    Wow~ cheese cakes!

    • +3

Cheap eggs - all hell breaks loose.

Cheap cheese - nobody bats an eye lid.

  • How long does cream cheese stay good for?

    • +1

The last time I made cheesecake I remember being surprised at how long it was. I can't remember exactly how long but I believe it was at least a month (perhaps 2 or more). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

      • I made this the other day with blueberries and then froze half of it straight away in the freezer. It lasted about a week
very good cheesecake and I used philadelphia!

The packs I got have a best before date of 12 May 16

      • +1

Oh wow. Well worth stocking up then.

      • +4

Haha and I suspect most OzBargainers have eaten things after the best before date.

    • The expiry is usually a few months off, but I've used it a month past expiry before (forgot I had it in the fridge), tasted fine.

    • You can also freeze the blocks and keep them longer, although it may change the texture that could in turn impact how some dishes taste - but it will be fine in (say) dips. If you make a cheesecake and freeze it, in general the texture is also fine and will keep for up to 3 months in the freezer. Personally I prefer eating slightly frozen [not baked] cheesecake…. why do I keep getting these pains down my right arm…. ;-)

      • Left arm would have had me worried

    • I regularly freeze them - ruins the texture a bit, but good for cakes, quiches etc.

How long does cream cheese stay good for?

Having just done the maths, it doesn't matter!

  • +1

Awesome. Will go well with the 2 for $5 condensed milk to make my favourite cheese cake

    • Sounds delicious! :-) I love both these ingredients but have never tasted condensed milk cheese cake before. Care to provide some pointers? Is recipe similar to this?. Many thanks.

      • +1

        I guess very similar.
I deliver the Philly cheese, the condensed milk, a lemon, either a flake or freshpassion fruit for the topping sprinkle, some arnots finger biscuits, and drop off to Mum.
Pick up my cheese cake the next day!!!

        • Lucky you :-)

  • +2

Ah now I just need some cheap bagels.

    • Or someone to make you breakfast in bed.. How I Met Your Mother style (not sure where English version is, but see https://coub.com/view/5wo6f)

  • Can we get rewards points online? It is also $3 online, but doesn't mention about the rewards points…

  • +5

I activated a 'Double up rewards' email - does that mean I get $6 back for every $3 spent?

    • +1

i also done the same will be testing this out.

      • +2

I wonder why I never get emails like this :(

        • +4

          You are not alone.

        • I have 4 accounts and still can't win the woolworths lottery either

    • I have the same offer and was thinking this myself

  • +2

    Nice!
I got got double dollars till Dec 17!

  • +4

LIMIT OF $10 BONUS DOLLARS ON THE DOUBLE DOLLARS OFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It's hidden away in the T's & C's :(

So you can buy three or four and take advantage of it.

    • +1

      Mine said $20

  • +1

Can anyone confirm it is nationwide $3 woolie dollar? Kinda too good to be true.

Also don't seem to find it on the catalog.

    • +1

Also don't seem to find it on the catalog.

      Page 27.

      • Yes thanks! But it doesn't say there's woolworths dollar.

  • +2

Just a note that when you acquire $10 it has to be used on the next purchase. Unless of course you choose not to scan your everyday regards card.

    • +1

Lmao how is that even worthy of a neg? Funny ozbargainers seriously!

      • +5

Plenty of idiots on ozbargain. Just like any other thing in public domain.

    • I thought it just has to be used on the next purchase over $10. E.g. so if you spend $8 you don't forfeit your 10 WOW dollars…

      • You should be able to use it for purchases < $10. It will leave you with $2 left on your card.

        • +1

An eligible shop is a transaction of $10 or more at any participating Woolworths’ businesses, excluding smoking/tobacco products and accessories, gift cards, cash outs, home charges and internet cafes.

        • @inherentchoice:

          Cheers for the clarification

  • +17

Use 5% off eGift cards purchased through CR/Groupon/etc and get paid 15c for every block of cheese you buy. Winning.

    • +3

      Mother of all bargains.

    • -2

      Winning.

  • Hey OP, please could you share which store you found this?

  • +4

I did see it in store but at check out it did not add rewards to the card. Had to speak to WW and they agreed that the offer is what it is so they offered $3 vouchers for every block I bought. So technically I still ended up paying. The vouchers are only valid for 4 weeks and you can only utilise one voucher per transaction so you need to split your next shopping:)

    • +1

Same experience as Knight, be aware that the WW dollar doesn't go into your accounts directly!

Speak to a woolworth staff, otherwise you might not be getting anything back.

      • I bought 3, along with some other stuff. My 'dollars earnt this shop' was $1.50.
I argued with some grumpy lady who then misinterpreted the $10 next shop note as that the missing $9 of WW dollars will magically appear on my next shop over $10.

I'm keeping the receipt and will call her out on her BS on the weekend when it doesn't work.

Edit: Also took a photo of the shelf label 'promise' in my store.

