    • My quote was for 'One - way' Sorry if I confused. I have edited for clarity

      • i cant see spend miles at all for any flights to asia or sydney so far. so i can see earn miles but im guessing they wont be the same when its time to spend that 40k points. I even signed up for membership but not showing how much to spend for a flight?

        Example Phuket economy below

Earn Miles 4426 Skywards Miles 6196 Skywards Miles 12390 Skywards Miles 17700 Skywards Miles

Spend Miles Not applicable* Not applicable* Not applicable* Not applicable*

Upgrade flights** Not applicable* 266250 Skywards Miles 175500 Skywards Miles 135000 Skywards Miles

  • whoops thats earn miles

so how much from perth to phuket or something?

  • So is this worth signing up or wait until they have no fees for life on their signature card?

    • +1

I have both. I like the free citibank travel insurance (available on both) because I can book one way fares (eg AirAsia) and be covered. If you fly Emirates then the free lounge passes are good, and the free limo once per year to and from the Aust. airport (limited but reasonable distance & Excludes Trans-Tasman flights) is handy too. 1 Skywards mile per $1 on domestic purchases is a reasonable earn rate. Annual fee of $299 after the 1st year is not good, but they might rebate it if you ring them before renewal time and threaten to cancel it. As soon as they refuse, then I will be cancelling my Emirates Citi card.

  • Thanks for this. $149 for 40K EK miles is sorta average I guess, but the few 'little' extras help. I have found Citi a real pain to deal with though. This deal would be very useful if you are just missing around 40K miles for a J / F redemption.

    • TRUE! "Your Skywards Miles are valid for three years from the date your earning activity is completed. Within the calendar year that Skywards Miles are due to expire, they will be removed from your account at the end of the month in which you were born.
For example, if you earned Miles in June 2012 and your birthday is in August, these Miles will expire on 31st August 2015."
