  • TV are so cheap now… that's Moore's Law for you!

  • is it really crap for this price?

    • For the price, I'm sure its decent.

Found some reviews on the previous E43V15B model. Seems fine for general TV & gaming. Don't expect much from the sound though.

      Good link.

That being said, if you were an audiophile, you would go with a surround sound setup anyway….although if you were getting a Soniq TV, probably not the type to get SS :P

  • Going by the details of the TV anyone care to guess what the picture quality would be like?
    Screen Type - LED-LCD
    Screen Resolution - Full HD
    Resolution (Pixels) - 1920 x 1080
    Refresh Rate (Hz) - 50
    TV Tuner - HD Tuner
24 Frames Per Second Mode - True

Is 50 Hz a good refresh rate?

  • Hmmmm I think I will pull the plug on this.

50 Hz is seriously not good enough. But the price is good. This will be a first tv for me and will end up being a bedroom TV.

At some point will buy a 50 inch 4k resolution HDTV but for now at this price point, it will have to suffice.
I think based on past reviews, it may make sense to buy extra warranty protection (replacement option?) from JB-HiFi.

    • Would 60 Hz be good?

    • AFAIK, TVs will actually display at 60Hz if the input is 60Hz. At least when I switch to the XBOX, the TV will state that the input is 60Hz.

    • get them to cut the price if you buy the extended warranty

      • How do I do that?

  • I bought a similar one for around $380 late last year, and I'm very happy with it. Especially after I bought a sound bar. Well worth it as a budget TV.

    • Did you like the icture quality out of the box? It seems grainy and "Cartoony" for me. Did you change the picture settings?

  • Pretty good price… but the sound is HORRIBLE. I had a Soniq 40in a while back; if you get this you have to get a sound bar at the very least. My dad doesn't care about sound (or video quality for that matter), but even he remarked that the sound is "wrong" lol.

  • Looks like it may be 50/60 Hz. I looked up the manual on the site.

  • Guys I got this today and am not impressed at all. It seems like 480p and not 1080p….My old 43 inch Samsung Plasma was so amazing. This is grainy. I am going to check eveything tomorrow and if it seems bad I am returning it.

There has to be a reason why they are selling this for $299 and now I know why.

    • what was the source you were watching on it?

      • HDMI.I will try to calibrate the TV based on what I found here and try.

If it does not work I am returning it.

        • yeah hdmi but what source?

        • @CVonC: PS3 mate.

        • Let us know how you go. I was planning to pick this up today.
          Cheers

Wow I've never seen a TV that couldnt display a decent picture from a console.

          @muzzy1907:

Tried calibrating and its better now.

The key is the damn sharpness..Its 50+ out of the box and mucks everything up.
I have currently set to 3 and its a LOT better…watchable now.

The picture quality is not the best. I had a 50 inch Samsung plasma and 32 inch Sharp Aquos (120 hz) LED TV in the states and both were great especially the LED tv….

But this TV is not at that mark. However you get what you pay for and for $299 with this settings I can recommend it now.
I think I will stick with it for a year.

        • @tonyjzx:

My 32 inch sharp tv used to….in the states :(

  • Can you purchase for this price in store?

    • Yes of course

For those that have this, does it have a games mode in picture settings, I could not see any mention in the manual?

    • +1

NO gaming mode that I could find….Just drop sharpness always the way down and tweak the rest as needed.
Right now with my settings, I find it ideal for Games, netflix and wwe..lol

Currently playing Dishonored and Arkham origins on PS3….both have darker backgrounds…and its pretty decent..

No complaints for the quality at this price.

      • Thanks, good advice

Picked one up today. Had a giftcard i needed to use too, so couldnt resist.

Agree PQ isnt the best even after tweaking the settings. I dropped my sharpness to 10. Haven’t tried ps4 yet.

@tho760 No gaming mode that i can see.

  • I bought one, pic quality I think is still pretty good for the price, you just have to drop sharpness down.

Mine's got one dead pixel (bottom left corner), but it's not really noticeable unless the image is white and you stick your head up close, so I don't care. I bought it for the kids room, mainly because the screen is seriously light and I'm going to wall mount it.

    • Agree about price.

And yes forgot about the weight…Its the lightest TV I have ever owned. My 32 inch Sharp LED was probably heavier than this.

  • this tv is now $399. i found the ips display sharp with good colors.
