    TA:

    Thank you for your submission.

Please wait while your post is assessed for "garbage" content.

    • What is that supposed to mean???

    • +1

      The meta is real

    • If there's anyone with garbage words, it's you, Kaos.
Maybe you need a little arse-beat to get you to learn your mistake?

      • Do you want to give Kaos a poke?

You don't make it sound very consensual.

  • +1

    LG G4 deal please! :)

    • +1

      Wait for the G5 ;)

    • $469 at buymobile.com.au

    • What about a Note 5 deal, there has been none for ages :(

  • +3

Nexus 6P is so far the best Android phone I have owned and with this price you can't go wrong.

    Forget S7 :)

    • I would of got the Nexus 6P, unfortunately it doesn't have a keyboard doc to make it like a blackberry. The S7 edge does, so for some, the Galaxy is better ;) http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/samsung-galaxy-s7-s7-ed…

      • +6

        Wow, that dock is ridiculous.

        • +3

Seems quite useful, but looks like pair billabong shorts for your phone ;)

But I bet most of us prefer mobile with regular on screen keyboard rather than that cover ;) but for some that might be must have feature.

        • Yes, it does look quite odd and "ridiculous", but at the end of the day, it was designed to serve the huge BB user market.

      • man, that keyboard dock is terribly designed. What a way to turn a nice looking phone into a lumpy ugly brick! In design terms, I'd choose the Blackberry Priv any day of the week!

  • Well Done TA.

  • +10

    But the 5x is $447 @jb

    • +4

The blue one is $447 @ JB. The black one like in this post is $547 @ JB. No idea why one colour should cost more than the other :)

      • Black ivory is more expensive than the crushed blue teeth.

      • +5

Cheap is cheap, how can JB be cheaper than Mobileciti, earlier Mbileciti used to be $100-$200 cheaper than HN and JB, but see how JB and HN have caught up their games up now. For just a colour no one will pay $60 more thank you.

My concern is stores like Mobileciti, Futu/SE used to be super cheap and most of the times way cheaper than Big retailers but no more the case. Is it about higher margins or commissions or affiliate earnings they have to share. Earlier Mobileciti/SE/PC Byte saw less sales but at least did not had to share 1~5% on affiliate commissions, we want the same best prices as before not increasing prices in ebay promotions from Futu. Bigger marketing spends and affiliate commissions trying to get revenue might be good for OzBargain/CR and merchants but not end-users and buyers who are the community and pillars of this site. Even a $5 increase in price in a $500 product due to commissions/affliate/marketing extra is going to come from buyers pocket.

        • Some get their phone on the Telstra plan from JB and JB will get their money back that way. With low pricing people will come to JB and then will get some accessories and/or a mobile plan with the phone.

          Or the extended warranty :D

          Mobileciti only sells the hardware.

      • Blue doesn't sell as well as the black one hence why it's been discounted. They need to move product.

        • You can get the black direct from Google for $479.

        • @gazza88: That's the 16GB version :)

      • All the 5X have the same front casing. You can buy a black cover off eBay for ~$30

  • did this deal just appear with 10+ votes already?!

    • It would have got to the front page after getting 10 votes since being posted ten minutes ago. Some of us are only here for TA's posts :-p

  • tempted but only silver for the 6p

    • +3

The greatest colour imo. Absolutely love mine :P

  • +11

really? 32gb is worth an extra $150 ?

    come on,……….

  • +3

What is it with these garbage posts today TA

Either lost all phones on mobiCity in this sale, or don't bother at all

Bennoc please come and back me up here :p

    Lol jokes

    • +3

I think there is an udemy course on humour…

    • :)
I think you need some stress relieving herbs from iherb ;)

    • Lol that guy is hilarious. Not sure if he was serious but he definitely made his point clear.

  • The product profile for the 6P states that it has optus branding. Anyone know how obtrusive this branding is, and does it impede with receiving Google updates?

Great deal, super tempted but the optus branding could upset me.

    • +4

That's a mistake, there is absolutely no carrier-branded software for the 6P/5X. It's all the same, for every model, in every country.

    • +1

not really concern with nexus device, can always put international firmware on it and receive google updates.

    • +2

      Hi xristo

sorry was mistake no carrier-branded on all nexus.

  • can you claim gst when travelling overseas?

    • +2

Look for the magic words "GST invoice included & TRS eligible" ///

(The answer is yes, I did it on an iPhone 6S in January, no hassle at all.)

    • yes. Lady didn't even bother looking at the actual goods, just checked invoice and approved it :O

      • You're lucky, my guy was super strict when trying to do my 6S a couple months ago. He asked me if I was bringing the goods back into the country and not really thinking (and seeing it just pulled it out of my pocket to show him) I said yes, so missed out. Personally, if I was to do it again I'd box it back up to make it look like a gift just to save the hassle.

  • Beat ass??

  • +1

Got my 64gb 6p for $849 less $50 trade in at jb hifi. $799 all up with some fitness tracker

I bought the trade in phone for $7

    • Mind telling me which $7 that was ?

    • And how'd you get it for $849? Just by asking?

    • I got my 64GB for $875 at Harvey Norman November last year :)

Some people even got theirs for $744. The retailers weren't aware that the Optus Nexus 6p was 32GB.

    • Which phone?

  • +2

    Well done as always TA!

Any chance of bartering an S7 edge deal?!

  • Good price for 32gb. Still waiting for the 64gb one to slide a bit more…

  • +1

What makes these any different from the 5X for sale on Expansys? 16GB $369, 32GB $419? And if I remember correctly, my Nexus 4 from the Play Store was labelled as coming from Expansys…

Not really in the market, just curious…

    • +2

      Grey import.

