ASUS ME400C LTE Windows Tablet + Belkin Case $240 Shipped @ Wireless1 eBay

110

Not a bad deal for a LTE windows tablet. Uses the older Dual-core Z2760, but more than capable for most everyday tasks (youtube, word processing, facebook, Ozbargain etc…). 64GB Storage, 2G RAM, 1366x768 screen, full windows 8.
Also comes with a full copy of Office Home and Student 2013.

ME400C is very old stock, and was selling without LTE for about $299 many years ago. Not going to neg, but I question whether this is a bargain.

    • +1

Well I figured some people looking for a LTE tablet capable of most tasks would be interested, plus it comes with an office 2013 license if that is of any value to some people. Plus, include the depreciation of the AU$ since a couple of years ago and it's a bit more appealing.

      • also pays to include depreciation of an old Clover Trail Atom processor which was never great.

        • Sure, it isn't great for media encoding, gaming, or handling 40MB RAW files in photoshop, but as a tablet it runs perfectly and smoothly browsing the web, viewing documents, playing windows store games and watching movies.

        • I don't expect media encoding and photoshop on a tablet? the Clover Trail Atom processor is very weak in comparison to new Atom processors, I wouldn't recommend it at this price.

As long as it runs ozbargain, thats all that matters

For $240 I hope it do bit more than that haha

True. For ozbargainers, one should be able to spend more wisely to get their needs met than invest $240 on this model.

  • The 5 reviews are not helping the cause…

Avoid z2760 at any cost!!! It is not capable to play video in 1080p and sometimes also sluggish to play 720p!!

Get any crappy z3735 tablet instead if you really need something to work.

I've had no issues in the past with 1080p youtube or local files. http://hothardware.com/reviews/intel-clovertrail-atom-z2760-…

Probably depends on which media player you're using.

      • One, do not trust 1080p on youtube. Two, try any 1080p mkv files and see the chip fail to play. The majority of my movie/drama collections are 10g mkv files and it did not run. I still remember the days when I was watching the GoT S1 and S2, I had to convert my 1080p drama to 720p only to be able to play them fluently on the tab.

I've watched multiple 1080p MKV movies (only 2GB though, but I don't see the need to play 10Gb files on a tablet of this size and screen resolution) with no trouble using WMP. Even my Z3740 would struggle with 10Gb MKV's.

EDIT: This was with the non-LTE ME400c

It really depend on the encoding. 2GB for a 1080p full length movie is really bad, thus the CPU can decode it.

  • wish it could run win10!

It can-free upgrade from 8-10. Not an ARM RT based version.

Actually, looks like there's no support for the Z2760 :(

    • +2

I forced mine and it works very well. Just use the media creation tool to upgrade.

      • will try that, coz auto-upgrade tells me the graphics card is not good enough

      • +1

Is that by booting the ISO from a usb drive and installing 10?

        • You could do the usb drive with a usb otg cable, but that could get fiddly diddly. I'm pretty sure the media creation tool has an option to just 'upgrade' instead of booting from usb.

      • thanks for mentioning mate!
got mine upgraded to win10! woohoo
tried to sell it on gumtree but only getting replies for like $100 LOL
