  • Just a question rep, why is it that all the best hotel chains are excluded?

  • So this is a "deal" that excludes most hotels that people would use… Right…

  • +2

What is this, a Dick Smith deal?

Here are more hotel chains that are excluded: Amari Hotels and Resorts, Aston Resorts, Choice, Choice Nordic, Corinthia Hotels, Dust Hotels, Fairmont, Fortune Hotels, Furama, Independent, La Quinta, Langham Hotels, Mandarin, Mandarin Oriental Hotels Group, Melia Hotels International, Movenpick Hotels and Resorts, NH Hotels, Omni, Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts, RIU Hotels, Raffles Intl Hotels and Resorts, Rosewood Hotels, Sandals Resorts, Scandic Hotels Chain, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Six Senses Resorts & Spas, Swiss Quality Hotels, Swissotel, Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces, The Peninsula Group, and Vincci.

  • Yep pretty much everything is excluded

Hi Sarah, the extensive exclusions makes this deal pretty average at best.
See what marketing can do to make it more appealing?
"hankypanky" is catchy, but people wanna do that between reputable fresh sheets.

      "hankypanky" is catchy

hope you don't catch anything when having hankypanky!

The exclusion list for this deal was pretty epic:

    https://au.hotels.com/page/au-hotel-exclusions/?pos=HCOM_AU&…

But 27 upvotes and no negs for that one? *Scratches head*.

    • Yeah, but

It's not designed for an actual holiday, its so you can go and have 'hankypanky' at the local Best Western… or other suitable Motor in style accommodation for 1-2 hours.

Notice, Best Western and your local Joe's Motor In isn't excluded… have a dirty night for 10% off

    • Joe's Motor In

      Vote Quimby

    • Joe's Motor Inn indeed ha ha haha…. good one

  • Where is the love for the rest of the year?

All those worried about the exclusions….how is this any different to any other accommodation discounts, the exclusion list is normal.I have saved a couple of hundred of dollars with the Venere deal, and would have been the same with this wot if deal Staying in 5* accommodation, E&O in Penang etc. I'm damn happy.

I've used wotif a few years ago until I found out that I could book many of the hotels listed either directly or through another site, often cheaper and with fewer restrictions.

I think their business model is out of date unless there's been significant changes to their value proposition since then

    • They have been bought by Expedia since then.

  • Coupon doesn't work!
Trying to book an inexpensive motel which is definitely not in exclusion list. Travel dates - late Feb.

Edit: Booked the same motel on hotels.com, with 10% discount and (possibly) 4.8% cashrewards cash back.

I miss the old Wotif which had the best & easiest to use grid of prices.

  • Too many exclusions make this a crap deal to be honest. Yes I understand there would be some, but this seems like a rather extensive list.

  • Poor form from this OP / Rep "Sarah"
This is a forum for bargains, Not a free advertising space!
More communication on your behalf is needed.

    • But free advertising is exactly how they see this site. They don't have time to chit-chat with us about exclusions and the price of milk.

      • Reps like this should be banned or warned for spamming

      Hi Ozy + other Ozbargainers,

Thanks for your feedback guys - unfortunately I had a few personal things on the Sunday of this deal so was unable to actively reply to everyone's questions adequately.

We hear you on the exclusions! Unfortunately this was out of our control in this case. There are however plenty of other hotels ranging from 3 stars to 4/5 stars who do actively participate with our coupons.

Enjoy the weekend guys and apologies again for the lack in communication on this particular post. I've switched on the notifications on my phone so will be ready to respond next time round, even on the weekend ;)

      • Good work Sarah,