    • Did you speak to WW before or after you paid?

  • So… say you acquire $10 in Woolworths dollars, do purchases you make using it still acquire you more Woolworths dollars? e.g. if I already had 10 Woolworths dollars and bought $12 of this cheese, my total should be $2 but will it still earn me 12 Woolworths dollars?

    • +1

      Yes, I believe so.

      • +1

Yep, did this to me during the popcorn deal

    • +1

      Also curious

      :0 unlimited cheese? lol.

  • Now I am trying to work out how to use the Philadelphia Cheese blocks. I don't bake cakes etc so any other good suggestions on what to do with it? Is it spreadable on toast?

    • +2

Bagels mate, delicious with some berries too

      • Also found this:
        http://www.kraftrecipes.com/philadelphia.aspx

The Bagels are a good idea as well.

      • Absolutely, do bagels the proper Jewish way with capers and smoked salmon.
        Just delicious.

      • It's sort of spreadable. Just means you end up with thicker chunks = good on toast. Plus tomato for the win. Mmm.. been a while since I had this.

    • Jalapeno Poppers

    • If you don't mind just combining ingredients, try a no-bake cheesecake.
This one which I just found does not sound too complicated.

I was just asking albanyson for pointers to condensed milk cheesecake, which he mentioned here. It sounded really delicious. Well, this is a simple to make, no-bake condensed milk cheesecake.

  • Sorry for possible stupid question but has this been confirmed nation wide?

If so, 4 cheeses will get you enough credit to use straight away when it hits $10.

Considering you can freeze, this is a top deal if not just store specific.

    • +2

'… but has this been confirmed nation wide?'

I can confirm that this is currently NOT on offer at the Woolies at Northland, in Preston VIC (I just went there to get some). So it's definitely not at all stores.

    Reminded me about extreme couponing

  • +2

Showing full price (label) at Woolworths at Brisbane McArthur Central, also no info about $3 rewards…
Can somebody please confirm if this is nation-wide?

Edit, online price showing $3 at my local store but no info about $3 reward

  • Didn't see an orange ww$ tag at my local wa store

    • sometimes they forget to put the ww$ tag.

  • no deal in 3074 :(

  • So you buy 4 cheeses and get %10, and go back in to buy another 3 cheeses and get $9, and get back in to buy another 3 cheeses and get $9 and get back in buy another 3 cheeses,
then it will never ending …………………………………………..

    • No
If your balance is zero, you'd have to buy 4 blocks. totalling $12 WW money. Then return and grab another 4 blocks and add $2 to the transaction because you can only redeem $10 WW money at a time.

  • +1

I had a woolworths reward offer email it was double woolworths dollars on your purchases. So i would make $3 on each block :-)

  • +3

Just came back from Woolies Parramatta. Stickers on shelf indicate $3 reward dollars per block of cheese. But reward dollars did not show up at checkout. Staff knew nothing about it and are unwilling to help. End up cancelling purchase.

    • +1

Take a pic and slam them on their FB page. Lols ahoy!

    • does reward show up on checkout screen before payment?

      • Normally it should. Any reward not shown on checkout screen will not be added to your reward card

    • +1

Same here with Sydney Town Hall Woolies. Scans at $3 but no rewards dollars. Still bought it cos i bought the rest of the ingredients to make cheesecake!!

  • Got offered 50c per block at my local… I just cancelled and put it back. I screw them HARD every day (I pay virtually nothing for my groceries…) so I wasn't willing to push this issue. I knew it had to be a mistake but if it went through it would of been a bonus.

    • +4

I'd love to know how you pay virtually nothing for your groceries…

      • +2

I'm on the pension and have no life essentially. I eat what is marked down and buy whatever lasts on special. I could buy something six months ago for a meal tonight.

Trust me, it's alot less than most!

    • -7

Yep, it's a mistake. But I got my 4 blocks for free. They could not figure out what to do, so I pointed out that they are asking $3 a block and giving $3 back so they are free… :)

      • +5

You got $16 worth of free stuff and yet you neg this deal?

      • -7

Not sure if I should neg the deal? But people should know it's not real…

  • +5

If exif info is correct, this was likely taken at Woolworths Carnes Hill Sydney.

  • +3

Werribee VIC only scanned as $0.50 woolworths dollars rewards per block instead of $3 so went to service counter and they gave me a $10 gift card to replace the lost $10 in woolworths dollars

  • Scanned for $0.50 WD at Mt Ommaney QLD. Staff said it was obviously an error and wouldn't do anything.

  • Guys be careful, it doesn't work!

  • -4

Checked at 5168. Got 50c per cube instead of the advertised $3 (price tag said $3 off for $3). Staff said they have no power to change it.

Woolworths really needs to lift their game if they let embarrassments like this leak out. It's amazing that no one noticed this blatant error. The person placing the price sticker on the shelf obviously wasn't paying attention. No manager noticed it either. What do they get paid for?
