Similar to last year's deal but only 4 weeks extended trial this year (expires April 26, 2016).

The first 5,000 league commissioners to create and complete their AFL Fantasy Classic or Elite league by 23:59 (AEDT) on February 28, 2016 will receive an extended free trial of AFL Live Pass ending April 26, that commences when the AFL Live Voucher is activated. If the user does not cancel the subscription prior to the 26th April, it will automatically roll on to a paid weekly subscription charging the user at $4.99 a week thereafter. The extended free trial of AFL Live Pass is valued at $24.95 (including GST).

Definitely not as good as last year's annual subscription but may still benefit some!! Given the 2016 season only starts March 24, you pretty much get 1 month free of the regular season. You would get any pre-season games included as well.

Once your league is created —> Go to Settings —> Manage Coaches / Add Celebs. You can add another 5 celebrity players.

          I SMS'd everyone I could think had a Telstra service (or knew someone with a Telstra Service) and then over the next 6 weeks or so, anyone I met who was a footyhead, I'd tell them what to do.

    Am I missing something? you can create a league with only 6 spots and as the main poster suggested you can add 5 celeb players to your team which completes it.

    Does the 6 person league w/ celebs not count for the live pass?

      Can't say for sure. But based on last year's, a "complete" league consisted of 16 teams. It might work with 6 but I'd rather be on the safe side and fill it to 16!

      The channel 7 app wont include the football, as their licence doesn't cover online (that was sold exclusively to Telstra). Agree that its a pretty crap deal though, especially after the year free in 2015. Frankly, its a poor app and way overpriced for standard definition quality

      Foxtel Go has most (maybe all) games, so if your parents/friends/whoever are not utilising both of their logins, you can borrow one permanently.

    Personally I'm a fan of the herald sun version but I'll try this one again.

    For this year I have joined CrownBet which live streams the AFL games to my iPhone which is what AFL live pass does I think.

    Joining CrownBet is free (over 18 etc though) so this might be a good alternative for some.

      Well I joined Crownbet just to get the free $50 and then used another free $50 thing for the races which fortuitously became $160 due to pure fluke bets on cup day. Haven't touched it since.

      Now I'm going to use it to watch my AFL games and for something that have effectively GIVEN me over $200, I'm very happy with the deal. 😄
