Microsoft's guide to change your region in Windows 10:

To change the country or region setting. Open Region and Language by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Region and Language. Click the Location tab, select your location from the list, and then click OK.

    using a pic with a xbox one banner is a bit misleading… when i realised its for windows i felt depressed about the time of my life spent.

    • That is how it shows in store. Its not for xbox but we can get achievement points. Besides its Xbox live banner not xbox one.

      I generally use the address of the Australian Embassy in whatever country I'm purchasing from. Technically it's Australian soil, right?

    • well already found a big problem. for some reason every time you die in game the game idk crashes? no error message just brings me back to the desktop and game isnt on anymore not even as a proccess.

        • @holden93: It's possibly a driver issue. I've had a similar problem where a game would just simply disappear much like you described. Event logs looked like it had something to do with drivers vs some other process on my PC. I re-download the latest drivers for my video card and everything worked fine from there.

        • @Spectator: well i just uninstalled all junk programs and games i don't want and used ccleaner and now it didnt crash after dieing.

          sweet :) time to smash this game.

    -Switched country to Ukraine
    -Bought Tomb Raider in Windows store
    -added my NAB debit card with the address: 4 Institutska Street, Kiev 01001, Ukraine (no state)
    -charged $12.95 AUD + the temporary .50c charge
    -switched country back to Australia
    -downloaded game. Saved $48

      I didn't even change my address, Just put Ukraine as country and added a 0 to postcode
      Downloading ok, 4GB so far

    Man Microsoft need to update their store download IU. I cant tell how much longer i have to download.

    Also FYI if anyone installed it to you c: you can go into apps under system settings and "move" it to another drive.

    • Thanks, I was trying to figure out where the option was to choose where to install to. I have windows 10 on my SSD that's only 100GB for loading windows very fast and it was the only option for a 30gb game.. I need to put it on my 3TB hard drive

  • Not working anymore? Changed to Ukraine in settings on Win10. Followed link to Ukraine M$ store (Came up as the app). Used a Ukraine address.. Try to buy. Says "Contact Microsoft Support - Can't process your payment"

    Tried my AMEX and 2 VISA.. Microsoft keeps charging me 0.50c each time.. yay…

    Anyone got it working in the last 30mins or so?

    you wonder why people pirate games when the damn companies won't take your money when you try and give it to them!

    • the reason i have pirated games as pc gamers get fucvked with broken ports (im looking at you ubisoft) one day ill get to finish the ghost recon future soldier campaign ………

  • Purchased this in the last 5 minutes. Didn't bother adding a "Ukraine" address and use you own local one except add a "0" at the end of the post code. I followed the example of a fellow ozbargainer and it worked.

    • So your payment options on your Microsoft account is credit card with your normal address though still with Ukraine as the country and an extra 0 at the end of your postcode?

          Weird, let me know, i just checked my CBA Visa and i definitely am, its hard to miss when its every transaction in the list (i've tried a few times now :P)

        • they are checking it out now. they can see the 50c at their end. i can't in my netbank. on hold atm.

    yeah rebooted.. windows update etc.. i think it maybe that i use a local account to login to windows? rather than the account i am trying to buy the app with? though i would think the appstore would be smart enough to work with that…

    • Try to reset store app cache. Also someone mentioned they had to clean system cache files by right clicking on C drive. Also try different payment method or card.

      • Cheers, tried both the store clear and the cache, also tried indian store (~$18.50 AUD btw) and got the same error :(

        • did you restart device before trying again and check for updates again? If not may be try windows store digital gift card? But not sure if it will work on international order.

          Thought about using the gift card, but i'm doubtful it'll work on an international order :(

  • To get it working I had to use the MediaCreationTool and I saved it to a USB (to save downloading again if there were issues) and selected to download updates.

    If you have more than 1 SATA deveice, you have to unplug them all to update via MCT, really stupid. Anyhow, after a day of messing about my Windows is up to date and I am downloading the game.

    Worth it!

  • Got the same problem as above, can't pay as it gives a "We're having trouble processing your payment and we'd like to get it sorted out." error while charging 50c every time.

