Might want to mention in the title this is the 30 pin version cable, so for iPhone 4S and older.

Updated :) In specifications it does mention iPhone 4 as well.

    • Or you could use a 30pin to lightning adapter? Then it works for all iphones? But i cant see how this holds the phone. WOuld have to check

      • It doesn't hold the phone.

The idea is that you "hide" your phone, and then use this to control it.

        • well then even better :) bought one of these today just need to get a good adapter.

Theres also a similar model reduced on sale for $10. Tune into the radio type rather than aux in

What's the point of this besides charging? Isn't it basically just a pass through audio cable?

Well, you could always read the OP I guess…

control it with simple hand gestures, all with the Monster iMotion CarPlay Direct Connect Cable. Hook your iPhone or iPod up to your car stereo through an AUX input, and enjoy touch free music control.

And the linked product page has some additional information for you…

      Hand Gesture Playback Control

Control your music with a simple hand gesture, by waving or holding your hand over the Monster cable sensor, so that you can keep your hands free and ensure you can drive safely even while controlling your music.

But yes, it's a pointless device.

      • I guess that's why $5…

  • Yeah I read it. Apart from that I meant, in terms of actually sending the audio.

    • That video is even more useless than the device :-D

As an aside - this thing could totally destroy the "romantic moment" when you are seeking intimate pleasures in your car… each movement would cause it to skip a track, fast forward, etc.
