I was in the market for a cheap beach shelter and I stumbled upon this. I was able to pick up one via C&C at Roxburgh park store which I believe was one of the last few. Some stores shows stock in my area & shipping at 7.99 is also possible via eBay which I believe is still a decent deal. I tested mine and it's nice and sturdy and should last for a while to keep the kids in shade while playing in the sun.

We were looking for something quick, light and easy as we have a young son and wanted somewhere available for him to get some quick relief from the sun. We were not planning on all huddling around inside it for long periods!

The mesh panels do seem a little annoying, but I am told they are for the wind and most of the other shelters of this type seem to have them as well. I guess an industrious person could duct tape on some flaps of material or something to cover them if they wanted to. Pegs and Sand bags are included, hopefully that's enough to stop it flying away.

I haven't had the chance to take it to the beach yet but I have set it up out side a couple of times and can confirm that it is very quick and easy to put up and take down, much better than assembling those annoying tent poles! The bag is spacious enough that you don't have to fold it up perfectly to pack it away either.

You can certainly get bigger and better options for double and triple the price, maybe bigw and bunnings had similar items before at the same or better price, but I couldn't find them

      I too got the same, and after the 4th try it worked. I removed the item from the cart and started it from scratch on the last attempt and it worked.

      Don't know why I bought this as I bought the $10 one from Masters last week. Worked really well too!

      $5 I couldn't pass up, although need to drive down to Dandenong to pick up. Hope they do 'actually' have it in stock though.

        I actually passed up on the $10 master's offering as it wasn't pop up. $30 one on the other hand was nice but something told me that I could find a cheaper one :) south morang masters had one each left on the shelf if anyone is interested.

          Yeah my brother in law has this pop up one and works a treat.

          Thought the $10 Masters one was going to be easy enough to use, although the poles are the tent style ones. Also needed the misses to help. That said, it's still great to use and the coverage I'd say is actually better than this one. It covers three out of the four corners.

          At $5 for this one, it's a steal. Great for a spare =D

          Yes, coverage wise master's one is much better. I am still looking for one that has good shade/aeration/price ratio as you need some ventilation as well especially on windless days.

          @Efendy: I made a comment in the Master's post (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/3513861/redir). The actual item I got was different to the one pictured. The sides of the tent has a half moon hole cut out at the lower section (allows wind and breeze to pass though). Seems they are still available, so may be good for you as a spare and use when you're not so lazy to set up the tent poles lol!

          Picked up today and just set it up for a test. They come with pegs and two pockets at the rear for sand bagging. Bit difficult to set it up with one person though.

          Not sure if it's just mine but the model I was given is slightly different to the one pictured. The name is the same though (Life Island Sunshelter). The sides of the tent has a half moon hole cut out at the lower section (allows wind andbreeze to pass though).

          $10 can't complain… Good buy!

          Ready to hit the beach tomorrow =D

    Sweet deal though for those that can pick-up/have regular postage costs, I've been looking for an easy to pack-up sun shelter and this seemed perfect.

    My worst dislike is when im sitting at the beach with my partner under a nice umbrella, and some idiot sits right infront of us and sets up this tent blocking our entire view and having us get up and find a new spot.

    People with Tents should sit right at the back of the beach.
