  As far as I know, there will be a massive update on GPU line ups from AMD and Nvidia in upcoming months. (Which hasn't really happened for years; especially for AMD)

  Might wanna hold off for now unless you need a GPU soon…

    I have waited for a very long time to buy it, so I decided to buy. I think if the difference in performance is too much then the price of new cards should be high. Otherwise no one buys the old one.

      The old one gets discontinued, pricing becomes irrelevant at that point. It's the first major upgrade in years, it's absolutely worth waiting for.

      Ye, you are probably right. If you were looking to buy a GPU, Pascal is still months away anyway, so you might as well buy 970 on a good deal now.

      However for some observers like me (and others) who is already relatively satisfied with the current GPU, we might as well wait out and see.

      So.. no right answers haha :)

      Not true for GPUs unfortunately. AMD midrange cards are around 4 years old and have been rebranded multiple times.
