The mid-size electric SUV has an 800V electrical architecture and can be charged at up to 450kW on DC power and 22kW using AC power.
Using a 360kW charger, if you can find one in Australia, you can charge a 7X RWD from 10 to 80 per cent in 13 minutes and in 16 minutes for other variants (claimed).
With a 22kW home wallbox, Zeekr says it takes 4.5 hours for the RWD to be charged from 10 to 100 per cent, or 5.5 hours in the others.
The Performance can do the 0-100km/h dash in a claimed 3.8 seconds, and also features active air suspension with continuous damper control.
Ground clearance can be raised by up to 45mm, and there's also an off-road mode.
The 7X measures 4787mm long, 1650mm tall and rides a 2900mm wheelbase, making it 5mm shorter than a Model Y but on a 10mm longer wheelbase.
There's 539 litres of cargo space at the rear, and up to 62L under the bonnet.
The 7X comes standard with a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A 36.2-inch augmented reality head-up display is optional, while the flagship Performance features electric front and rear doors and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats.
There's a suite of active safety and driver assist features, powered by 12 cameras and one radar system. These include adaptive cruise control, a 3D surround-view camera, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and Zeekr's Full Automatic Park Assist.
The 7X also supports over-the-air software updates, and Zeekr says these features will continue to improve over time and also gain new functionality.
As with other Zeekr models, the 7X is backed by a seven-year vehicle warranty, with seven years of roadside assistance.
Zeekr is owned by Chinese auto giant Geely, which also controls Polestar, Lotus and Volvo, and the 7X joins a pair of electric vehicles (EVs) already on sale Down Under: the X small crossover SUV, and the large 009 people mover.

I get the feeling this New mid-size electric SUV undercuts Tesla Model Y

      • +46

        No it doesn't.
Tesla RWD Y to Vic is $64,373 drive away.
Zeeka RWD to Vic is $64,379 drive away.
        So its $6 more expensive.

        • -3

An I'm pretty sure the second-hand market for Tesla exists, whereas Zeekr…

Every OZBer should know how TCO works…

          • +9

@1st-Amendment: obviously. hard to get second hand markets when they are no second hand cars

        • +16

Lol in NSW it's $259 more expensive than the 2025 Tesla Model Y. Why on Earth would anyone buy this no name EV over a Tesla Model Y or the cheaper BYD Sealion 7 at only $58.7k? I have a feeling sales will be a record low and they'll have to cut the price. There's no deal here, stay away from this car. If you ever decide to sell it, you'll severely regret not going with a Tesla or a BYD.

          • +7

@supersabroso: sit in one and find out?

          • +16

@supersabroso: Zeekr has been getting lots of positive reviews here and overseas. It's considered a premium EV brand. Sub-brand of Geely who owns Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus as per @tight8's comment.

          • +14

@supersabroso: I'm willing to bet you've never sat in one, let alone driven one. It's in a different league to the Tesla and the BYD, in literally every aspect. It makes some German marques look cheap.

Concerns regarding ongoing support are valid, but the 7x is easily the better car, and by a significant margin.

          • -1

@supersabroso: "Why on Earth would anyone buy this no name EV over a Tesla Model Y"

Someone that wants a car and some rear buttons?

          • +6

@supersabroso: Make sure to Google it before speaking up, so you don’t look foolish.

          • +4

@supersabroso: While you may not know it, it’s a known brand in EV circles and among those who follow the news. It belongs to Geely, who BTW also owns Volvo and Polestar. In fact, this car shares the same SEA platform with Volvo EX30, Polestar 4, and a few other Geely models. It has one more year of warranty than BYD. So I don’t see why this would be a bad buy compared to a BYD.

          • +2

            @supersabroso: orly?

Who wants a Tesla any more?

Got a poster of Elon on your wall, or just one of his children?

        • Don't forget servicing… Tesla doesn't need it to keep the warranty.

          • -1

            @Shon: "Tesla doesn't need it"

It is worrying not having a brake fluid flush every 2-3 years. Water molecules.

        • Does Tesla Y come with a 7kW Home Charger?

        • You haven't added the $3000 "BALLSH1T FEE" aka "DELIVERY FEE" in the price for all variants.

        • 7 year warranty vs 4 year warranty, what dollar value do you put on that?

      • +10

I thought they were just Squarespace templates?

      • +4

Looks like every other car builder to me.

      • +4

Wow, just opened both websites, the design is a straight rip off!

        • +12

Wait until you see BYD, or Volkswagen, or literally any other car brand's configurator page. They're all the same.

      • +4

They pumped all their resources into making the best car possible! No bandwidth left for original website creation

        Makes sense to me..

        • +7

pffft i know a genuine Panaphonics when i see it

      • Howmany seats is it? I tried ops link though dont think i saw the seats

          • @supersabroso: Thanks, i actually saw a sealion 7 on the road on tuesday, omg it looks good

            • -1

@ATTS: a sealion 7 looks good - maybe you didnt go to spec savers..

          • @supersabroso: Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't male it a no name brand. There has been a lot of hype about this vehicle for a long time

          • +2

@supersabroso: As the owner of two teslas (2024 MY LR and 2024 M3P) Zeekr is hardly a "no-name brand" and the specs are significantly better than an equivalent Tesla. The only reason that I went with Tesla is the potential for FSD some day soon, which I think will change the game.

            • +1

@dtpearson: Tesla, and everything Elon talks about, is vapourware. Buy something, especially a vehicle, for what it has rather than what it could have imo. I've been listening to Elon say FSD is coming for about 10 years now.

Stick it in the forums…. This is just advertising.

