Easter Saturday (03/04) 1 Day Sale -

Iomega 3.5" External HDD $99, reduced from $139.

Sorry I can't give you a pic or more details guys, I'll try and get a pic of it up tomorrow!

Edit: I think it's the desktop prestige editions. Cheapest on SI is 102+shipping. Not as good as I originally thought :(, but no shipping fees definitely makes it a bargain.

  • iomega drive allows you to run v.clone
    http://protection-suite.iomega-web.com/vclone
    which looks interesting

    • how much would the 'image' be on the external hDD to bring it across another comp though?

  • Good price for BW

  • +3

Thumbnail had me thinking the drive is available in four cute designs :D

  • Let's see if the stocks stay for long … Good Price

  • +1

good price but if you can afford it 1.5tb is still cheaper. $134 available @ 4 stores across aus.
    http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=1.5tb+usb&spos=…

    • ~10.1GB per dollar
      vs
      ~11.2GB per dollar (without shipping)

UMart charge about $10-20 for HDD shipping and they're only listed as preorder.
Can't find shipping cost for AnyPC (and don't really want to register, but I'll assume it's about the same as above)
Gamedude just won't work for me

Anyway, even at the lower estimate, you're looking at about 10.4GB/dollar (as opposed to 10.1gb/$) if you can't pick it up. Definitely better value if you can afford it or want something a little larger - and live close to those few locations - but only marginally! :)

  • Am I missing something? Can't find it on the BigW online catalog.

    • me too.. not on catalog ???? oh i think this is special 1 day so it wont be on catalog

    • +1

The catalogue isn't online yet. (hence why I've linked to the home-page)

As I said in the OP, I'll try grab a picture of it today.

      • If the catalouge is not available yet how do you know when it is going to be available in stores?

        • It's not online. There are hard copies. It's on April 3rd (or Easter Saturday)

          • @pais: What about a PDF scan uploaded to Scribd?

            • @YesPleaseThankYou: Why bother when the catalogue will be online in a couple of days?

              • @lbft: Let's see.

              • @lbft: I bother because no on else seems to know anything about this deal, not even Big W staff! So if the guy knows where they have seen they should put something on to prove it!

                • @some_one_some_where: You can question me all you like, but I assure you it's accurate information. I don't have a copy of the catalogue with me to take a pic of it, but it's legitimate. Notice how there are about 3 other bargains posted regarding the one day sale on Easter Sat (April 3rd), they're all from the same catalogue.

                  Relax a little bit.

          • +1

@pais: How about even a camera shot of the deal?

Does Officeworks sell these? I am thinking about price match : )

    • +1

What did you find? Price match sounds like a good idea.

      • +2

Yes office works sell them - and will beat it by 5% if you have the proof of the sale price…

Might be a good idea to call your local OW beforehand to check to see if they have any in stock.

  • +1

    Is this good external HDD?

  • +2

Just looked at this at Logan Hyperdome Big W and marked at $148 so itll be a great price when it goes on sale. And even better with a 5% OW discount!! Are they good??

  • +1

This is a great price and I'd like to go to Officeworks to price match. Has anyone got any concrete info on this? Officeworks will want to see proof

  • +1

can't find in the catalogue, how do we get it on the exact day, what evidence do we bring you know?…

    • +1

You don't need 'evidence' (unless you're price matching) — that's the price it'll be on the day.

  • +2

For everyone wanting to see the catalogue:

    http://www.lasoo.com.au/catalogue/big-w-one-day-specials/4hz…

    • Good man!! i never doubted ya : ) Off to OW i go haha

    • hey, thanks for the link, but the image doesnt appear to show a prestige drive, just the other version. still $99 for a terabyte isnt bad!

  • They havnt got this at OW Loganholme : ( Guess ill just have to get to Big W early on Sat instead!

  • Whilst this is a great price, the price of storage is only going to go further downward.

Don't feel too bad if you can't get one of these now.

    • That's generally how technology prices work mate :)

      • Well yes, but not everyone is aware of this so I thought it worthwhile to mention.

  • did anyone get this? totally 4got but if i went in-store, will it be there available? OP still didn't put a picture…

  • I got to Big W just in time to pick up the last one they had at the Ballarat store.

This was a great deal if you live in regional areas, as we don't get the good deals you get in PC shops in the capital cities, and by the time you add postage many of those deals are not worth it.

So I'm super happy to get a 1TB USB HDD for under $100.

Now to fill it up with a couple of hundred CD's lol :)

  • i picked up 2 on sat morning at carindale big w. Thanks to the OP. Needed them to back some work stuff up quickly.
