Acronis True Image 2016 for 1 PC US $24.99 (AU $33.25)

90

Pretty good deal for legit Acronis latest version. I was running the beta version and it is pretty good. I am sure there will be plenty who will have a whinge about how there is free software that will do the same thing, for you guys here you go:

http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

http://www.easeus.com/backup-software/tb-free.html

Found the deal here: http://www.pcmag.com/article/343188/save-50-percent-on-acron…

They are also having a BOGOF so if you need two licenses it is AUD $70 from Acronis website.

If you're like me and have anti ad DNS filters set up the link probably won't work because it's a redirect through a click-counter thing.

  • Is this the Acronis software that comes free with some SSD's?

    • No that is a special "lite" version or something.

      • Thanks. That's what I suspected. They wouldn't give the whole suite away, would they.

Be warned that they have no support at all. Well, a bot that makes less sense than the usual outsourced to India/Bangladesh people.

I switched to Genie9 software and couldn't be happier, especially after finding the massive discount codes - US^0 down to US$7? Yes please :-)

    Never going near Acronis again.

Must admit, I have been an avid Acronis TI user for over 10 years. I have seen each version get progressively worse and dumbed down to the point where it is hard to even see status logs in the latest version.

I upgraded to TI2016 from TI2014 a couple of months ago.

After a few weeks of very unsatisfactory results, I got my money back. I am staying on TI2014 and am evaluating alternative solutions.

I agree with another comment above about the poor levels of support, though I had no issues getting my money back.

    • I've been using 2013. I bought 2016 from this deal and am already unhappy with it.

The fact that it overwrote 2013 without telling me it would was the first problem.

        Just uninstall TI2016 and re-install TI2013.

Not sure why you would expect an upgrade to leave the original version intact.

        • Yeah, I'm doing that and I've applied for the refund. Disappointing.

I wouldn't expect it to leave the original intact, but it is possible. Many programs do leave the earlier version intact. What I would expect is a warning that the previous version would be removed. Simply a warning. Not even the option to keep the old one. Just a thing that says they're replacing, not adding, say Yes to continue.

        • @tantryl: I am sorry tantryl but it is pretty obvious if you have been using software for how many years (?) that new versions overwrite old versions. I have to agree with oceang.

I didn't end up getting this deal myself, I installed both the free versions and uninstalled EaseUS and made a backup with Macrium. However it doesn't let me choose all the available backup methods, only full and differential, unless I pay.

        • @zan5hin: I feel like you completely ignored what I just said.