Just like subs, maybe people can unsubscribe from new car posts
I for one prefer to know in deals section, not forums about new cars

  • +60

Another day, another random new car brand.

The bubble burst is going to be brutal and who knows what warranties will actually be honoured in the future.

Also, this isn't a bargain, it's the regular price.

    • +35

Zeekr isn't a random car brand. It's Geely which is massive.

      • +16

Geely isn't massive in Australia yet, Cherry being the example of why you should be weary for any new automotive entrant

        • What's wrong with Chery?

          • +9

@cheapass88: They've been in Australia before around a decade plus ago. They ended up leaving Australia, don't see any of the J series cars on the road haven't for years. Friend of mine bought a J11 small SUV and it was a disappointment. Another mate was a service manager for a dealership that sold them at the time and they gave up the brand, too many warranty issues to deal with and little support from Chery themselves.

            • @Josh S: Chery is still in Australia?

            • +7

@Josh S: Lol can imagine if people stop buying fords becaus ethey have too many issues haha I did had 2 of those shit exosports between the 2 I replaced 5 gearboxes. And they are American so no point to say it is Chinese or American or Indian bla bla bla.

          • +14

@cheapass88: If a car company decides to pack up and leave Australia, their warranty and you consumer rights go with them.

          • @cheapass88: its chinese

        • +1

There are one or two Volvo's being driven around

      • -3

Zeekr isn't a random car brand. It's Geely which is massive.

Do you understand what the word 'brand' means?

        • +2

It's called sub-brand, similar to GWM & Haval.

        • +26

it's a top 10 global car company and 2nd in china behind BYD, so not sure what your definition of massive is

          • +5

@V2L: Haha remember because people don't see in Australia it is a small company they basically rely on what they are used to. That is a normal human behaviour in 10 years people will say oh I never heard about Nissan or Mitsubishi I love my zeerker though.

          • -4

            @V2L:

what your definition of massive is

            non-chinese brands

      • -1

A subbrand sucb as rhis can still fail

    • +2

Given how cheap they are selling the cars, consolidation of brands will start soon.. just like how Hiphi and Neta/Hozon auto went bankrupt

    • -5

        • +4

Love the ones who comment "so ignorant" or "you're just too stupid to understand the truth". Atleast counter with your thought or opinion if you're so righteous about how correct you are.

          • +1

@niknikniknik: It will be “they’re a huge company in China”.

            To that I say:
            1) China is a huge market that has a population that can support way more brands than our small country.
            2) China and Australian consumers may have different tastes and priorities in cars and brands. Just because a brand is successful in one country doesn’t mean it will be in another.
            3) No company is going to keep a brand going in a market that it is failing to make traction in. It’s perfectly reasonable to believe a lot of these brands new to Australia will eventually pull out of the Australian market but continue being successful in other international markets that can support more brands.

  • +11

    Wtf r these car brands

    • +56

Took me 3 seconds, but here it is:

Zeekr is owned by Geely Automobile Holdings, a Chinese automotive company. Geely also owns other well-known brands like Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus. Zeekr is a premium electric vehicle (EV) brand that was founded in 2021.

      • I was wondering which country made this car (the website is similar to Tesla).

        • most of the car brands try to copy/benchmark against Tesla. no wonder it looks like tesla's website

        • +18

          "which country made this car"

Same country that Tesla makes their AU delivered cars upsidedown bath tubs.

          • +3

@SetTheFaqUp: Yep and glad that they keep doing that the Chinese manufacting is top spec. Their robotic factories and AI are way more advanced with any US or European manufacturers

      • I understood some of those words.

      • So is Volvo a chinese junk as well now 🤣

      • +18

Because Aussie junk is so much better. Oh wait! We dont make our own cars.

        • -8

            • -3

              @axlfan:

              $200k starting bid.

The starting bid was $60k if you read it properly. $200k is the CURRENT bid.

Good luck rich boy. What are you doing in ozbargain?

So tell me, is $200k for a $5k new car better or worse than whatever you think you'll get for your Chinese shitbox in a couple of years?

            • @axlfan: dragging knuckles, obviously

          • @1st-Amendment: wow this website is sick!

            • @bleemo:

              wow this website is sick!

Even better if you go visit the showroom. It will blow your mind.

          • @1st-Amendment: That car is for show only, nobody in their right mind buys that to drive to and from woolies, pick kids up from sports, go to the friends on weekends.

It is a toy to show off at car meetups once a year.

        • +2

We made before with billions of tax payer money as subsidies. Hahha I don't see people talking about that but if the Chinese government give some subsidies to their manufacturing companies it is bad but back in the day when we did it wasn't. 🤔

          • @MDSUXKS: Every car manufacturing country subsidises their makers. The payback is export revenue which dwindled to nothing at GMH because GM was going tits up after the GFC.

      • you can't even afford this junk.

  • +26

Oooh they have green. Why don't more car makers have green as an option?

    • +7

Yeah, I have an Atto 3 in green and I love it. Then BYD discontinued the colour, big miss not having more than whites/grays/blues/blacks - so this is good, bit of personality.

      • Don't worry, the car colours hop between brands and years.

      • Expensive to make it also the Chinese market don't like them a much so almost a niche colour that they rather not doing it some companies still I think MG is getting some green back. But you are lucky to get a atto 3 green it looks awesome.

    • +2

      Remember Ford Toxic Green?

      • Is that the snot green?

    • -1

Why don't car makers offer all colours for free, thanks to their greed the roads are a sea of grey and white.

      • Automakers want white cars as a preference. Why? Because white does best at hiding imperfections, scratches, age, and dirt effectively. Cleaner, newer looking cars are better at demonstrating brand on the roads.
