  • A little bit annoying to signup, you register online for them to call you.

Lol read that as "$50 Google Credit" initially. Time for another coffee

  • he join fee is $49 for basic so you are getting 1 year new membership?

Since the starter solution requires $49 yearly membership fee, this would equal to an easy entrance to allow you to use goget - means you still need to pay everytime when you use a car (around $10 per hour).

Compare to its competitor CarNextDoor, which instead of charginge a yearly $50 membership, charges a $5 booking fee but typical hourly rate is $5 - $8. With this deal, goget is on par with carnextdoor. Without this deal, goget's yearly fee is too imposing to interest me.

But CarNextDoor is not available for people in Adelelaide and Brisbane and seems to have less cars available.

also, goget.com.au seems to own the cars they share - I'll try to see if it is the case - since they have no webpages about how to be an owner-sherer, while CarNextDoor is a community-based service.

    • the full day book with goget is the value, since it get's 150km included (goget don't charge for fuel),
mostly when choosing from the daily special cars (special black board banner in the website) that are 19.00aud off per day.

cars condition with goget are on par with a decent car rental,
and personally i like the flexibilty to chose between lot of different vehicles depending on the needs (for business use is awesome)

will have to check carnextdoor cause is a while i didnt compare services.

  • Yea personally I'd prefer to have $0 credit and first year sign up fee waived (which they actually offer quite often).
Initially thought this was for first year waived and $50 credit. Now that would be good..

Btw pro tip for GoGet: There is no hourly rate charged between 12am-6am. Probably not often you can/would drive between those hours, but I drove at that time to pick up a sofabed from a friend. So I paid $3.20 instead of about $20ish.

  • They set up a stall over the weekends at Ikea Tempe waving the first year fees. Perfect for buying those beds and mattresses and then renting a van to truck it around!

  • Reckon this can be used with joining a student account?
