    Same deal

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/232211

    should be combined…

    • +2

      I dunno….If it was Dreamworld, it would be a separate deal, wouldn't it?
      Different state, different parks.

      Plus that deal has already been up a day. I know I don't normally look past today's deals and I wouldn't want people to miss out.

      • +3

        If it was Dreamworld, it would be a separate deal, wouldn't it?

        probably…

        But this is the same company, same dates, same conditions…

        You're going to end up with the same comments about all the excluded workers who work just as hard as these people and are possibly paid a lot less…

  • Terrible what about unemployed and people on parole?

    • +3

      Agreed, I reckon dole bludgers should get free tickets too…

      • +1

        What about the one legged,lesbian,midget, blind trans-gender Society?
        WHERES THEIR BLOODY TICKETS?

        • +7

          What about the one legged,lesbian,midget, blind trans-gender Society?

          They can get stuffed….

        • -2

          @jv: you are an idiot

    • +4

      They should get a job.

    Doctors, Nurses, Carers & Social Service Workers

    Awesome. My doctor friends who are on about $300K can get free entry to Wet'n'Wild !!! I'll pass it on to them…

    • I'll pass it on to them…

      Good chance to use all those unused call credits hey, jv? ;)

      • Sorry, I used the wrong word. They are more like groupies…

        • +1

          My thoughts exactly.
          It's hardly like Doctors are unsung local heroes slogging it out for minimum wage.
          That's not to say that they do not work hard, blah, blah, blah but do they really need freebies at Wet and Wild on top of all the freebies they get from drug reps et al?
          Personally I don't see why teachers deserve it either but that's just me.
          Cops - huh, they already get plenty of freebies (and that's just the legit ones).
          I'd much rather the unpaid vollies than paid workers get freebies.

        • +1

          @2stroksmokr:
          Damn - that sounds just like something I would say!
          ;-)

        • +2

          @2stroksmokr:

          Doctors freebies? Like highlighters, pens and mousepads from drug companies? Awesome

          Teachers who work 80 hours a week for what equates to below minimum wage per hour?

          Cops who risk their lives every day protecting you?

          Its good that this company is rewarding these selfless jobs. Doctors might make decent money, but its a bloody hard job.

        • @thorton82: teachers that do 80 h weeks: please advise where this occurs, and I'll send my kids there.

          Pure bs unless there is a reason NOT to WANT to be home.

          Ps. I've come from a generational family of great educators. They work hard, but please, 80 hours!!

        • @BigTed:

          Haha :)

          @thorton82:

          BigTed, I'll leave this one for you.

          @pensionday:
          I'm a teacher and I probably work 50-60h weeks on average. This week I've probably done about the 80 mark.

          So… thanks.

        • @pensionday:

          Ever heard of marking tests and essays? Preparing notes or materials for class?

        • +3

          @2stroksmokr: My total "earnings" from all drug reps combined: about 50 pens, 2 stress balls, a couple of cheap water bottles and a travel coffee mug which broke and spilled hot coffee all over me on the first use. Basically living the high life with all my kickbacks hey? ;-)

          Edit: Oh and once I got some mints. They were delicious.

        • @djmatt24:
          Don't disagree. Average is the key. Keep up the good work, we need more teachers like yourself and recognition to match

        • +2

          @spillmill: no, this is foreign to me. I only educate both here and abroad. I'll look into these concepts, thanks

        • +1

          @pensionday:

          Better late than never!

      What's stopping you from being a doctor and earning that much?

      • How do you know I'm not a doctor?

      • +1

        You didn't catch on….was copying and pasting from other thread.

        I'm an accountant so bring on the free day we can go and swim in all our money!

        • You didn't catch on…

          Oh the SHAME !!!

        • @jv:
          Oh the PAIN !!!

    • +1

      You missed "medical specialists". Everytime I go its about a 10 minute consult for $400.

    • +4

      What specialty are these friends in? And how long has it taken them to get there?

      I'm a junior doctor, I do overtime (unpaid) every day, and I earn under $70k. Sure, it's above minimum wage, but I've got 7 years of full time study (read: minimal income, ongoing expenses) and a nice fat HELP debt behind me.

      Certainly not a sob story, and yes we earn more than minimum, but thinking we're all raking in $300k is a joke.

    Does it count it you are a volunteer fire fighter?

    • +1

      Yeah how do volunteer firefighters prove their position. It's not like we get ID cards…

      • +2

        Thanks for the tip ;-)

  • Um what about Engineers? How dare they conveniently forget us

    • You could join the army?

    • -1

      Engineers get shitted on in this country. When someone in 'marketing' (as if that is a real job), gets triple what an engineer gets, there is something wrong. Fake jobs like DJs, photographers and anyone involved in marketing in any way really piss me off. Real jobs like engineers are the ones that should have the rewards.

      You guys can't even organise your own union, and you want others to do things for you? Pfft!

  • +3

    They forgot to include lawyers

    • +1

      Could be expensive if one of the lawyers breaks their wrist. Maybe that's why they're not invited.

    God damn it..the wife is in childcare but she has no photo ID or proof of employment with photo

    • isn't she registered?

      • yeah she has a blue card if thats what you mean? But it doesn't have a photo

        Tickets can be pre-purchased online and a valid industry Photo ID and / or proof of employment with photo ID must be presented to gain admission to the park

        • -1

          yeah she has a blue card if thats what you mean? But it doesn't have a photo

          I'm assuming it has her name…

          And her driver's licence with her name has her photo…

          or proof of employment with photo ID

        • Blue card and payslip???

  • -5

    haha this is probably the silliest 'bargain/deal' I've ever come across , if it should even be called a 'bargain'. Proving you're a doctor or 'nurse' - what a joke. who can verify? just HOW do you verify that. couldn't you make a fake 'business card' and show them? anyways, why are people who are already earn high enough salaries getting these 'freebies' in the 1st place? Doctors go on holidays every end of the year. Teachers who are on holiday when students are on holidays - that's 8 plus 6 weeks holidays per year. - Gotta be beyond a joke this stupid freebie is. oh yeah, you forgot to add in 'Politicians' - is that a valid 'profession'? What slap in the face for the average hard working citizens of Australia. bloody oath I say

      I'm a casual university lecturer on a PhD scholarship earning about $28k per annum and I'm stoked. Instead of being annoyed you can't use it why not be happy for those that can, there is plenty of other companies not doing anything at all like this.

      Tldr; great news, haters gonna hate

    Is this like a theme park pass where 1 ticket entitles entry to all parks? Or do you have to buy a ticket for each park?
    eg. if I bring my family along (me + 3 others) and wish to enter 3 theme parks, do I pay $90 or $270 in total?

    Doctors Local Hero's Or Zero Hero's Cant fix my simple shoulder pain from last 3 years

  • Nurses, I wonder if this covers Dental Nurse. Anyone???

  • Does this occur every year?

  • +1

    Yep, I am one of those teachers who work long hours. However I teach adult refugees, so cant help out with peoples children. I take them to job interviews and even local clubs such as men's shed, because they don't have transport but do have mental health issues because of the trauma they have experienced. Some have spent up to 17 years in refugee camps, some have never had the chance of any kind of education because of the civil war in their country of origin. Some have never even held a pencil. I give those extra hours and my own car as transportation and buy them stationary out of my own money because I love what I do, and I love seeing people learn, grow and achieve their potential. However, I have a yearly pass and don't need the freebie, but some of my colleagues are lone mums, who got off their bums and got a degree rather than sitting at home on the dole, and they are doing it tough. I cant wait to let them know about this freebie:) Thanks to the person who posted it.
