  • Great post OP :)

    • Thanks!

  • how do you redeem the tote with the lip balm?

  • +1

How does it trigger the offer?
I tried it with the Natio Lip balm, but did not work? Am i doing something wrong?

    • +1

Sign in, add item to shopping bag, open shopping bag, look for the link at the bottom.

  • +2

After much &&@$:;$!?ing around, finally got it to work.

If you want to create an account, be aware that the email address is case sensitive.
If you want to pay by PayPal and use click and collect, update your billing address first.

Then once you add your item, in the check out page, you have the option to add the tote to your bag.

    • Thanks for answering the questions. I didn't anticipate there'd be a problem as it worked fine for me.

  • +1

I can't get it to work - registered, added natio lip balm, went all the way to the end and no option to add

    • I'm sorry to hear it's not working for people. I did test each offer before posting.

Has anyone tried purchasing a different item to see if it works?

Unfortunately I can't do further testing as I put too many items in my shopping bag and now I can't remove any items, or progress to checkout, or do anything.

      • That happens many times cos dj site sucks :p.

I believe you just need to open private window to do the test

  • Hi Everyone, sorry that suggestion no. 1 is not working.

Here is a screen shot of suggestion no. 2.

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/142534/37316/shopping_…

The screenshot shows that this particular Lanolips product triggers the free fragrance sample AND eligibility to buy the tote full of samples. (Lanolips = pay $13.95. Get 5ml fragrance sample worth $12.50.)

It also shows what you should see at the bottom of your shopping bag, i.e. a picture of the tote plus an Add To Shopping Bag button to click.

P.S. Remember, the tote is not free, it costs $19.95.

  • I added a more expensive makeup item, then the natio lip balm, then got the offer, then removed the expensive item.

  • There's also Dior GWP if you buy $120 or more of Dior products to your bag (not advertised online) until the 28th

  • +3

It looks like you can add the Lanolips, then the tote bag and then remove the Lanolips to just get the tote by itself for $19.95

    • +1

I wouldn't risk it. Who knows DJ might cancel your order??

previously with the AMEX cash back I could have bought a premium gift card without paying the packing costs $4.95 by removing it when check out

    • I can confirm that this works. Previously you can even search the sampler bag, add to cart and checkout. It is fine. I got mine delivered and click and collect. All good

  • I'll go in stores and try to get it with a cheap purchase. Shall report back.

  • +2
    • Shit. Sort of reluctant to do Click and Collect so I can choose which of the two bags to get. I want the pink one.

  • I've just received an email to pick up my bag. I had a $5.95 lip balm in my shopping bag as my full priced item.

    • How can you remove the David Jones booklet from your shopping bag? It seems that it is automatically added to the shopping bag while the booklet is not allowed for Click & collect. Thanks.

      • I did not add a DJs booklet… I'm not sure what you're referring to?

Most people have mentioned that you need to add a "higher-priced" item before getting the option to add the sample tote, then once you do - you can remove the original higher priced item and the sample tote is still in your shopping bag.

I'm not sure if anyone will successfully get the tote without any other purchase via click-and-collect (you will still have to front up at the shop and they can look at the purchase and say you can't have it?) but maybe you can.

        • Well they've said my order is now ready for click and collect and I just ordered a tote. But you're right, counter could be a different story. I almost paid for delivery to avoid this

        • Thanks for your reply. I mean the tote is automatically added to the shopping cart even if I am willing to pay for the lip balm. So, I can't do Click & Collect.I have to pay for 10$ delivery.

        • @lnq: I'm pretty sure there is an option for click and collect…

        • I ordered just the bag and I collected it today, no questions asked.

  • Can everyone here who purchased confirm that you get the right bag? I purchase sampler tote 1 click and collect, they gave me version2.

I purchased sampler tote 2 delivered, received version 1 lol

I believe they messed up this. Sampler tote1 is the cosmetic stuff but the picture is the skincare tote, while sampler tote2 supposed to be the skincare but the pic is the cosmetic stuff lol

    • Better to go instore, since you can also pick the nail polish colour you want.

      • No cashrewards for instore ;)

      • I tried this but DJs Elizabeth St Sydney refused to swap the nail polish for a different colour.

        • You have to go through all the bags on display to find the one you want :) Then buy that bag… you know for next time!

    • I purchased sampler tote 2, received sampler tote 2.

      • What is inside sampler tote 2?

        Is there an antipodes hossana?

        • that's what the tag says - serum 10ml

        • +1

          @bluedufflecoat:

Ok I understand now. They messed up with the picture.

The picture of Sampler tote 2, has no antipodes serum 10ml, while sampler tote 1 has that serum 10ml.

          Thanks for your reply!

Basicly, I just want to let you guys know that you wont received the items you will see on david jones checkout screen, instead you will receive this:
          pink bag: http://canyoucwhatisee.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/david-jones-b…

        • @fomal: Is there a way to ask for one tote bag over the other?

        • @jdf:
Yes you can in store, online the sampler tote 1 is out of stock, only 2nd version is available

        • @fomal: Thanks for answering this, you were right :)

  • thanks for this OP - ordered a tote bag and a lip balm for the missus (offer 1)

  • After a couple of days messing around with some minor online glitches, I finally got my DJ's e-gift card and finally made my purchase.

    Here's what I spent:
    $100 e-gift card for $90 via Entertainment Book - saved $10
Cash Rewards cashback - saved $6
Brought total spent down to $84.75.

    Here's what I got:
    Two Nivea products - $38.75
    Free four-piece Nivea gift-with-purchase - approx $40?
Two In Essence essential oils - $39.90
    Free In Essence vaporiser/candles set - $59
One $2 calendar (thanks to an OzB poster)- $24.95
And the $20 DJ's tote full of samples as posted above- $130
Free shipping and two free beauty samples.

Total value (based on RRP, not on what you think it's worth LOL) = $300+

I missed out on the Chloe fragrance sample though as it was sold out by the time I received my e-gift card. I must get one in advance next time!

  • Has the offer ended? Cant see the tote anywhere and I added several eligible products to my logged in cart.

    • Looks like they pulled it, it was showing out of stock online this morning but would let you C&C. Now, it doesn't even come up.

      • Thanks for that, I missed it dang!

        • +1

I just asked DJ's via their online Live Chat, and got the answer that they sold out a week ago. (Not exactly true.)

I'm surprised it sold out because the one at the end of last year was available for ages.

And even with click and collect online, the tote is no longer showing up. I guess all you can do is try in-store.

(Sorry I didn't post it sooner, but I didn't find it till last week even though the promotion started in early Feb. It wasn't promoted on DJ's front page or beauty page, I just stumbled across it.)

        • @JoFord63: won't make it to DJ's for a while. It is an hour away from my home. Thanks anyway/

        • @17731773:
Sorry to hear that. I don't want to go to the store either, not because of the distance but because of the crowds!

        • @JoFord63: Its all good, probably should not be buying more beauty products anyway!

  • Thanks JoFord63 for posting this up, passed on this information to a fair few and they have been so grateful for the tip.
