      You what?

That's better than the second hand brand new one I got the other day.

Better than the second hand brand new carton damaged grey import one I got the other week.

        • @golferpat: refurbished stock

      • +1

It's generally the hand you don't write with, it's a pretty good deal, those things can cost an arm at retail.

    • :( also bought 5 from MSY yesterday for $129 each.

Only annoying thing with Shoppingexpress is the limitation of 1 per customer.

      • 5?

        • :( that would've been $50 savings via SE. but then again limited to 1/cus

        • @j03: Sure would. But what did you need 5 for?

I'm considering just 1 and probably won't pull the trigger since the laptop it would be for is over 2 years old now and I actually have 18GB free space available on the 128GB drive it came with.

At first 128GB seemed tiny and I struggled with it but by now I guess I learned to clean up after myself. Well big things just live on USB sticks… ;-)

        • @team teri:

work wanted them on a few dell latitudes. Actually need 25 more.

          @j03:

As long as your work is paying for them I would just get it from any other retailer that can stock the QTY. Saves you the hassle of ringing around and wasting time.

Great price on the 480GB, unfortunately not such great reviews … http://www.maximumpc.com/crucial-bx200-480gb-ssd-review/

  • When are they going to do an SSD sale with atleast 256 GB :(

Want one for my xbox External HD

    • +4

      I could swear there's a 480GB being offered here :)

      • With a Name like Tight arse I would hope you would understand why I want to get the cheapest option I can :P

The bx200 is a truly terrible drive though..

  • I have a 5yr old Delly inspiron lappy…how would I know the SATA will fit into it?

    • 5 year old Inspiron, probably not mSATA. Best to look up your model specifications on the Dell website to see which drive type you have installed, most likely standard 2.5" SATA drive.

      • looks like 2.5 SATA, when I pulled it out yesterday :-)

        • The mSATA board is often hidden in a different area of the motherboard than the 2.5" SATA port/compartment. In saying that, 5 years old - I don't like your chances of that being the case.

        • @shawnsmaggot: Looks like the dying grandma doesnt need a flu shot …which saves me some money and I just have 2 buy a new lappy :-( and may be upgrade the HDD after an yr or so…by that time, the flu shots will b much cheaper i guess … :-)

        • @bkoolrocks:
Couldn't you get a msata to sata adaptor

        • @Gimli:
Probably more expensive & problematic than just buying a SATA drive

need a SATA version of SS evo..

  • I would buy Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD SATA MZ-75E250BW but Special Discount 'special arrangement' from Shopping Express (ARSESSD) only applies to specific products. Your order will be processed without this discount.

  • are these any good for a 2008 MacBook (for upgrading from HDD to SDD)?
if not what make/model will fit/Work?

  • Delivery in 1 - 2 business days?
I buy a fair bit & the average would be about 1.5 weeks to Perth (sometimes been 2 weeks).
This delay stops me buying from them more often - I wish they had an Express Post (or similar) option.

  • I only have a SATA drive in my computer, how will I go about connecting this mSATA drive to my desktop?

    • Apparently you can get adapters. But as Gaz said,Probably more expensive & problematic than just buying a SATA 2.5" ssd drive

      • Do you think if I contacted shoppingexpress that they would be able to refund me? :O

    • Just get a mSATA USB case.

  • Sweet i almost bought one of these yesterday for $139 cheers tightarse :)

  • Strange question:

Can anyone tell me if Crucial have their own TRIM software?

Reason being, I plan to install a large (~500GB) SSD into a Windows XP based system (for reasons I won't go into), and as XP lacks native SSD TRIM support, I need to use a brand who offers manual TRIM in toolbox support. I know Intel and Samsung offer it, maybe also OCZ (yuck!), but unsure about Crucial. The system receives heavy read/writes thus the need for this manual feature.

EDIT: I've discovered Crucial implemented a toolbox (Storage Executive) for owners in 01/2015, and if I were to hazard a guess I'd say it also featured manual TRIM support, but I don't want to buy a 480GB SSD that I really don't need beyond this specific purpose if I find out it lacks this feature. So I'm hoping someone could check for me. (Basically any OS after Windows 7 handles TRIM natively so the majority would never need such a feature).

If someone could clarify, I'll pull the trigger on this 480GB SSD. Otherwise wait for a Samsung deal to come along.

    • Deal has since expired so nevermind that question.

If a non Intel/Samsung deal comes up next I'll just upgrade the OS to Windows 10 and buy the SSD.

      ANSWERED! Thanks TA :)
