    How much is it normally?

It looks like the normal price.

    • I don't

      know.

you don't know if there is a saving.
you don't know if there is sufficient stock.
you don't know what the price is at other stores.

So how do you know it's a bargain ?

except not one set of vice grips in the set… strange name to call them

probably should change the name to plier set?

    • +2

The plier set contains 5 vices…

      • +1

you can keep that set then…. i already have enough vices..

        • Wow, clearly not vice grips.

  • Every time I see this pack I kick myself for not grabbing the previous super, awesome set!

    • Me too. Arghhhh!

    • I got that!

      • Ah thats the one i got :) super buy and the quality is fantastic!

The title of this deal is wrong and misleading.

The brand is "Irwin Vice Grip" and the product is a set of PLIERS.

The brand is "Irwin Vice Grip"

      The package says VISE Grip.

So it does… and now that you have replied I cannot edit my mistake.

Anyway, there are no "Vice Grips" or "Vise Grips" in the deal, it's just Pliers.

To be accurate, there's 3 pair of pliers, 1 pair of sidecutters and a shifting spanner.

Can vouch for Irwin. Bought a similar set last year. Very strong/tough and good grips.

    • Can vouch for Irwin.

      Poor Steve… :(

      • Poor Steve… :(

OP is probably not talking about steve, steve is probably the hardest of the irwin set to buy at the current time. much easier to buy bindi and terri as a set at this point… im guessing is what OP meant

      • God dammit jv

        • JV Master Troll

  • OP left out "PLIERS SET" in the title. VISE-GRIP is just a marketing brand name for their PLIERS.

    • Yes, how observant of you

Wow this place is getting pretty brutal with the smart arses. Chill out people!

  • This is a decent set for the dollars, IMO, though the linesman pliers are designed for, well, lines of copper (electrical trades) so in a sense quite useful to have a set, however, they don't go to a flush point at the 'nip' of the pliers. Designed this way so that when you're threading some copper you don't squish the ends (AFAIK).

The multigrips are very useful, particularly locking pliers, which are often really useful in a lot of situations I've found, for example holding a piece whilst you want to work it with another tool, or not having to apply constant flex to one side of a nut whilst you attempt to fasten or loosen other side, etc..

The previous deal was good (7 piece set for around $60), though I think I've actually seen some of those sets still kicking around the place in Bunnings in southern SA.

I like that Bunnings is able to often secure these special sets from manufacturers like Irwin. By the looks of things buying each tool individually (though haven't seen the adj. spanner in Bunnies) works out to often be substantially more than these sets.
