Voss 800ml Still Water $3.70 at Woolworths

900

Voss Water is $3.70 again in the nice glass bottle. Will drink the water but don't care how good it may be - only wanted it for the bottle and was surprised that it was $3.70 as the shelf said $5.

    Glass is not a bargain

    • Depends on what type of glass you get. If you know what I mean.

      • +26

Sad world if people think paying almost $4 for a glass bottle is a bargain

        • +3

Ive had my voss bottle… 3 years now. Yeah like $1.25 a YEAR for a bottle is a total ripoff.

I should be buying a $10 plastic bottle that will break after a year at most!

        • +1

          @Hellman109: never spent $10 on a plastic bottle :)

        • +1

I dont, I buy glass Voss bottles >.>

      • A glassing?

        • +1

I think he means meth. Glass is one of its euphemisms.

  • More expensive than petrol.

And petrol is at a low price at the moment.

    • +46

Yeah but petrol tastes gross until you've had 3 or 4

      • Cottees mate. Apple raspberry,sugar-free. Sugar is unhealthy.

        • +2

          Don't ask Mary Poppins

    • But you buy it for the bottle. the option to refill.

its glass and not cheap arse soft plastic like Mt Franklin and others have become.

So the water inside us just a bonus.

  • +7

Youre buying the bottle which comes with free water

    • I like how you see things. But the justification isn't completed

  • +1

I bought one. Water out of glass is nice but I don't know how long the cap will last.

    • +12

I dropped a bottle of Voss once. The lid broke… The bottle didn't.

      • +1

        ^ this.

          @tommyc: Ya, das boot!

      • +5

I put bottle full of water in freezer for quick chill water, totally forget. The bottle broke, the lid didn't =) :D

      • If you're in an office setting you don't need a cap or lid. Just have it sit next to you on the desk refill constantly.

    • Had mine for 12 months, cap is still fine.

  • +1

    Should just sell the bottle.

    • +9

Sounds funny but I saw an empty bottle in Salvation Army store for sale for $2

      • I've seen some on Ebay for heaven's sake.

    Voss-STILL-water

Yep, insane price for water. No matter what, it's STILL just water.

  • +2

I won't neg, 'cause water is healthy, but, if you are paying $4.63 per litre, I think you're doing it wrong!

eg. ~$5.50 for 24x600ml on special - much more a bargain, if you have to pay for it.

    • +8

If we're going down the route of price.. I pay $3.80 per 101 kilolitres of water, I also only have to go to the kitchen to get it. Although I am cheap, that's why I'm on this site.

    • You buy voss for the bottle, the water is just included with it.

They're one of the best drinking bottles you can get IMO, cheap, strong, last forever, good opening size, etc.

      • +1

The other important aspect is safety. Plastic leaches more than glass into water

        • -4

That is not important because no food grade plastic is dangerous at all.

          @Diji1:
          No?
          Here you go http://www.breastcancer.org/risk/factors/plastic
Go to the part 'To reduce your exposure to other chemicals in plastics:'

We all know about BPA, but who knows what other things they'll find in 10 years.

          P's I didn't neg u btw

I've posted plenty of deals, better than this, which never made it to the front page.
Why does a $3+ bottle of water make it to the front page?? :|
Woolies 1.5L water costs 70c, tasted fine to me. Not coles water, though, didn't like it.

    • +6

Why does a $3+ bottle of water make it to the front page?? :|

Maybe because the OP's not a sook?

      • Oh, okay. I understand now.
        Thank you.

Not sure why people are saying water in plastic bottles is a better deal. You're not buying for the water, you're buying for the bottle. A plastic bottle is basically wrecked after a few weeks. If you want a good reusable bottle, this is a good deal. As a comparison, here's a smaller glass bottle that doesn't even come with a lid (or water); $28 http://www.shopnaturally.com.au/beautiful-beaches-replacemen…

  • No one seriously buys these for the water do they? I bought an 800ml bottle for my fridge (would have bought it if it was empty, the water is irrelevant) and I'm going to buy the 375ml for work sometime. They're just really convenient, nice bottles to drink from.

  • An empty glass bottle (presumably for water) costs $4.95 from IKEA (WA/SA) - http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/80288366 - so this saves $1.25 and includes your first fill! What's not to like?

    • Plus you are saving petrol by not going all the way to IKEA….where you would spend a fortune on stuff you don't really need on TOP of your 4.95 $ bottle. Or maybe that's just me.

      • Plus the IKEA is 600ml whereas Voss is 800ml

    • dude that's a plastic bottle. Lol. Just drove to Ikea to find out.

      • You know what will really hurt more… From the description:

        product description & measurements
        Lid/ Body: PCTG plastic
        Seal: Silicone rubber

        • +1

it's all good. I enjoy mazes.

  • I actually really like their sparkling water (I love sparkling/mineral water in general) but the glass bottle is an added bonus. I don't buy it that often though, paying that much for water is just insane.

    • +1

You need a soda stream for the plain soda water. It's great.

    • capi is better - and cheaper :)

  • I love these bottles. Ever drank from a plastic bottle that's been left in a hot car? There is a faint taste of plastic in the water.

I can leave these bottles in the car under the aussie sun and the water still tastes fresh, then just discard the bottles after a few weeks save the washing.

    • Like I said above, that's because plastic leaches in to the water. Most soft drink bottles should not be left in the sun.

  • Never known the obsession with these bottles… only tend to see the <25 age group with them however… its not a status symbol, it's the high quality brand labelled glass bottle! That's why I buy it.. yeah..

  • My inlaws bought some of these on special and I laughed but they refill them and keep them in an esky with an ice pack while they are out working all day on the road.
The glass bottles stay really cold all day in the cooler and they love having the chilled water at hand for the whole day.

    • How's laughing now Mr. I don't have any cold water. Ha ha haaaaaaaa

  • My workplace banned glass drink bottles in our vehicles due to safety concerns. There was a reported case of a vehicle fire started by a clear glass water bottle in our USA office.
They now hand out plastic drink bottles with a wetsuit like sleeve covering. Also can get a belt holster or waist strap if we ask.

I use these for cold brewing tea. Just fill the bottle with water, add 2 tea bags of choice (I like green tea, earl grey, english breakfast, or any other ceylon), close lid, leave in fridge for 6-12 hours, remove from fridge, remove tea bags and enjoy throughout the day. You can add simple syrup, lemon, herbs etc after brewing too. Good refreshing drink. Cold brewing also results in a sweeter tea due to less tannins being involved. It also extracts less caffeine compared to hot water brewing.

    • Fantastic advice and it does work!
I enjoy cold green tea better

Anytips on how to clean the bottle? Theres green tea residue at the bottom and my fingers are too far.

      • Warm water, few drops of detergent, cap on, and then shake shake shake, swirl, shake shake :)

Vinegar+water might also help if you leave it for a hour.

    This doesn't include sparkling water?

  • +2

I dont buy them but the true bargain in these bottles is you can make a stencil and spray with glass etcher spray or paste to personalise the bottle with a frosted look. Give as present, make pretty patterns ect.

  • This is cheap compared to the £40 bottle of water they had on that Expensive Taste show they aired last night.
