Unfortunately, anything that's not a letter, including handling and packaging costs is going to cost that much via Australia Post.
I think the shipping cost would be much cheaper for business/bulk postage. As I know even my company (small; only ships 10 items/day) is billed for $10.00 for a 3KG thermal printer shipping nationwide thru TNT/fastway etc..
