  • the point of this post is…? lol
    whats the bargain

  • +1

Please tell us how much it is on the title. I know it is $3.98 with free shipping but I had to find that out by clicking into your site. $3.98 could be a bargain for some but for the people who doesn't think it is a bargain, having the pricing on the title can save a lot of our time. Thanks.

    • price added, thanks

$3.98 shipped, OK I guess. Their shipping is quick so not a terrible deal. You can get them cheaper from DX and various O/S websites but you will have to wait a lot longer. +1 because I did receive their last 2 freebies quickly.

  • still waiting for the ipod screen cover

    • i got mine.

Was negging because of the following:
    - You cannot play music or do anything while charging unlike the real apple ones
    - These are cheap alternatives to the apple ones
    - You can get them from ebay at a very low price.

But since the freebie silicon snore things did annoy my sister..
    I won't be

This isn't really a deal imho.

    • You can't play music or do anything while charging? You're doing something wrong! I have about 6 generic iPhone docking cables, and the one genuine one that came with it. All 7 work in exactly the same way.

      • I dont think what cwongtech says is as silly as it sounds. I have a few usb cables bought from cheap places and they can transfer data fine but you can't charge without them because the manufacturers left out the wire for power to save some $$$ on the metal (copper?).

      • The one that came with my belkin usb wall charger (looks exactly like this)
Can't do what I can do with the Apple iPod cord that came with my ipod touch 3rd gen.
Even when its only to the wall charger with the belkin included ipod cord, there's no slide button for me to slide so I can play apps and music while charging, but you could with the apple ipod cord =\

    Deal Extreme.

  • More expensive than DX. And DX have the small iPhone style ones without the buttons on the side.. much easier to use.

  • So why do all theses sites (DX, eBay) list these cables for ipod and iPhone 3G only - most seem to leave out iPhone 3GS. Surely there is no difference in the cable? Or is there? Or is this just old copy from when there was only 3G?

    • I'm almost certain they are all the same cable. I live in a house with ipod classics, nanos and a iphone and I'm able to use the same cable regards of the device (all Apple but the prinipal should be the same for all). For a $1.70 or whatever they are on DX it's probably worth the gamble :D

      • Thanks TFG, just technically intrigued (never sure if these cables actually have any electronics, static or dynamic, in them. Don't want to spoil a 3GS battery, but then also don't want to pay $29 to Apple for something I can get for a few dollars (and thus probably costs less than a dollar).

        • The cables are very basic, standard 30 pin dock connector. You run no risk of using it, the power is regulated by the source (i.e., motherboard, power adapter, speaker dock).

Further to that, I am not aware that Apple recommend you use only genuine accessories, and this would be strange anyway. A cable is no different to a speaker dock, car dock, etc. Some have a 'made for iPod' logo but that seems useless on a USB cable.

You may have better electronic shielding/thicker cable with the official Appe one but it will make no difference whatsoever.

Neg votes revoked - read neg vote rules - Neg votes must have some explanation why you are neg voting it. Sorry DX doesnt tell many people why - DONT be lazy. We put in the requirement to explain your negative votes so they people can understand why the vote is made. That way the whole community benefits.

VOTE negative BUT give a CLEAR reason DX - what the hell is dx?? people shouldn't have to second guess the reason is it deluxe version and so on. Yep some can read above dealextreme, but not all do that. Its a community share to help the community.

CRAP - yes we know t=you dont like the deal? is the cable C… or the price?? Common help everyone here and explain why.

Think - if we just delete the neg votes and put RTR, whats that tell you?
