Free Upgrade from Small Fries to Loaded Fries at McDonald's

150

This is an extension of the deal posted by bonky. Might be a bug in their system.

Basically ask the crew if you could upgrade your small fries to a regular loaded one. Not a medium or large! A loaded one. The smaller loaded one, not the share pack (probably even glitches wouldn't allow such unhealthiness :D ).

Price remains virtually the same. :)

Can this be done at the machines?
Or is it only at the counter?
Nice find by the way :)

    • Only on the counter. Did it two times. Maccas Park corner Pitt Street NSW

        That's a lot of Macca's in a day ;)

      • The title of your deal says small fries but the description says regular. Which is it?

        • Regular can mean Medium. OK editing that. :)

  • +1

Not a 'Freebie', still requires purchase…

    • Editing this post to reflect "Free upgrade". Thanks mate :)

        • No, no! If you go off the road, your insurance won't cover it. Straight on.

        • Not true for Macca's Australia since the 60's or something.

Once upon a time it would have been true. And probably still is in many other countries.

      • HA! You wouldn't want to know

      • +1

Loaded with all kinds of bad things - additives, preservatives, fat, cholesterol, chemicals, employees DNA

      True.
Order a Loaded Fries Guac+Salsa minus Guac and minus Salsa

      • So, a regular Loaded Fries Guac and Salsa then?

    • +1

Mine were actually quite good, I guess YMMV?

    • There's sometimes way too much sauce in one area of the box. Gross.

      • +3

My wife never complains about extra sauce in her box

You beauty. Yup agree though the bacon ones are yuck!

Yep tried the bacon one. Even drunk me didn't approve it.

McDonald must be competing for most unhealthy junk food of the year competition by releasing this menu.

Cheese and bacon is revolting, and I'm usually a lover of cheesy bacon fries.

    Guac and salsa is bearable.

  • +4

I was disappointed that poutine wasn't in the menu when Loaded Fries were out.

    • YESSS! Me too!

        that's what she said

How is begging for an upgrade a bargain? Seriously low standard for what's considered a bargain here lately.

  • I had the guacamole and salsa one and loved it. My only complaint is the fact that it doesn't come in a large size.

My 10yro turned up his nose at the bacon and cheese-like goop. He will literally eat anything in a fast food box, so this was big news at our place.

  • Amazing that they try to convince us they've changed their ways and then this. "Healthy options" apparently on their menu and not pushing the upsize anymore- yet come out with this junk.

    • +1

The age of Mcdonald's is over… the market for cheap crappy food is declining and Maccas for the first time in history is closing more stores than it's opening in the last few years.

Their healthy options suck — the healthiest thing on the menu is just a garden salad with lettuce, cucumber and tomato. A five year old kid could make that kind of salad. Their chicken wraps are, I guess, decent tasting, but poor value compared to what you could get from Subway.

I think they've tried a little too hard in going gourmet — some of their menu items are nice (the burgers are half decent) but the bacon-cheese and avocado fries are quite possibly the grossest things Mcdonalds have come up with. The real thing looks nothing like what they show in the photos!

They are trying very hard to rejuvenate though — see here and here for plans of their expansion of their new concept restaurant (coming to Singapore and Australia).

  • I just tried it out with 6 pack nuggets (small), it was $1.90 extra and their said that a Loaded Fries is equivalent to medium fries. I confused the (profanity) out of them when I said I wanted loaded fries guac+salsa minus the guac+salsa, and in the end I just agreed to have my small fries in a box to save face.

Still I must admit having my small fries in a loaded fries box was still pretty good because there was enough room to mix in the nuggets and tomato sauce to have a chicken nuggets+chips+tomato sauce fest which I love and is even better than consuming the items separately.

    • Let me try again tomorrow if it still works. :) Too much Maccas (and unhealthiness) for a day. :D
