All prices are shown without GST

Just a note for those who don't realise.

    • Which is illegal

      • Yes, in this retail targeting it is:

        https://www.accc.gov.au/business/pricing/displaying-prices

When you present prices to your customers, you must state the total price of the good or service as a single figure, which is the minimum total cost that is able to be calculated. This should include any tax, duty, fee, levy or other additional charges (e.g. GST or airport tax). This rule generally does not apply in business-to-business transactions. This means you do not need to include GST if a price statement is made exclusively to businesses.

OP, you're not just selling to businesses - need GST on your listings.

        • Thanks for the feedback; We will look into it, however the cart clearly states that prices are EX TAX and shipping. I can show you a number of websites that show prices EX GST. And yes our customer base is usually businesses that includes sole traders and private companies.

        • @Budgetsafetywear:

yes our customer base is usually businesses

          usually

          usually

You're listing products on the internet, and don't require the customer to have an ABN to purchase, etc. Your online shopfront (as stated by the ACCC) has to list an inclusive figure. To suddenly add that once it's added to cart is deceptive. You have it tucked away in your site saying that all prices are Ex-GST - Again, this is deceptive advertising.

So, what site don't include GST in their listings?

@Spackbace: rep is doing everyone a favour.
Bisley gear I've been issued at work is ill fitting, rips easy(pant knees) and shrinks like shit even without a dryer.

        • @Spackbace:

Check out these uniform and workwear sites,

all prices EX GST, SO are these all illegal?

          http://www.splashalley.com/
          https://www.uniformstore.com.au/
          https://www.uniformstar.com.au/
          http://www.dncworkwear2u.com.au/
          http://www.jbswear2u.com.au/

Its evident that we are being targeted for the wrong reasons. If that is the case, we won’t bother posting deals. For the last two months, we have posted number of deals on Oz Bargain and achieved great results. We have had fantastic traffic and sales, it is another matter that people do not vote us in-spite benefiting from those deals.
All I can do is request the moderator to look into this as we are clearly being targeted with negative votes.

          @Budgetsafetywear:

Check those links you sent to and you'll see one common trend… All prices are actually stated "Ex GST" at point of order.

          http://www.anvil.net.au/shirts-c-1.html - GST excl.
          https://www.uniformstore.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_… - (ex. tax)
          https://www.uniformstar.com.au/corporate-uniforms/biz-corpor… - (ex.tax)

          Need I go on?

Do you have that on your site? Nope!

All I can do is request the moderator to look into this as we are clearly being targeted with negative votes.

Nope, you're not being targeted, you've just failed to offer up a decent deal. Partner that with the deceptive pricing on your website, and the neg is well deserved.

And this is the first time you've been negged, so please don't try to play the victim.

          @Spackbace:

Thanks, so if this is all that is needed, it could have been done without giving us negative vote. Surely in your perspective this deal is not good enough, but when compared to the many stores that offer Bisley, we are probably very competitive. Nevertheless, I think it is a futile argument. Your input is appreciated and we will action it but giving negative votes is unwarranted.

        • @Budgetsafetywear:

How long have you been in business? Yet it needed a stranger on an internet bargain forum to point our your deceptive behaviour?
Oh right, but I'm the bad guy for neg voting your business?

          Lol you make me laugh

        • @Spackbace:

Thanks for the feedback, all our prices are INC GST with immediate effect.

If I had to buy my own hi viz gear, I'd go to the op shop.

  • so AT BEST your free shipping is 10% off 4 pairs of socks for $50. wow.

Anything else more expensive than 4 pairs of socks, and it's more like a whopping 5% or less saving.

Even leaving aside the deceptive advertising by not displaying GST inclusive prices (everybody else doing it doesn't make it any less illegal), it's not a bargain.

    • they are Insect Protection socks - tradies know about these products?

    • Thanks for the feedback, all our prices are INC GST with immediate effect.
