaper option

        • -1

          @Spackbace:

Thanks for the bold text. It helps. Nobody said it was an OzBargain exclusive (although nearly all of our deals(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/151515/nodes) are) and again:

          • You read it wrongly. I said "someone else" which shows we're the cheapest price, on both…so why the neg anyway?
          • Can you actually answer the question properly please, about the final cost (like for like, obviously) without the excessive bold-text please?
        • +5

          @sellingoutsoon:

          This is just ridiculous.

          • Neg is for being cheaper elsewhere, IE cheaper than this 'deal'.
          • Final cost was in my comment above, I thought I made it pretty clear.

Oh, and while you're insistent on not admitting to your shoddy 'deal', should I also show how you had this for $76.57 only 9 days ago?.
Yeah, misrepresenting the $40 off… just shady business practices that need to stop.

        • @Spackbace: Maybe we can avoid all the drama and stick to the facts please?

          1. Elsewhere usually would mean other competitors.
          2. Nobody said this deal is exclusive.
          3. We're allowed to change prices, we don't do it as often as a lot of sites, but we respond where needed. ou (of all people) should be aware that many sites change prices multiple times per day, some more than 'many'. I don't see your point. Use any tool you want to check that on average our price was what I said above, for this month.
          4. Give me a number for how much it is on ebay, because what I got is completely different to what you got! This deal is cheaper than the link you supplied, initially I thought you might be right, but when I checked back again and chose the shipping option that includes + signature (which is what people get with this deal** then this deal is cheaper.
        • +1

          @sellingoutsoon:
"Elsewhere usually would mean other competitors."
No it doesn't. Plenty of deals on here have been critiqued or rejected based on the businesses ebay or their own website having a cheaper price.

      • +4

SOS can certainly do some good deals. Sometimes you post something that's a real dud and I have to wonder what you are thinking.

This is a dud because it is cheaper on your own ebay store (exact same product, with receipted delivery). Which really makes me wonder if you think we're silly.

How the heck are you arguing with Spackbace here? LOOK at your ebay link. WTF.

        • -2

No, sorry. Why the neg?? As I said, give me a number for how much it is on ebay, because what I got is completely different to what you got! This deal is cheaper than the link you supplied, initially I thought you might be right, but when I checked back again and chose the shipping option that includes + signature (which is what people get with this deal then this deal is cheaper.

        • +1

          @sellingoutsoon:

You've probably forgotten the 5%. Look down the page a bit where it has seller offers. You have multiple offers, so sometimes it'll say 5% off, sometimes it'll say one of the other offers.

          Direct link to deal:

EXTRA 5% OFF WHEN YOU SPEND AU $5 OR MOREENDS IN 5 HOURS
          http://www.ebay.com.au/sme/sellingoutsoon/Extra-5-off-when-y…

        • @justtoreply: Oh, OK. Well I've seen those deals start and stop a few times a day, and vary a fair bit. Yes, that might be the difference, which just goes to show that the ebay deal is amazing. I wouldn't know as I don't deal with that stuff. But there was no 5% when Iooked back, and that was only a few minutes ago, so like anything, those ebay deals are subject to change.

        • @justtoreply:
I don't know what comments were unpublished, but in case it isn't clear, when I said "Seller offers" I meant your offers, specific to your store.

        • @justtoreply:

It was just him saying it wasn't there when he looked… ah huh ;)

        • @Spackbace:

Sometimes it isn't. They have a buttload of offers: free ship over $100, $25 off $125, $15 off.. etc. And ebay rotates them, so sometimes the 5% won't be the offer showing.

      • +3

I think you'll find I have posted when good deals are around. Your vita deals have been amazing.

RRP is very rarely used apart from EB games, so I don't think you saying that $109 being RRP has much weight.

I personally thought MGSV was the '#1 game of 2015', but I think you'll find that the consensus is that The Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 are 'the #1 game of 2015'.

Here is a new and sealed copy for under $50: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Metal-Gear-Solid-V-5-The-Phantom-…

Or if you want the day one DLC, your ebay store is cheaper than this deal.

I'm not here to moan, I just don't like Ozbargain being used as a storefront for just OK deals, when it is a site for genuine bargains.

        Cheers!

    • +1

No, they normally sell for $76.57

      • No, I actually do not recall that number at all, but in any case, see what I wrote above.

        • +1

No, I actually do not recall that number at all

Could've guessed that would be your excuse.

Anyway I'm done, the neg is well deserved, everyone can clearly see my side of the argument as I've actually provided proof.

Now take your excuses and lies to the next person that wants to deal with you.

        • -2

          @Spackbace:
          1. No, you're wrong about that. The reason I said that is because I actually do not recall that number at all.
          2. You still can't show a final figure. I'll admit if I'm wrong.
          3. Quit the personal accusations and personal attacks, we do the right thing by lots of people daily. How would you know if you didn't buy anything?

        • +2

          @sellingoutsoon:

          1) That's nice. You mean you keep no record of day-to-day stock prices? Ah huh…
          2) I did, and others have seen it. Just stop
          3) There's no accusations here. All facts. All you're doing is showing everyone what you're really like, and I'm just highlighting that.

All facts, all proper figures. My argument has been laid out clear as day.

If you have an issue with my neg, report it. If you think I'm throwing around personal attacks, report the comment. So far nothing of mine has been moderated. Funny that.