  • +2

Good-Arse prices again TA! Hard to imagine why many people would be shelling out double the cost of the 6P for a galaxy s7…

  • Gon' beat that ass real good,

  • +1

Hrmmm Nexus 6P or S7? Any thoughts? Currently have a Note 4 with Gear VR so I like the idea of getting the S7 with the new Gear VR

    • +1

      I vote for 6P :)

      Gear VR is overpriced accessory.

  • +1

Does the bottom link for the ml Motorola point to the right page?

    • +2

Well spotted. Can't believe it took this long for someone to notice lol. Now fixed :)

      • +1

Thanks for the fix, and for organising yet another amazing deal :)

      • +1

JB price is $70 less, or $70 + $22.5 more (for 5% off JB cards), so paying $90 or so more for a Black colour over a blue is not a deal, sorry TA. OW price beats day in and day out for OzBargainers and if they would have had stock they would have sold 5x for $425 , but unfortunately lets see if you can arrange such a price beat arrangement to beat prices of Big Retailers by 5%. We all will be happy to buy from Small Business and support them if they also support us buyers with best price guarantee and price beat 5%

        • +1

I have no idea what you're trying to say. The black 32GB 5X at JB is $28 more than this deal. Mobileciti don't stock the cheaper blue version, and if they did, I'm sure MC would do their best to beat JB's price.

        • +1

@tightarse: Its a good deal but not for the 5x, what I am trying to say if you were looking for a Nexus 5x in the market, would you pay $70 more (or $95 more if you are paying with 5% discount JB cards available on various health funds and other corporate membership or even on Gumtree) just for Black instead of Blue ?

        • +1

@regenade: Well that comes down to what people want then. Black or blue. It's as simple as that.

        • @regenade: It's obvious some colours sell easier than others. This is true for all handsets… Maybe think of it differently; the blue is priced lower so it can actually sell. I know if they were at the same price-point I'd pick black every single time. What would you pick?

  • +3

Thanks TA, you absolute legend. I need a good arse-beat after spending all this money on your deals ;)

  • +1

Much overlooked now but great price also for the N6

    • Indeed, got one. Pity the deal doesn't apply to the Midnight Blue one, strange that it's consistently more expensive, if it's more popular surely they just make more of them. Unless there's some hardware/build date issues I'm not aware of

  • nice post - would like to have seen them do a deal on a iphone 5s - was trying to hold out from buying from kogan.
needed to go with apple as their security settings for app blocking (ie disabling web browser) is better and easier to use than android (in case anyone starts complaining why I want to buy an old phone)

  • No 128gb 6P?

    Help a brother out TA!

    • Only the Google Store sells it :(. If TA can pull something off with 'em then he's a real G

  • Can Mr Tightarse please negotiate a deal for tablet? Cheers

  • +1

Prices direct from Google store due to the $100 off birthday sale are:
    5X16gb $479
    5X 32gb $559
    6P 32gb $799
    6P 64gb $899
The discount only shows up once you add it to the cart. It's not as big a discount as you may think.

    • The 6P prices are pretty good from Mobileciti but if you're buying the 5X, you should pay the little bit extra and get it from the Play Store. The warranty and service can't be beat.

  • I'ma bit annoyed with my Nexus 6P in that it does not support NAB/CBA paypass tech. Also feel like my previous note 4 was more ergonomically shaped to my hand.

    • +2

I thought NFC was all you need for those contactless payment. Hmmm, could you elaborate a bit?

      • +2

        Me too … please elaborate?

        • I use cba tap and pay all the time on my note 4.

I think only certain phones are supported and Nexus doesn't qualify.

Can find where I read that but it's there somewhere.

Edit: seems like it's possible, ProspectiveDarkness below says he does it.

          Edit 2: confirmed here https://www.commbank.com.au/support/faqs/1190.html

Says any phone but it definitely didn't work on my MotoG… Maybe they've changed the support?

        • @sabaramo:

Not sure but I currently use a ZenFone 2 and the CBA tap function works for me.

I don't use it often as ING's 2% for every tap is too good, but it has always worked for me.

        • @sabaramo: I do remember hearing that older gen Moto G do not have NFC. At least 2015 one do not seem to have one, according to the spec on their site (then again, US page, we might have it differently).

          http://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-g

        • It definitely does not work on the NAB and Nexus 6p is listed as NON supported device. Not sure why . I just assumed CBA used the same tech.

        • @samprofs: Huh, that's seriously weird. I guess it's the incompetence of NAB app developers then, the app in my opinion is god awful.

        • @samprofs:
Are you tapping mid way on Nexus 6P after turning on NFC?
Try tapping the glass band on side of the camera. Aluminium body, so NFC at the top.

        • @varunpant: The NAB website says that 6P and Xperia series are not supported for some random reason. I honestly can't think why though.

        • @varunpant]

No. The warning comes from the actual app.

    • Thats why im keeping my nexus5 for a bit longer.

    • I use mobile payments on the Commonwealth app all the time on my 6P…

    • I think you confuse between no wireless charging and no nfc. It has NFC

    • Used CBA paypass all the time on my 6P.
      Your comment is invalid.

$100 discount from Google on these phones due to birthday sale.

  • +3

$150 for an extra 32GB RAM? That's worse than Apple.

    • +10

I would happily pay $150 for an extra 32GB of ram

    • +1

It's eMMC or internal storage, not RAM. I wish phones came with 32GB of ram…

    • LOL RAM

  • For those interested, Google is having $100 off their nexus devices, so for another $150 dollars on top of the 64GB model you can pick up the 128GB version. Specially handy for those of us who use FLAC format on our phones. This is a great deal tho, the 6P is an amazing phone.
