Just chiming in, if anyone is on the market for a 6P I think it's best to buy it straight from Google even if it's an extra $50-60.

The 6P, as great as it is, does have some issues with it that Google are ironing out. In most cases, there's no issues whatsoever with the device. However iff your handset has any issues, your best bet is to contact Google Customer Service straight in order for them to raise an RA and get a new one sent out to you rather than you having to go through specific retailers.

Ultimately at the end of the day the $50-60 difference translates into how valuable you consider your time should any issues arise later on.

    • Why is mine showing from $899.00?

$744 outright from Virgin. Aus stock.

    • Wondering if it comes with Virgin bloatware?

      • +1

        Nope. None. It's vanilla.

Don't wanna be a neg head but I would never go with Eglobal again. My phone started playing up after 2 months. I dealt with it then the other day it just got stuck on a boot loop with no way to restart it. Opened a ticket for a warranty claim on the Eglobal website, no response. That was 2 weeks ago and I've practically given up on getting an answer or my phone replaced.

    • Ive brought a Samsung note and a ssd from there and had no problems

      • I've a 2/3 good rate with them. One time they just held my money and kept saying soon they'd send my item. Ended up getting a refund when the item was being sold again as in stock but at a higher price.

No problems with the product? Or no problem with their aftersales support?

        • No, products were fine in my cases. Though my mo-in-law bought a Note 3 from them and it never worked right. We would be sat in the same room and I'd have full signal and she'd have no signal.

      • Where did you bring it from?

      • Yeah, that's awesome to hear, but it says nothing about their post-sale support, which is what I would say mainly differentiates the retailers. I don't know about others, but I'd easily pay an extra $50 or so if I'm guaranteed excellent post-sale support.

    • The measure of a company is how they handle problems. None of the above paints a good picture, only neutral to bad.

    • Boot loops are almost always software problems that can be solved by users themselves. What phone do you have?

      • Xperia M5, no real way to reset it. That wasn't the major issue. The major issue is the fact that it turns of sporadically and cannot be turned back on unless it is connected to a power source. Diabolical when on the road for work.

    • Same here. Had bought an HTC from these guys about 3 years ago, after 6 months my phone was "blessed" with the purple tinge camera defect, contacted them and they told me to open a case with them, ship it to hk, they would investigate and replace with new or refurbished, no time line for replacements…
I should've thought it thru last time but learnt my lesson. If am spending more than $500, Local warranty or big company warranty and support are worth the $$.

I hope they fix the damn Bluetooth issues soon on this phone. 6.01 was supposed to fix them but in most cases made them worse. How does this stuff escape then when testing devices before release? It's driving me insane.

    • Never had an issue on my 6p, but I'm using the 64gb one, although that shouldn't change anything.

      • As am I. 32gb is too small for a phone with no extendable memory. Try googling Nexus 6p Bluetooth problems and you'll see you are likely in the minority.

        • ah - I don't use BT in the car. Haven't had any issues otherwise. (Speakers or headset)

    • I have a 6p and haven't experienced any issues either. I have mine hooked up to my pebble 24/7 and it connects to my car with no problems. Is yours having trouble connecting to a specific device or just in general?

      • Google it. Mine works great with my live watch also. If I connect to my Holden's Bluetooth or a BT speaker at home then most of time I must reboot my phone in order to get any sound through wired headphones.

  • What are people's thoughts on moving from this from a Note 4? I went from the Note 3 to 4 on my last plan change and the difference was less then worth it… now I will go the outright routes. Can't help but think to still wait.

    • +1

Well I went from a Note 3 to this and honestly speaking I've questioned my choice a couple of times. This is the better phone, no doubt. But is it worth a $450~ changeover? I'm not so sure and this comes from someone who happily buys the latest tech without usually worrying much about the cost.

      I got a 64gb version for $744 at Xmas.

      • Thanks, I'm getting the feeling that each generations phone is a smaller and smaller improvement each time… I also like my home button too. Really torn, as I like getting something new too, but I can't just help think it's pointless atm.

        • +1

Compare the specs and you'll see there's little difference. I've got the 6p and my wife had got the note 4, and can tell you that there's very little reason to change unless you're like me and really hate Samsung's lack of updates and prefer updates software over megapixels on a camera.

    Screen too small.

    5.96" master race.

  • Still waiting on another good deal on the 64gb version.
Could not get to Costco when they had their deal on (not sure if SA even had it on).
32gb is just that little bit to small these days.

    • +1

I bought mine from there 2 days ago - they still had 2 left.
You've to go to the mobile counter (Vodafone, they try to sell it on a contract but you can buy it outright for $799.99).

  • It does have major build quality issues so make sure you don't wear them with jeans or tight pants and you'll be fine.

    • +2

      I think that's a user error, not a build quality issue ;)

      • Just the fact that tight pants can do that though is something people should be aware of. many posts on /r/android and stuff about that occuring, also issues with the side buttons and the glass screen coming off. I say it just because it would be muuuch better dealing with google warranty than these guys.

  • For about another $60~ you can get it from Costco for the 64g

32g is a little small these days
