I was looking for a vector graphic editor and found out this great deal. I'm sure it was selling $79.99 (if you do a google search for 'affinity designer'), now it's down to $38.99. I think there was an 80% off sale before Christmas, now it's even better.
Illustrator CS2 can be had for free legitimately, or it's almost legit, I forget.
I have this on my Mac, and as a long time Adobe user I can say that it's a really great piece of software. Super fast rendering and a tonne of nifty little features that make CC feel old and clunky. I'd love for a Windows release as well, but due to the way their drawing engine is coded I doubt there will be a port any time soon. Still, a great deal for anyone interested in design.
I think you're confusing Sketch with Affinity Designer, Serif just says that they;re focused on releasing the suite(including Publisher) for Mac first then will consider other platforms. The Sketch devs are the ones who say they use Mac specific engine. As you may be able to guess, I want Sketch too..
