    No BD-Rs?

    • They never seemed to take off for reasonable pricing, they are till kinda insane expensive sadly.

    • Yeah, I wouldn't mind me some dual or and triple layer Blu-ray discs for backup/archival purposes…. Too bad they're out of my budget….

Cheaper per GB to buy a portable HDD.

That's why BDR never took off.

I do have a couple or so of external HDDs for archival and backup purposes, it's just that you don't get the WORM (Write Once, Read Many) ability that you do with CD/DVD/BDs. Here's a wikipedia article in case you don't know what I mean: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Write_once_read_many

This is pretty much the only reason why I still burn to discs - oh that and some players(say if I'm wanting to watch a movie on something) don't have USB port(s) and only DVD/BD trays….things like this is why I still use optical media. Otherwise I'd have switched to portable HDDs a long time ago! haha

CD-Rs were still expensive in the late 90s. Early 00s maybe.

      • They were $2 per disc when I started buying them. But that's priced with jewel case, not spindle of 50. Spindle and no name brand would have been cheaper.

Hehe can't remember the last time I burnt a CD or DVD…

  • I use to off load my stuffszzz to dvd then to bluray and now im store them back to hdds for the convinience of accessing and streaming. Burning 3D bluray still have it good use though.

  • Great price but I still have a stash that I'll probably never use up.

  • BTW