  • Have bought a few games from SOS, found them to be good to deal with Keep the deals happening I say!

  • +3

    Shame their prices are shit

  • Plenty of good deals and no one bats an eye.

One bad deal and everybody loses their minds.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone have more deleted comments in one thread due to Personal Attack's than Acex.

    • +1

One bad deal? More than just one…

      • -3

What's the ratio? And remember, the deals most people post are not their own…which changes everything. If you don't believe me, why not take a risk, and do one where it's your product? See how easy it is then… :)

  • +1

    $h!t deal for download content
The ACCC does not approve of price shifting to inflate bargains artificially
Kogan just got done for doing the same thing you are doing!

    • -2

No, that's not factually accurate, sorry. Why don't you get someone who knows (plenty of smart people here on OzBargain) to check using the best webtools they can find to ascertain the median price we sold the PS4 and X1 versions for over a defined period of over 30 days, to see if you're right or not?

      • +2
        • Sorry about that. I was being quite serious, I don't know all the price info on the site, and in my travels on OzBargain I have noticed some super-smart people here, who are (way, way) above my pay grade in the technical knowledge department! So I thought someone might prove my point mathematically through clever web analytics. But that didn't happen, and that's OK. I have a possible solution at the end of this page as to another deal that might meet the needs of OzBargainers better (if I can get it done). I'd be grateful to accept any sincere and helpful responses. Please reply to the idea at the bottom. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  • +6

The Rep is being rude. I don't appreciate this.

    • +1

would add this site to my blocked list hate to receive anything faulty if this is how they behave before you even buy anything

    • -1

Sorry, this was not my intention. There was a bit of heat over the final value of an ebay deal, explained by "justtoreply". There were some trolls too, of course. And some other opinions, which (although different to mine) are no problem. If you are referring to the "personal attack" label attached to all of my 30 or so comments on this deal (!) this was a mistake by an OzBargain mod, which they have kindly admitted, apologised for and changed back. I think that made it look a lot worse than it was, at least from my end, I am used to robust yet respectful differences of opinion and I don't lose respect for anyone, unless when a known offender is being hurtful to others on purpose.

      • +1

Haha, I came to the thread late at night and thought you must have just completely lost it and snapped when I saw all the "personal attacks"

        • Yes, a (very nice) Mod made a big mistake (see big message at end of this deal) which made it look way worse than it was, but he helped fix it which was really cool. I don't snap very often, but I do crackle and pop!

  • I see it as $62 on the PSN store. Digital download though.

  • +4

As much as I like to say some of their deals in the past have been good and the rep has been responsive, this is one of those deals that was doomed to fail (Probably because the rep didn't do his research on the purpose of this site and how effective it is to gather information on google and ebay).

Piece of advice to the Rep, learn to deal with the negative comments just like the positive comments and work on it (PS… I work in sales myself, so I have to admit to certain things honestly even though it hurts)

    • +1

      @aspirepranesh — thanks.

  • +2
  • +4

OP has given us many good deals. Can't remember exactly, but I have benefited at least 5 times from their bargain postings here.

This deal may not appear as good as previous offerings (especially where a normal version is available cheaper) but please do the discourage posters from posting.

Would hate to see these guys not post because they are finding it harder to match their previous deals.

  • +1

    Apology:

Sorry people, discussion got out of hand yesterday. Seems this might not have been our best deal ever, thanks to @justtoreply for your comment on 20/01/2016 - 17:02: "Sometimes it isn't. They have a buttload of offers: free ship over $100, $25 off $125, $15 off.. etc. And ebay rotates them, so sometimes the 5% won't be the offer showing." That's what I would have said if I had the chance (and had thought of it at the time. Sounds like a fair assessment of why the pricing was different for different people at different times).

    Mod mistake:

    • One of the mods told us they clicked the wrong thing which made all 30 of my comments marked "personal attack", by mistake! Apologies if any of you thought I'd made 30 rude remarks to all of you. Mod was good enough to apologise for this, but not before a fair few of you negged the deal, which only happened after everything looked like a personal attack. These have now been changed back, please reconsider your neg if it was because of all the "personal attack" remarks, but I respect people's right to express their own opinion too.

    Learning from the OzBargain community:

Someone also pointed out that the DLC content and other D1 features were not enough to make the item collectible, and/or a higher price after the D1 date. This is a very good point, and we will bear this in mind for future deals, in the interest of serving OzBargainers better.

    Pricing Ideas:

May I ask at this point: in order to achieve a price everyone likes (a lot) more, what if we created a deal whereby we provided new disc, new manual, but (very) slightly shelf-worn box, without the factory-seal. It would be Australian stock, never used, full D1 edition with all the bits. Thoughts on price, if we were not to sell them wholesale to ebay sellers, but to offer them on OzBargain…what would be a fair compromise?

    • but not before a fair few of you negged the deal, which only happened after everything looked like a personal attack.

Looks like this needs some clarification. The bulk-unpublish mistake was made at 20/01/2016 - 16:13.

You can see the timestamps of all votes on the votes tab. All negative votes except for the last one was made before the bulk unpublish. The last negative vote was made after your comments were restored, and for a different reason.

Edit: BTW, the bulk-unpublish mistake does not negate the fact that one particular comment from rep was unpublished as a personal attack.
