        Newer versions of Denuvo (v3 & v4) seem to be impossible to crack. Amongst other things, Denuvo has specific functions for each different make and iteration of CPU. Soon every AA game will use it :( Just Cause 3 is another recent uncracked Denuvo protected release.

    "Speaking of which, there are a few issues you should be aware of should you plan to download the game from the Windows 10 Store. Since this is likely by far the biggest single download available in the store, Microsoft has yet to update the UI to reflect such large data transfers, as noted by the following:

    Windows 10 download progress bar does not accurately display progress.
    Due to a UI issue download progress may not be accurately displayed (despite downloading without issue).
    When pausing and resuming the download, it may appear that the download has reset (appears to start from 0). However, actual download progress has not been affected."

      Is that the same error that stops you from installing/updating other apps? If so, let me know and I'll post a powershell script that fixes it. Took me ages to figure it out once. (if it's the same problem)

      EDIT: Found the script. Run this from <Admnistrator>cmd prompt:

      PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

      It simply re-installs the store, but properly. Had to use that on a Win10 tablet last year and a WinRT tablet.

      :/ 107mbps average download on my 113mbps connection I think it's okay.

      And also silky smooth on nVidia card with everything except blur and AA on full.

      Engine is still the same you know? Just the launcher encasulation and overlay Xbox vs Steam

    Oh god, getting this game couldn't have been more of a Microsoft like situation.

    Bought it on my surface after the region swap, had no dramas. Appeared in my store and started to download, which I cancelled because I want to play it on the PC.

    Jumped on the Windows store on my gaming PC, got a "Something's wrong on our side" message when I tried to download it.

    Looking at the page, it seems that my Windows version never updated to 1511 for some reason, despite being on the previous version since October.

    Tried about a billion different combinations of 'Check for updates', restarting, changing "way updates are delivered' and all a manner of things that are obfuscated through terrible menu selections. In a very Microsoft way, it helpfully told me it was up to date, despite their own website telling me that it's actually three months behind.

    So, onto the googling. Tried out a number of ways to force a windows update, all of which no longer work since Microsoft obfuscated them.

    Started to download the entire windows 10 image through the media update tool (at least, I presume that was what was happening. It doesn't actually say anything beyond "click here to update" and "X% downloaded".)

    Saw in this thread someone posted a link to the Microsoft Catalog that JUST had the updates I needed. Couldn't find this on google anywhere - awesome.

    Opened it in Firefox. Sorry, you need a newer version of Internet Explorer to view this. Open it in Edge. Sorry, you need a newer version of Internet Explorer to… hang on, isn't this the latest Internet Explorer? Open it in Internet Explorer. "Sorry you need the latest…" - what the heck?

    Close and reopen Internet Explorer. Starts downloading. Wait for it to download slowly.

    Aaaand "This update is not applicable for your computer". Arrrgh!

    Getting the game for $12 is awesome. But Microsoft have a hell of a long way to go if they want the Windows Store to be a decent platform for games.

      Change windows update settings from Automatic to Manual. Then check for updates.

      Just purchased as of 10pm AU time, after doing everything you just did and the update took a good half hour.

      I have the same update failure on my PC. I suspect because my PC doesn't have a mic which needed to use Cortana with this update.

      Hoo boy.

      I was hesitant to use the Media Creation Tool as I read that people had it de-activated their licenses. So I closed the window after it had finished it's download.

      I soon realised when coming back to it after finding no other working solution that if you close the tool, it needs to re-download the -entire-(profanity)-windows-package-again. So that was another few hours / overnight.

      I wish I lived in Microsoft's fantasy always online unlimited fast internet world so that I could use basic features of Windows and my Xbox. Maybe I should move to Redmond, California.

      At any rate, after much cursing and banging my head I eventually redownloaded the entire windows 10 again, did the Media Creation Tool upgrade and can thankfully confirm that this didn't remove any of my software licenses as I feared.

      Now to download the 26 GB of Tomb Raider and hope the Windows Store doesn't shit the bed in the process.

        Generally it's a good idea to ensure you have a copy of your key somewhere. If you still don't know it I recommend doing a quick google of "Windows 10 key powershell" and you'll see a number of options to get a copy of it.

        Then keep it somewhere either physical or on the cloud. (I have a keepass file in my dropbox with a number of my goodies)

      Have a look at your Network usage (Task Manager) if it looks like it's downloading just be patient. I found the download progress only updated in 0.5GB increments

    Ok so there's a little problem with this version of the game.
    The game by default doesn't properly support SLI scaling. So you use these tweaks via Nvidia Inspector to enable proper SLI scaling:

    Now the problem is, when Win10 app Xbox launches the game, nvidia control panel or nvidia inspector cannot recognize the .exe being launched…hence never applying the said profile. So…you are stuck with single GPU usage.

    Still trying to figure this out..will post if I can find some solution.

        Nah that's a different problem…of the exe not switching over to a dedicated GPU. Usually in case of laptops which has adaptive GPU settings to use the Intel Onboard by default and switch over to the dedicated GPU when using any GPU intensive app.

        Problem here is the tomb raider exe is wrapped via Windows DRM. When the DRM triggers that exe it launch, nvidia can't detect it. Till the exe is detected, none of it's profiles/sli settings are applied, and the Default Global Settings is used from the Nvidia Applications Profile.

    Yes I too had problems with latest windows update - had to keep checking the windows notification icon and finding that it would say "updates couldnt be installed" or "Restart to install updates." After clicking through that and restarting about 20 times, my PC finally finished the downloads and decided to update itself at 9am on Friday, a process which took about 4 hours, during which time I couldnt do any work - kinda ruined my work day!

      Not really sure, the Windows Store installer is very basic. Does not have a manual validation for files, nor does it have option to add launch commands or change download locations. I am guessing its worth a try to download it on your laptop then copy the folder over. The purchase gives you 10 instances of install via your account btw.

    Anyone having issues with the 1511 update not appearing, if you came from windows 7 or 8 you'll need to delete the old system backup files that allow you to revert to 8/7. You can do this by going through disk cleanup and allowing it to clean up system files.

        When I bought it, the link launched the Windows Store metro app and I purchased it through there.

        I didn't have to deal with translating the page.

        This was in Windows 10 on my personal PC mind you. If you're trying to do it on a work computer running Windows 7 I'm not sure whether it would be the same way.