    It might be due to my CBA mastercard debit card. For those who had it working, what card were you using?

    Edit: have tried NAB VISA with the same problem.

    • I used my CBA Debit Mastercard.

      • Does the Microsoft account you are using match your payment details?

        • I am not sure what you mean. When you change the region you have to enter a new payment method, I entered my real details but just added a 0 to the end of my area code.

          I use the same card to purchase products on the Windows 10 Store and the Xbox 360 / One store.

        • @emwearz: Yes I've tried that but when I rebooted my pc I was forced to login again to my Hotmail account which is why I was wondering if it checked the cc details against my Hotmail account.

          Edit: Just tried removing my hotmail account and double checked the CC details but still got the same error. Looks like I have to give up.

    I have latest update (I specifically remember 1511 update completing as I just installed win10)

    • Same here, tried 4 times with 2 different cards. Have been charged $0.50 four times already, they better refund me!

  • make sure you adjust the date and time and you should be able to download the game.

  • Yea same issue here with the "Cannot process your payment" error. Tried two Westpac cards and tried added credit to my account via the website but that didn't work either.

    I've really wanted to play this game but couldn't justify the normal price tag as I know the previous game only took me about 10 hours to complete.

  • Just tried this and it works for me.
    Used my actual address with Ukraine as country and added 0 on postcode with a CBA Mastercard.
    No problems at all.

  • Had the same issue that others were having last night and could find a workaround, using a CBA debit mastercard, so annoying as I would have loved to play the game but cant afford the full price right now, hopefully someone works out what stopping some of us from getting it!

    I'm still having troubles, and I'm noticing a trend with people with MasterCard getting it to work, and people with VISA having trouble.

    If you have a VISA that worked, or a MasterCard that didn't, can you post a reply to this? (maybe with the bank as well if applicable)

    • Westpac Mastercard and American Express didn't work.

    • Pretty sure that's not the problem.

      There have been people succeeding with 28 degrees and mine got refused. I also have a ING Mastercard debit card and that didn't work either. Both of them show the 50c charge but gave the same error.

      I've tried Citibank Visa and Westpac Visa/AMEX and neither worked. Buying other apps on the Windows Store works though. Weird.

      • Try logging out from your account then logging in on your device? check if the details and time are correct on your account? may be change time on your device to local time of Ukraine :D

  • I had the problem with payment and was wondering if it was because my account wasn't verified. Has anyone who got refused got a verified account?

    • I tried with an unverified account and again with a local account but haven't tried 'verifying' it. Could you let me know if that works? The increasing amount in 50c fees is getting a bit ridiculous for me.

  • Is anyone else having problems with the game downloading, I purchased the game fine but it keeps stopping mid download. Sometimes it will resume, where as other times it just starts again. I think the most I have managed to download is 14 gb

    • if you read the description in the store it mentions that the download bar is bugged and even though it restarts, seems to change amounts etc the download is probably fine. mine now says download is at 3.0 of 11.1 Gb when it started out at 0.3 out of 26Gb

    • Best thing is to look at your Network Performance in Task Manager. If it's utilising the network bandwidth then you should be good.

    Tried resetting windows.

    Tried logging in to separate account.

    Tried indian and ukraine store.

    Maybe it's ISP? I'm VIC, Optus cable.

      • Yes I have. But it says "not compatible with your device". Tried it on a low end tablet and an old computer with with core 2 duo and old graphics card.

  • so this worked fine for me.
    just to confirm for others how my experience went.
    1- Changed Region to Ukraine (no reboot required - Windows10)
    2- Went to Windows Store (which was now in Russian?) and bought game for 234(whatevers)
    3- Went to Buy/Checkout and a box popped up asking me to add a payment method for the new Region
    4- Add CC with my normal details EXCEPT wouldn't accept postcode so added a 0 at the end as others had mentioned AND put the country as Ukraine NOT Australia (not sure if this was necessary but it worked)
    5- Windows Store processed payment and started downloading (took a little while to start up)
    pretty sure the sale was on for a few days, so if it doesnt work maybe if you wait 24hrs and try again if there was some kind of transaction block(or contact credit card company)?
