The Great 'Uno' Shortage of 2016

Went to half a dozen shops today in the search for Uno.

Some didn't stock it, many were completely sold out. According to the staff "I sold my last pack last night"

You heard it here first, Uno is cool again

Kmart…we bought a deck for Xmas.

    • sold out. :(

Spewing, there were heaps there when we got ours (Glendale, NSW). Maybe worth trying in some of the suburbs where the majority of stuff sold out would have had AC/DC or Jim Beam livery…if you get my drift! ;)

      Thank-you Donald Trump.

Go to David Jones; they have 613 of them in the country ($10.95). If you tell me your nearest store, I can see whether they have stock.

see I just wouldn't think to go there for uno (does perth city DJs have any)

      • I'll check for you when I'm back at work :)

      • +1

There's only six left in Hay St Mall DJs …

I'm a peasant, not allowed into DJs ;)

Does anyone remember the old Uno ads? Does anyone tell someone to "suffer" these days?

  • -4

    It's pronounced "you-no"

    • +3

      It's Spanish:

      http://forvo.com/word/uno/

      Listen to the first example.

      Cheers

      • The second example is more sexy :P

    • I know, u know?

  • real urge to play now… need to pick one up before they're totally wiped out

    • I think my "shortage" post may have been slightly exaggerated…. slightly.

Bono is organising a Uno charity relief concert.

If you don't mind knockoff cards the cheap junk shops in Melbourne usually have random themed ones. We once had to get Hannah Montana ones for a weekend away.

Not sure if they still do it but the official site used to let you make your own personalised deck with photos. We made some for a wedding present for some mates, had all the photos from their day on the cards. I was a Wild Card ha ha

Oh gosh, the nostalgia. I remember I also had the Jenga styled Uno tower. Now they're all hidden away in a box somewhere in the basement.

    • Haha jenga….
We used to play jenga wars… Basically two people hide behind one couch each on opposite sides of the room and throw jenga blocks at each other….

    • +1

I've never known anyone in Australia to have a basement. Are you Australian?

      • probably lives on a sloping block, US style basements are rare id say.

  • +2

Most people I know have won them at timezone

  • Loads of them here in Chadstone, VIC. just saw about 30+ of them in Toys R Us for example.

Why do people say "half a dozen" instead of 6? Just whip out a deck of cards and play a real card game.

  • +1

They sell off-brand uno in some Asian $2 stores! The one in Domain, Townsville has it but it's called something else. The cards are exactly the same.

  • You could go the digital route and play UNO ™ & Friends from your phone.

Get it from the Google Play Store:

Problem with digitally so many people quit when they're losing.

  • I've seen them at big w in the toys section

  • yep and now look at the fuel prices go up due to the shortage.

i have 2 packs and a stack of oldschool board games that are now playable on googles play store.

  • I got a pack of fake Uno cards for like 100 tickets at Timezone.

So what happens when a retailer sells their second last pack?
