No line rental….pretty much buying the tablet over 24 mths

      Indeed.

      Overall it's a average plan.

BTW their $10 call pack doesn't include 13 numbers but TPG does.

$29.90/month for line rental. Wish like rental was included. Would've made a killer deal!

  • +7

    $85 a month not $54

  • +4

Line rental required. Dodo home phone line rental + adsl 2+ = $85 pm

I'm using TPG unlimited for $60 pm including line rental

    So extra $500 over 2 years + $25 delivery for Surface 3… hmm…

How's Dodo ADSL2+ service compared to TPG?

Tpg thanks. D!ld0 fail, so meh!

Dodo and the rest of their family (ClubTelco etc.) have been getting really poor reviews of late.
As an ex-CT customer we moved away because it had gotten so bad. Please, spend you money on a decent service

Basically you're just buying the tablet for $30/month over 24 months. not really a deal

    • +1

Don't forget changing to a worse internet provider as well.

  • For me tpg for unlimited everywhere including some international destinations is $80.

With D!ld0, it is $110 including the tab.

Considering the reliability and billings issues with Dodo I'd consider it a complete waste of time

Great tablet, no so great with dodgy dodo Internet.

Dodo is one of those things where it just doesn't matter what price or "value" they are offering… just don't do it kids. Mmmkay?

    Dodo.. dodo… Internet that dies!

A tech company naming itself Dodo? I don't get it. But then again their service, connectivity and tech support is as extinct as a Dodo.

Maybe it's the type of customer they aspire to have?

      • ROFL I like.

Dodo has the worst customer service in the world. Avoid this company at all cost.

  • I recent moved into my own place and think i am getting ripped off. had to get a phone line hooked up and I am paying Telstra $29.95/month for line rental and home phone. I am with TPG for my ADSL 2+. Telstra sound like they lied to me and claim I have to pay them line rental to be able to get ADSL 2+…this sux.. can anyone confirm that I can just get my home phone connected with TPG too and not pay Telstra anything?? I hate paying telstra as I NEVER even use my home phone. I would rather pay less for line rental with TPG if that is an option. would appreciate any help :)

    • Unless Turdstra signed you up on a fixed term ie. 12/24 month contract in exchange for a plan or bundle, you have the right to change the provider of your services.
Have you considered dropping the landline and using VoIP? In which case you have the potential to save a lot of $$ dependent upon what & how many calls you make. You cannot get this with Turdstra/BigPong ADSL as their plans all rely on an active landline service.

      Next point is important.
If that's the case and you are free to move your services, then move them to someone else.
If they misled you in any way, I'd take it to the TIO and have them seek compensation from Turdstra for you.
Each interaction a provider has with the TIO directly costs them TIO fees, consequently they don't tend to mess about too much.
If on the other hand you ARE locked in, then wait out your time and then change provider or check out the penalty for breaking the contract.
Turdstra also have/had a cheaper landline plan, maybe look at that also.

      • Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I know i am not locked into anything with them. I will give them a call and see how I go..

  • Well you can have naked DSL ,you still need a copper line into the house ,
you dont need to have a number or a dial tone.
But you need to cancel your plan and start a new one
    Good luck
    Cheers :-)

    • thanks, appreciate the suggestion. I will look into that

Naked DSL is about paying 2 dollars less per month and losing a (truly) unlimited phone service and making it much more difficult to churn and/or change provider.

Telcos decieve customers into believing naked DSL means you don't pay for line rental and then make a load more money off dumb consumers as they pay almost the same amount whilst ditching the option to use what they're still paying for and making it more difficult to change providers.

It's a legal confidence trick (like a lot of telco practices).

      • Thanks, ill keep this in mind ;)

I would have signed up if it wasn't for the fact that Regional aren't included.

    GONE!
