In Store Only from 27th Feb. Strictly limited availability.

"Each of the handhelds will come with a Virtual Console version of its corresponding release pre-installed. Virtual Console allows Nintendo users to download and play classic games from the past 25 years.
The special edition consoles will also come with a sticker pack to customize the hardware and a code to download a Pokémon theme.
Nintendo is also re-releasing the original Pokémon games on its Virtual Console and says they will remain true to their cartridge origins, complete with monochrome pixel art and 4-bit music."

JB and Target are also selling these on launch. JB's price is $149 in store, Target online only $149, probably sold out by the time you read this.

      The bargain is the Yellow version, really. Most of us got the Red/Blue version without any hassle. I would sell my soul to get my hands on Yellow. My partner's cousin stole my GameBoy Colour and my Pokemon Yellow a year ago. I had that baby for as long as I can remember. A truly treasured gift from my father. But alas, Yellow sold out really quickly and I missed my one chance. Now I have a second chance… but I am working late Friday night and will most likely miss out on my local stock. I would wake up early for it, but I need to work late Saturday night too. Sometimes I hate the universe.

    More land fill …..what 2ds games do we see in the future from Nintendo …..

    Other option is play emulator on pc or mac if you don't need portable.

      I don't know if you are trolling or not so I will just tell you. The 2ds is just a kid friendly version of the 3ds. It plays all the same games as the 3ds. There are no 2ds games and there never will be.

    I pre-ordered all three on day 1 (mega nerd), but I don't understand why Nintendo don't just release more so that scalpers don't have it so easy. Isn't the point of pre-orders to gauge interest. Maybe they'll do another run of Pokemon 2DS's later on, like they did with the Majora's Mask 3DS XL.

I managed to score a yellow one- according to the guy working there only 3 stores in SA got them… luckily i chose 1 of those 3 stores :)

    According to Target's Facebook, Target will not have any in-store, they will be online only.

    They come up as Page Not Found at the moment, but they should be on these links when they come online: Blue, Red and Yellow

    No one picked up that Target sneakily sold their allocation on Fleabay earlier in the week. I wonder if they have pulled the wool over our eyes again (just like they did with the "online" Gold Mario Amiibo).

    Act quickly! These are now available to purchase on the Target website.

    My order was successfully placed and I have received email confirmation. I was also told to start checking at 7am tomorrow so lucky I refreshed now. It wasn't active 10min ago.

        Definitely not long before I posted the above comment. I opened the link open on the browser ready for tomorrow morning then a few minutes later I was shutting my other tabs before closing the laptop and the page luckily refreshed.

        Lucky, as I'd be a bit annoyed if they were already out of stock when I checked in the morning since they told me not to bother checking before 6am QLD time.

        Same thing happened with the Gold Mario Amiibo. If you believe Target's "official" release time, you will miss out :(

    Endeavour Hills is empty (I went in, confirmed)

    Fountain Gate is empty (went in, just missed out, confirmed)

    Pakenham is empty (called up, lady said none left)

    I tried calling Waverley Gardens but couldn't get through.

    I had no idea they would go this fast, people must have been waiting outside as soon as they opened, or perhaps staff took them?

    Not too disappointed as you can still download the games for cheap on the DS apparently, only missing out on the coloured DS and box.
