Woolworths Rewards name displayed to checkout person?

Hi, I'm wondering if the woolworths reward card name shows to the checkout person or not? I have a card with $150 woolworths dollars, and I'm concerned if I use a checkout person they will question it once my amount due drops to $0, given the name is clearly not me (wrong sex - its my partners card). A solution is to use self service checkouts til its lower, but its inconvenient as I'd normally do a large shop.

I use wife and parents cards all the time

wrong sex - its my partners card

If the kid at the checkout gives you any stick, tell them you are undergoing gender reassignment procedures and they will be in violation of discrimination policy

You will blow their mind and get your rewards guaranteed

They wouldn't care. I have the card on my phone in the stocard app. No name is displayed.

    • This app is brilliant. Thanks for introducing it to me!

        Pity it hardly works anywhere…..:(

  • Can I ask how could you get $150 on the card?

    • They normally do a large shop XD

    • Maybe he 'bought' 50 blocks of Philly cheese when they had this deal?

I got a targeted offer. Lasted 3 weeks. Spend $200 in week 1, get $35. Spend $200 in week 2, get $35. Spend $200 in week 3 (as well as week 1 and 2), get $70. 23.33% off. Pretty good seeing as I spend generally spend about $150 or so at woolworths per week anyhow. Then add onto that $10 I just earned makes $150.

      • Wouldn't the fist $30 get deducted from the second shop and so on?

        • Nope. They hold it all till the end. I noticed on the first week that woolworths dollars counts towards the $200 spend, so if they credited instantly the deal would have been much more generous.

        • @Gofast: ahh right makes sense!

      • Yep, got a similar one although mine was $225 each week and a total of $160 in credit.

        • I got spend 3x $165 for 3 weeks and get a total of $100 (25,25,50).

Didn't bother trying to achieve it.

Yours was slightly better, ~24% in credit but mine only ~20% credit.

    • Where do you shop that is better?

      • -4

Coles, Woolworths Online, Coles Online, Foodland, Aldi.

        • +31

          Woolworths Online is still WOOLWORTHS

        • given that coles online prices are generally marked up by 8%, woolworths or woolworths online is much better value

re: going to store. i also go to a fruit shop, which is just outside woolworths :)

        • @holdenmg:
Because not many people can buy $150 worth of stuffs at a time(not an ozbargainer way)

And now you said Brick & Mortar physical shop.

free delivery is one off or permanently every Friday?

        • @holdenmg:
my previous experience of coles or woolies online wasn't good. Constant out of stock items so if always need to go to the store anyway.

The question should be how the hell did you get to $150 Woolworths dollars? I've been stuck on $1.65 for months. Literally nothing seems to give any credit. It's the worst rewards program ever. Each visit with zero rewards showing on the screen is like a small slap to the face, and a reminder as to why you just should've gone to Coles.

Completely agree. Ironically, because I very occasionally get woolies dollars from poorly ticketed merch I make sure to scan the card, even for sub-$30 transactions. So their system forces you to confront the 'no loyalty bonus today' every shop. It literally reinforces that they value your loyalty at nil nearly every time.
Worst system I have ever heard of.

      • I had a deal last 3 weeks where if you spent 75 each week u get $15, $15 and $30 bucks back

        haven't gotten the money yet….

and yeah its a terrible system

    • Same here, been on $1.45 for months, pretty much since they changed their rewards policy. The number of staple items that earn points seem to have been reduced considerably.

    • i think i've accrued about $50-100. they've just given me money out of the blue a couple of times (here, have $10 …). a couple of $10 for $30 spends etc. that's all i use my card for.

    • Targeted offer, detailed in a response above.

    • The Rewards scheme is going to change in the near future. The focus will probably be on partner airline rewards though.

Do you check your email often? Lots of offers are sent to your email that requires to be activated before you can take advantage of it.

For example for me, the most frequent one I get is Spend $50, get $10

So when I see the offer, I click on the "Activate" button, then during the period, I go spend the required amount and you'll get your credit.

      Simple :)

If you are not getting email, try changing the email used.

      Cheers bro

    • I finally made it to W$3 after about 4 months. Amazing rewards program. I mostly shop at Coles now, at least you get rewards for everything you buy. Only shopped at Woolies the past 3 weeks because of that targeted offer (spend $x for 3 weeks and get reasonable bonus dollars). I will use the bonus dollars to buy a few things, then back to Coles.

Anyone know when the Woolies Dollars <> Qantas Points thing is going to launch again?

      • They should have the conversion of $10 WW Dollars to 870 QFF points system worked out by the end of this financial year. There could be some one off points offers before then however.

…same here - since they changed their " rewards" policy - I make it a point to shop at the competitors, especially the ones that actually use a REWARDING customer loyalty rewards program - I vowed not to leave my money at Wollworths - until they get back striking a deal with Qantas QFF - ( small shops , top up shops - or large shops )

We used to use Woolworths so the other half could reset his Qantas points. The only reason we go there now is they are close to the South Melbourne market. I think they have stuffed up bigtime, yet again. As a shareholder in Woolies, I'm not too happy with the management at the moment. As a shareholder in Coles, bring it on.

We don't care about the name. We know that many families share one rewards card.

Even our staff cards are for the 'household of the owner' not necessarily the owner itself.

So that is to say I can use my father staff card to purchase and when someone ask me for ID I can say that the card is my father and I can keep using it?

In the T&C's they need to apply for a secondary card under your name.
In reality, every single 18yo casual gives their discount card to mummy or daddy and nobody cares.

        • +1

I've been working at Woolies for 8 yrs as a casual and my mum uses it all the time no hassle!

    • +2

Thanks, gives me more confidence. So does it actually show you the name?

      • +3

Not on our screen mate, only way to tell is if we read the back of the physical card.

        • +2

          Thanks.

  • I use my partners card all the time. No issues

  • From what I've seen the rewards paid to your card are all on full priced items…that are over priced already.

  • +3

Yes, if they catch you out, you will go to jail!

Just kidding man… just do it.

    • I know the worst possibility is losing my $150. Based on the card conditions, they can potentially cancel it if detected, but based on the responses above I'm convinced no one cares!

    • Anyone would think you are hatching a darstardly scheme to rort a bank of government bonds.

      It freaking woolies!

Its policed by children - you dont really need to have the brains trust at ozbargain instill confidence and courage to match wits with a schoolgirl do you?
