  • Are these print passport quality? (after cutting it up to the right sizes)

  • Same price for 4x6" at Officeworks.

    • any idea how much is 5×7" print @ OW?

      • 30ish cents. Edit: Don't use online, instant printing in store @ OW.

    • I've printed over 50 photos with Snapfish and picked up from Kmart. You simply cannot image how bad it was. The colour was all over the place, the resolution downgraded considerably, most pictures became under exposure for some reason. Please keep in mind that I uploaded full size jpg, each one was around 10 MB in size and took me well over an hour to upload.

It was cheap because they were printed in some warehouse then delivered to your store after 3 days. In the end, it ended up more expensive for me as I had to print all photos again from Big W and Officeworks. Officework was ok, their 6x4 machine was quick, but some ink didn't dry quick enough and you can see bubbles on the photo. Sometimes you can even see weird scratches on larger prints. I would go to Big W more often if they opens 24/7

  • used HN the other day (mt gravatt store)
found their prints very bad quality
    is this store specific?

      That is interesting Information

I know what to expect from OW given I used them even recently for photos but was curious if HN would be better as in the past I had photos printed on Fuji Crystal Paper from a photo lab in the CBD and the quality was amazing - significantly higher quality than Kodak but back then I think they were more expensive to get done.

There was a bargain posted a week ago where the issue of wet vs dry photo printing came up, and if you visit youtube looking at photo printers there are numerous videos presenting various printing solutions for photo booths/photo printing industry.. I can see stores switching to inkjet type printers to keep printing costs low and hoping most customers don't know what to expect in terms of high quality prints so they are happy with what they get.

    • Funny you should say that. Me and the missus swore off Harvey Norman prints day before yesterday. Set up about a hundred prints, went through and edited each photo individually so they wouldn't be cropped; Finished product: every print was washed out and had lost colour, and over half our photos still had heads and bodies cropped out.

I don't know what kind of crappy software they are running, but I sure as hell won't be using them again

      • yes i found them very washed out and the color quality was so poor - worse than kmart (which most people swore off)!
