Optus internet here and I've been customer for about a year, I wouldn't recommend these guys. Their servers (at least for me) are slow.

Just been reading the reviews and speed seems to be an issue with NordVPN. I've been using PIA for the last few months and speed on Optus NBN has been pretty good.

      • i am with nord vpn.. have not noticed any speed problems

  • yeah i have them, quite slow, but if you're like julian assange or Snowden, you can pay with tumbled bitcoin from another vpn and your good to go

Said the same on a few other similar posts - NONE of these VPN offers are really worth it unless you REALLY (for whatever reason) need the anonymity. If you just wanna route your internet through something (to hide your IP or for whatever reason) you can setup a tunnel (using something like OpenVPN) for a lot cheaper and resulting in a much higher quality service. Personally currently got mine setup on a VPS costing me $5/mo (around the same price as this 'deal') which I also use to test various websites and servers, alongside the VPN.

tl;dr: Unless you're Julian Assange or something, simply buy a VPS and setup your own personal VPN - it's cheaper, lower ping and higher speeds.

    • Which company do you use to host your VPS, and do they allow bitorrent?

      • RansomIT, messaged them and had custom package done up. I get 2GB of RAM, 2CPU cores, 10GB SSD and 100gb bandwidth.

With torrenting, pretty sure it says you can't use then as a seedbox (hosting torrents on server for others to download), but using it as a VPN for downloading torrents onto your computer wouldn't even be noticeable and I assume would be fine.

    • Can you share details please, I am interested thanks.

      • RansomIT, it's a custom package in their Melbourne location. The staff member(s) are quite helpful with doing up custom packages for cheaper prices, especially when you're willing to give up a little bandwidth allowance. Personally went with 100GB (rather than 250GB) data and in return was offered 2GB of RAM+2CPU cores, rather than 512MB+1CPU core.

  • Yeap.. I signed up about 9? months ago and find that their connections are slow and a lot of servers are down most of the time.. wouldn't recommend.

Crap service, very slow, complete waste of money.

  • rubbish

  • Terrible bandwidth. Still have 6 months access with them but have moved to another provider due to poor service.

  • Don't bother with them, slow as all hell.
